Come Out Fighting (2016)
Come Out Fighting, A Secret Little Gem
I was able to watch this film recently.
Having produced my own independent films over the years, I realize the extra struggle it takes to put a project like this together. When you don't have a big studio backing your film project, you have to hustle to get it done, to find a way to complete your film. I think if that is taken into consideration just going into viewing this film, that will open up the overall perspective a bit.
With characters including a main villain you want to go down, a love interest that hits a common and realistic chord, and the supporting character of "Freddie" who is capable of anything, you are instantly drawn in to these characters and their world.
The heartbeat of this film is Jazz, played on point, and with a lot of heart by Joe Ricci. Joe, who also wrote and produced the film, turns in a truthful performance that makes you instantly like the character, you find yourself rooting for Jazz to succeed in trying to better his life.
This film was not made in Los Angeles, it does not have any movie stars in it, but it is very entertaining, and like the main character Jazz, it has a lot of heart. With all the garbage that big studio films are putting out there, this film is definitely worth your viewing time. You might just be surprised how well an independent film made outside of Los Angeles and outside of the studio system could turn out.
Rambo (2008)
Stallone is Back!
Now this is how an action movie should be made. Going to see this movie was a great experience. I went to the midnight show with my girlfriend and two buddies. When we arrived there was a big line for the movie and the theater manager was convinced to open a 12:15 show. The second the credits came on, the audience applauded like crazy. Every great action scene was met with numerous applause. And the ending, which I thought was a classic ending, had the entire audience give a standing ovation. As for the negative movie critics and their reviews... This is not an "Oscar" movie, but who wanted it to be? It's Rambo, classic action that got everyone to remember growing up with the other Rambo movies. I think this one was as good as "First Blood". It also had a realistic feel to it,as well as addressing the situation that's happening right now in Burma. Sylvester Stallone is kind of like the New York Yankee's. You either love him or hate him. But I think this film as well as last years "Rocky Balboa" shows that Stallone is truly gifted as a writer-director-actor. To direct yourself, especially in an action movie is very hard work(like Mel Gibson in "Braveheart")and I think Stallone did a wonderful job with it. People are hard on Stallone cause maybe he had a few bad movies out there, or they think in real life he is slow and talks like Rocky(why I don't know, it's called acting, it was a character he played)what ever reason, I think Stallone deserves more respect than what people give him. Hopefully, these two new movies he made can help him get his respect.
