Where is the evidence?
23 November 2015
I heard a mention of the doctor in Rome who treated Kurt's OD but did not hear an audio or see a video interview of the doctor? That is no evidence.

They mentioned Courtney called Exodus 13x in 1 day but that is not evidence until we see a phone report.

They showed snipits of a police report but it was broken up and it did not shown to be signed off by a high ranking official? They mentioned the toxicology and other reports but did not show them? That is not exactly evidence either.

The scenery filmed and some of the Aberdeen interviews I thought was nice but I felt compared to other documentaries I have watched which is many, that much of the "facts' were verbal and the items I listed above were just an example.

Been there done that
23 March 2015
I have watched over 50 documentaries in the last few years and I have to say I really did not connect with this. From the beginning the lads highlighted that even though they were not black they connected with rappers in the states who sang about living in the ghetto like they did. I saw shots of a few withered buildings but these guys were living in 2 story homes and nothing close to what I have seen of people living in the projects or Section 8 housing. They mildly spoke about experimenting with drugs when they were 15 but there were no shots of people doing or buying drugs most of the time it was clips of quiet streets with no background or in depth of the drug use, crime, poverty or corruption for that matter. They went on for 10 minutes about the main character getting a tattoo on his neck and it highlighted his love for his grandfather but there was no background story on his grandfather, what he meant to the lad and what the tattoo did for him? I felt the film tried too hard to paint these kids as bad boys with tattoos, smoking weed and not showing up to court but then they would turn around and talk about how people should live life and stay out of trouble so I really can't say I was inspired nor did I feel sorry for these guys. Last but not least, I did not think their music was any good at all. I know they are young and just getting started out but all they were doing at best was ripping beats off of other rappers and even then it was not harmonic whatsoever.

Low budget but full of suspense
16 October 2010
You can tell from the moment the film began it was a low budget movie. Yet historically, those who joined the Irish Republican Army were mostly from lower income/working middle class families so the low budget filming and actors makes it more real. The acting is not superb but I felt the action and plot were developed very well. For the most part the intensity builds nicely especially at the scenes when the girl is hiding out with the woman who owned the pub. Its based on a true story and I did not think the lead actor did a great job of capturing the audiences attention span nor did she come off as genuine. Yet I did enjoy seeing the suspense build watching the UVA and IRA trying to hunt her down. The last scene was full of suspense and kept me drawn to the movie.

If you enjoy movies based on the Troubles and Civil War that took place in Ireland, then this is a solid film to watch. There are a few twists in the movie and several characters such as Belle and Damien who have such strong personalities that add flare to the story line and focus of the film.
