Saturday Night Live: Kristen Wiig/Dua Lipa (2020)
Undoubtably worst episode this season
This reminded me why I quit SNL until recent years. The episode was like the show was maybe 10 years ago; aggravatingly not funny. Probably the only decent segment was News Update. It could be I'm not hip enough to appreciate this brand of (seemingly stale, quite boring) humor. No matter. Not for me. Was really digging the rest of this season so far. Maybe the brand of (attempted) humor is tailored to the host?
The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight (1971)
Maybe if it's on tv it's okay to watch, but definitely don't seek it out
It is distracting how often it is the dialogue is out of sync with the action on screen.
when they're trying to be funny (pretty much the entire time) it's not funny; not even a little
The lion was probably mistreated. I don't like this.
I don't believe the midget's voice was authentic; rather, it was probably dubbed. This was also a distraction
Deadly Friend (1986)
enjoyable throwback to 80s saturday morning show & campy gore flick
Does feel somewhat disjointed in tone, alternating between 80s saturday morning kids shows and gore-camp. Actors put on solid performances. If you were into the saturday morning scene then this show will be a enjoyable throwback.
Would be cool to see Craven's original edit, before WB studio intervened.
Cinderella Liberty (1973)
barely worth seeing, only if you're into 70s-80s movies
How passable movies used to be - no flair or special effects, just solid & convincing enough acting. I don't regret seeing.
