The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: A Shadow of the Past (2022)
Disappointing and average
It's okay. Wasn't really all that good but an okay thing to watch if a bit boring at times. It's what you would expect from some no-name show, that you could watch to waste some time away.
But for a Lord of the Rings series it's just disappointing and lacking that certain spark, that mood, that special feeling that even the worst lotr movies got right. And while the visuals where good that feeling isn't just something you can create by throwing money one it... Simply put, it's lacking. But even that could mostly have been forgiven if it was really lord of the rings. Can you really call it that when it only has the most general of things in common. You should not judge a book by it's cover but in this case it's only the covers that they got in common.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses (2021)
Disappointed
I don't even know what to say. It was all just so disappointing. It was cringy and awkward, sure it is expected some from the contestants but even the host where bad and interrupted the contestants several times. And it all felt highly scripted.
The questions where either super easy or just strange, like do you know where this highly zoomed in picture is taken... And they took so much time to answer even easy questions that they barely had any questions at all.
Even after all that I watched the whole episode and it didn't get any better with several more highly disappointing moments, still I guess as it's a cartoon network thing that it's more made for kid's rather then adults. But it's just all so disappointing because it could have easily been so much better, for example by simply being more natural, stop forcing them to take so much time to answer questions, add more questions and take away the unnecessary points repetition. Sad about Lee Jordan though, maybe have him host the show instead... Couldn't be worse....
D.P. (2021)
Amazing yet horrifying
It's an amazing story and wonderful piece of tv, that I strongly recommend watching even if for no other reason then just how wonderfully it is made and filmed. But even with how wonderfully it is made the best part is without a doubt how amazing the story is, although it's truly a horrifying tale. A story so gruesome and yet still very human. While I think it's based on reality I sincerely hope it's not. Altogether an amazingly horrifying tale.
Afterlife of the Party (2021)
Heartwarming
Maybe not the perfect masterpiece of a movie. But its fun, a bit original and very easy to see yourself in the characters. It might have some small flaws but they really nailed the massage down to perfection and that makes the movie when put together extremely moving and absolutely beautiful!
Motherland: Fort Salem (2020)
A Moving Story
A rare pearl, although with a bit of a slow start. I detest the over the top drama that often plague series and movies of this genre, and it certainly had a few cringe scenes when I had to press pause and do something else for a bit. But even those scenes aren't without any value. This is after all a story about a group of teens, there was bound to be some teen drama. The glory of this work is that even after the angst I still found myself moved, deeply. I felt for the character's and their problems. Scenes of humans overcoming their challenges, be that in battle or in life. It resonated with me, all the sacrifices and their personal honor. And don't we all love our motherland in someway deep down, which ever it might be. I found it all quite inspiring!
It's absolutely worth watching, even if you might not like those aspects of the story I liked it's still breathtaking visuals and a original way to portray witches and magic, which was what made me continue watching in the beginning.
