Charmed (1998–2006)

The Finale
21 May 2006
All I can say is that I cried with mixed feelings of sadness and happiness for a job well done. The final episode was perfect! With 3 shows that I watched faithfully about women canceled in the last 12 months (Strong Medicine, Charmed, and Commander In Chief), I just hope that these shows have paved the way for more women, of ALL ages, to carry the torch. And to top it off, I read that Charmed was the longest-running show in TV history to star women. I'm thinking that maybe if women RAN the shows as well more often, maybe shows about women wouldn't be canceled so abruptly, as was the case with Commander. Congratulations to Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Rose McGowen. Thanks for the magic! Blessed be to you three.

Commmander In Chief-Shame on you for cancelling
11 May 2006
To whom it may concern:

How dare the network cancel this show. It's all around the internet that people have been jerked around with this show FROM ITS INCEPTION that HAPPENS TO BE ABOUT A WOMAN BEING THE LEADER OF THIS COUNTRY. (What about the MEN who love Donald Sutherland?) You're a bunch of wimps. No guts. I forgot to watch it last week because I forgot you changed it to another day. In spite of the reasons you've been giving as to why it's been cancelled, there's no threat to our (p)resident, not like some of the male-dominated shows that make jabs at our administration on a weekly basis. Shame on you. You'd better bring this show back or women all over, and intelligent men, will never forget your cowardess. Why are you so afraid (and that's what this is really about) to air a show that's controversial?? I would LOVE some response.

A look inside Sunshine
20 January 2006
I thought this particular feature in the DVD package was valuable because it explains what's going on in the storyline, not how the camera work was done, etc. (That's interesting, too, but totally separate.) It's just basically a synopsis. It's helpful, because upon viewing the film the first time, it seems rushed and confusing, and you care very much about the couple, but you're thinking, "What is going on now?!" It confused and disturbed me, but I couldn't shake it from my mind, and someone suggested that I watch it again. I did, and now I was on track with how the stories unfolded. It hit me like no other love story in this modern age of cinema. And for those of us who love to dissect a motion picture, technologically and otherwise, this particular DVD extra feature made things clearer, so upon subsequent viewings it became more satisfying and fully appreciated. More DVD's should have information like this included in their package.
