Loved it until the end
10 January 2019
This is coming from someone who has been looking forward to this movie for a long time. I thought the acting was fantastic, especially James McAvoy who plays all the personalities fantastically. Bruce Willis doesn't phone it in and actually does a good job. If you're expecting a superhero movie, you're not going to get one. This is most definitely and physcological thriller that happens to have superheroes. This film is filled with incredible memorable moments that you'll certainly remember walking out of the movie. However, the end will turn a lot of people off, as it goes in directions that are very divisive. If you go in with an open mind, I think you'll enjoy most of it.

Gritty and depressing

Warning: Spoilers
It at first may seem like a normal murder mystery movie, but it is so much more. This movie just feels so real and has some great acting and cool action scenes that immerse you in the feel of the whole thing. My only complaint is that I feel that the message wasn't really portrayed very well. I didn't even know that the whole point of the film was that life out their sucks until the end. I'd give it and 8.6/10.

Just Bad

Warning: Spoilers
So much potential, so much nonsense. Elizabeth Shaw was a very awesome character from Prometheus, so it only makes sense that she was killed OFF SCREEN. WHAT THE FUCK RIDLEY SCOTT. What the FUCK, is the point of putting James Franco in the movie if he's gona die in 1 minute. So much dumb character choices and the xenomorph looks dumber than ever. An obvious plot twist at the end and a group of boring characters make this movie fun, but forgettable.

Deadpool in Space

Warning: Spoilers
It started phenomenally, beautiful cinematography along with characters that you care about. As soon as the monster showed up I was extremely invested. Making the creature like a bug that you can't seem to get rid up differentiated itself from other monster movies. The first half had incredibly intense moments and the fact that I liked the characters just added to the intensity. Then they decided to give this thing a face, and it looked so stupid. It got completely derailed with stupid character decisions and a very obvious "twist" ending. The first half is a 9, second half is a 7, so an 8 in between.

How did this bomb

Warning: Spoilers
Great acting, beautiful cinematography, memorable score, and some of the best cgi I have ever seen. Harrison Ford looks like he cares, which is always a plus. Ryan Gosling is not just a pretty face, he's a very compelling actor. Jared Leto has it in his contract that he has to act weird in every movie he does. I even really liked Gosling virtual girlfriend which added a very interesting concept to the movie. The slow pacing works in the movies advantage creating such a powerful immersion that will puts you in the movie no matter how bright the moron's phone in front of you is. The only issues I have is that it goes on for around 15 minutes too long and the first half is kind of hard to follow.

slow burn that works?

Warning: Spoilers
An extremely slow and boring first 30 minutes gets beaten out by a very interesting and unique last hour. A lot of people say this movie is suppose to be sad, but I never really got invested in the characters so I didn't really care. Was the seen where our 2 leads are slowly making out for 5 minutes suppose to make us care about them. I got more invested in the spanish family and that little girl from the past who put the note under the rock than the two main characters. It does give us a very different and interesting look at grief though along with a 5 minute exposition scene that really made me think hard about life. I love how the point was that you died but life around you still moves on. The films lack of a chronological structure definitely works in its advantage adding to its uniqueness.
