Did Zack forgot how to write characters?
24 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A beautiful mess with an extremely lackluster plot and characters. The world-building is there and you can see that the world that Zack has been building for years now feels loved in. However, with a big assemble of characters, Zack makes no effort into making the audience care in the slightest about any of them. Besides Jimmy (the robot), Sam (the water girl) and Aris (the soldier boy that tried to safe Sam) are the only characters that have a semblance of relatability but, none of them have more than 5 minutes of screen-time.

Rebel Moon part 1 feels like a 1/3 of a movie that, when we reach the end, you would think that you were watching the mid point of the movie. However, after almost two hours of assembling a boring team (with the exception of Nemesis and Tarak) that should have not taken more than 20 minutes of screen time, you realize that there is less then 10 minutes remaining in the movie. The current trend of splitting movies into two parters instead of telling a full story in one sitting is one of the main reasons the movie feels unfinished.

Just like I mention before, Zack's glorious and beautiful cinematography and art direction is all over the place in this movie. However, a beautiful BAD movie is still a BAD movie. And Rebel Moon Part One: Child of Fire is a bad movie.

Mas as bad as I thought
22 January 2021
I was expecting this to be a bad adaptation, I ended up really liking it, was definitely not expecting it to be good but it actually is. It's very different form the original show and that can be seen in the trailers, the trailers were bad for my taste. I recommend you giving it a try just like I did, maybe you'll enjoy it.

Good for a ending
6 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand why this wasn't the original ending, maybe they wanted a cliffhanger in the season 1 finale. But this is actually really good, after Trigon's defeat we can feel a lighter tone to the show, it still has the awful blue filter but I hope it's gone by next weeks episode. Loved it
