Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Marvel is continuing to lose their movie touch
This movie felt as it itself was confused. At times it was incredibly cheesy, and then someone would get ripped in half. It's like marvel wanted to test out a different "horror genre" but only dabbled their toes in the water. This did not work for the movie.
Wanda also greatly disappointed me, not because of Olsen, because of the script. We did not see the same Wanda from the end of Wanda Vision. I understand that she was probably corrupted from the dark hold but this just did not seem like anything her character would do. I was just thinking "ok so Wanda's evil now, again?" Wanda did not seem the type to be cool with killing a whole universe for her kids. But now she's dead, so whatever. It was a very unfulfilling death.
Another thing this movie struggled with was being believable. When watching marvel movies you must accept that some strange things will happen, but that's not what I mean. Im talking about Doctor Strange having already fought the guy with the dread locks (which was BARELY touched upon). That guy was looking like he was going to go on a rampage when we saw him at the end of Doctor Strange. But nope. Don't worry guys, Strange already dealt with him. Wanda being evil (which like I said, that's all they ever do with Wanda) was not believable.
When they were at Wanda's creepy temple and Wongs magic is "no good here" but then he can still cast spells later on?
And Strange can use his magic to get carried through by the spirits of the damned? This movie was very out there, more out there than a grape killing 1/2 the universe with a couple of shiny rocks. Yet even Infinity War was believable.
This movie still had a lot of good. I did enjoy the "horror" sequences. Strange had a cool dynamic with America. The Illuminati were sort of interesting. I think the movie would have done better if Wanda had a better villain arc.
Overall it was a good movie. But to marvel standards it was nothing special. It had so much potential but overall it couldn't commit to a theme and failed to convince the audience.
Eternals (2021)
Think Thor: The Dark World
This film had mediocre special effects. It had a boring slow moving plot with questionable revelations. Even the actors felt unconvinced by the movie. The cast was promising however there were no outstanding performances. This is due to the full script. It's as if they didn't know what direction they wanted the movie to take. It did not feel like a marvel movie. This movie was also far too long, which is unusual to say about a marvel movie. One would assume that a long movie like this would at least give some meaningful character development to the cast, but it did not. It was one meaningless battle after another. The movie failed to grasp the attention of the viewer. The marvel cinematic universe seems to have peaked. Disney is throwing money at whatever it believes we will watch. We are witnessing the fade of the spark that Iron Man created.
The Batman (2022)
Amazing superhero movie
This was a great superhero movie. Robert Pattinson did an amazing job, The fights were great but the movie just felt like it should have been rated R. Nonetheless every scene did it's job in amazing storytelling. This was not your typical Batman movie.
What If...?: What If... Captain Carter Were the First Avenger? (2021)
This was rushed
The first episode of What If? Was decent. It had a lot of Easter eggs to pay tribute to the MCU that we know. There were some cool scenes. But it just felt so rushed. In the first 8 minutes of show so much happens. I feel like these episodes should have been an hour long in the least. There was very little character development and it felt like they just crammed something that should be 1-2 hours into 30 minutes. I hope that all the episodes won't feel so packed. This show has lots of potential that I hope is not wasted. Overall it was mediocre. The episode definitely could have been longer.
Enola Holmes (2020)
I kinda go lost after the first hour
Millie Bobby Brown was really the only good part of the movie. Everything else didn't really make much sense. After an hour you kinda start thinking, "is this almost over?" I did like Sherlock in this movie tho. Millie played her part perfectly.
The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)
Extremely underrated
Yes, it's a low budget teenager horror movie but honestly this movie is pretty awesome. Throw this on late in the evening and I guarantee you and your friends will have a great time. You'll be laughing and screaming.
Floor Is Lava (2020)
Honest review here
The host is kinda cringy and annoying, the contestants are really cringe. However, the show is so cringe it's kinda funny, like it's a bunch of grown people playing the floor is lava, it's entertaining! They have a cool set aswell, I like the props. It's something to just throw on that you don't have to pay attention to.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Oh man they did good
Marvel thought hey, let's go to space and do awesome stuff out there. And damn they executed it incredibly! This movie is so worth your watch. It's funny, has ties to the larger marvel movies and has great characters and pacing. Such a good movie.
Thor: The Dark World (2013)
Just watch a summary video
This movie is so incredibly awfully boring but was merely a speed bump for the franchise. Like I said, not worth the watch. Marvel tried but failed, just move on to the next movie.
The Avengers (2012)
Avengers assembled
The pacing of the movie is great. It shows dispute and how the avengers come together as a team. It's does it's job excellently.
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
Not Cap at his best
Once again like most faze 1 MCU movies this film does its job and shows us another avenger. All around it's not a bad film but the pacing was a little slow. The movie does show us some cool fights by the end but the trip to the end takes longer then expected. The movie does pay off in the end and is definitely worth a watch. Just nothing outstanding.
Thor (2011)
This movie was a little out there
When all these movies were coming out it was a little odd to all of a sudden jump to Thor and what not. It wasn't a bad Movie but the storyline was a little boring.
Iron Man 2 (2010)
Mediocre marvel movies are still great movies
This movie was a follow up to iron man. It wasn't the greatest movie ever but it is still a great movie.
Iron Man (2008)
Great start to the mcu
This movie gets you hooked on marvel movies and everything else to come.
Beyond Stranger Things (2017)
Great after show
So I watched this right when it came out. Then I watched season three and was hyped to watch the new season of this but it didn't come out! I hope Netflix reconsiders because I've rewatched this after show so many times. Loved this after show (if yknow, you couldn't tell). :)
Black Mirror (2011)
That awesome feeling
Remember that sick twisted feeling you get after watching one of these episodes? Weird right? So skip season 5. Cool ideas, ok tv but horribly written and put together. I don't call season 5 black mirror. It's dumb and just not as gripping as most other seasons. Like remember shut up and dance? Or hang the DJ? Season 5 is not even close to those episodes. Watch it if you please but lower your expectations.
Iron Man Three (2013)
Chill comic people
Ok I don't care that this isn't like the comics because there aren't really any marvel movies exactly like the comics. No one wants to direct a movie that has already been made.
Now that that's out of the way this was a great movie. It showed that without his suits he is still iron man. Tony stark is iron man not his suits. Also this was a great movie in general. I love watching it it Christmas. Best holiday movie ever.
Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012)
I hate the short thing and peaches
The whole arc is soooooo cringe worthy. The rest is ok. Should have stopped after the Dino movie.
Black Mirror: Fifteen Million Merits (2011)
This episode is going to stay with me;
I read reviews saying they did not understand this episode (which could make sense) or that they wanted to see the outside world in this twisted alternative universe but I think that would ruin it. I mean it could turn out pretty cool but I like it being a cliff hanger. How you don't know what it is. This episode was difficult to comprehend but it also tells you things about technology, more specifically how we are reliant on it. These people (I assume) were so reliant on technology that they entered a power crisis. They then had to create other ways to create power, like enslaving all less wealthy people to ride a bike everyday probably forever to gain credits. If they refuse? They aren't executed or anything but much worse, they then cannot but food, cannot change the tv Chanel to stop watching the same poems graphic or fat slob eating contest for days on end. This is just so hard to understand tho which I think is why so many people don't get it. The acting and performances were in my opinion amazing. I couldn't find a flaw in this episode.
