Inside No. 9: Once Removed (2018)
British Memento
This episode just blew my mind with the backwards storytelling, and I definitely couldn't have predicted the twist at the end either! It was very funny as well, I love the use of double meanings throughout the entire episode.
(SPOILER) Also the irony that the contract killer managed to kill every person involved except for his target was glorious.
WandaVision: On a Very Special Episode... (2021)
Oh man, that ending!
As a big fan of the X-Men, I am really happy to see this crossover finally happening! Quicksilver was one of the best characters, and he manages to shine even in the worst X-Men movies.
I hope this means we'll get more characters in the future, like Magneto (Quicksilver and Wanda's father) and others. I am so glad to see these characters in better hands!
Chronicle (2012)
Amazing movie! I wish I had found it earlier!
I can't believe it took me this long to find this movie! It is incredible! Too bad that it's way too short, there was so much more stuff I wanted to see from this and the ending is very sudden.
I really really liked how they showed what you could actually if you had superpowers in the real world. But I just wanted more, you know? Like, what would it be like to fly all the way to the Tibet by yourself? How long would it take? What other crazy stuff can you do? How can you make money with the power?
PS: NOT BY FREAKING STEALING! Sorry, that part was terrible, he could make money so many ways with that power, like, you know, magic? Transporting stuff? Being a camera man? Come on... the movie was doing so well, I hate that they went the easy route there, but it doesn't ruin the movie.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: McPoyle vs. Ponderosa: The Trial of the Century (2016)
I can't believe after 11 seasons this show is still this GREAT!
I started watching It's Always Sunny recently, and considering the show has 14 seasons I was expecting the show to drop in quality at some point. However, I was completely wrong, here I am at season 11 and the episodes are still incredible!
In this episode, we finally see the consequences of this show's "Red Wedding" in the form of a lawsuit against Bill Ponderosa, and we get to see the craziness of both the Ponderosa family and the McPoyles! Plus, we finally get a payoff for Charlie's "Bird Law" that he talks so much about, and (SPOILERS) the fact that it pretty much wins the case was hilarious!
The creativity of the creators of the show impresses me so much, and that's why I wanted to leave this review :)
The Boys: Over the Hill with the Swords of a Thousand Men (2020)
I didn't know it was possible for me to hate someone more than I hate Homelander
But Stormfront... SHE DID IT! What an absolutely DISGUSTING human being! I'm not sure I can swear here but if I could I would! I thought we were gonna see our little Jedi/Daniel from LIS 2 superhero for many more episodes, especially with how powerful he was and what he did to Homelander, but nope, not anymore...
(And telekinesis is the coolest power in the show so far, but RIP)
Anyways, loved the episode :)
Dark: Zwischen der Zeit (2020)
That scene...
I cannot put into words how much I loved this episode. But I don't wanna write an essay so I'm just gonna talk about the music scene. It was... sublime: we see the same scenes as before, but now 33 years have passed for us, we've seen the complete cycle and now the main characters inverted!
1 - The Stranger meets Jonas, except the Stranger is now our Jonas
2 - Noah meets Bartosz, except we've being following Noah now
3 - Claudia meets younger Claudia, but now we're following Older Claudia
4 - The Stranger meets Jonas, but now we've seen him stranded in the wasteland for 33 years
5 - Noah finds out the truth, but now we're with him
6 - Jonas and Martha finally meet and Adam kills her, but now... we've been following Adam...
I'm actually crying right now after rewatching that scene. I can't express with words how much I love it. It's incredible, it's unbelievable, it's sublime. Might be my favorite episode/scene ever, of anything really! Maybe I'm going too far, but it really impacted me
The Cabin in the Woods (2011)
I never thought I'd ever see an SCP movie and it's glorious
To begin, I went into this movie knowing there would be some similarity to the SCP Foundation, which I am a big fan of. I imagined it would be something related to the monsters, but I definitely didn't expect there to be an actual Foundation in the film, so that was already pretty cool! Also I know the movie isn't actually related to SCP, but the similarities are striking.
So, for most of the movie it was just ok, quite interesting to see the agents follow a very complex containment procedure, similar to that of SCP 2845(The Deer). Another interesting thing is how funny the movie is, I wasn't expecting a comedic side to this but I think it worked really well! (Which is interesting the the SCP Wiki also has a comedic side to it, with -J SCPs and lighthearted characters like Dr Bright)
But that doesn't warrant a 10/10 for me. No, no, the movie would have to go further for that. And it DID! The final 20 or so minutes manage to not only give us a better look at the foundation with its creatures, but also showed us a full blown Containment Breach!
And as the cherry on top, they end the movie with an XK-Class End-of-the-World Scenario! I guess that kinda ruins any hope for a sequel, but I'm okay with that. Anyways, amazing movie!
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Shattered (2020)
That Scene with Rex...
All of the connection created between the clones and the Jedi, the humanization of the clones, throughout the entire series, it has all led to this moment!
When Rex dropped his helmet and cried before shooting at Ahsoka... that was truly heart breaking. It means the Clones felt pain when they killed their Jedi Generals, it really gives Order 66 a whole new perspective. Gotta admit I cried at that moment
