Made for Love (2021)
Great show & perfect casting!
SPOILERS!!!
I felt this was a great show and the casting was spot. Each episode definitely wanted you to come back for more. Which speaking on episodes, I felt the 30 min length of them would've been much better if it had at least been 45 minutes, seeing as how they kind of left us with a cliff hanger at the end and only giving us 8 episodes.
I do hope that the show comes out with a second season. Because they sorta just left it with "welp she's moving back to the hub to save her father". What's next? I never read the book. It's definitely given me inspiration to read the book. Does Hazel get the chip out? What happens with the launch of the chip on the future? And does Byron stick to his word to Hazel? Those are my personal questions after the end of the season.
I do enjoy the dark humor and sarcasm! We don't see enough of that these days! I love how Hazel is understanding and supportive of "Diane", for her father's sake. I really really would love a season 2! Please!!
Normal People (2020)
Amazing!
I binged all 12 episodes in less than 48 hours (and I have four kids lol)! This show gives you highs and lows. It's intense. It's real. It's THE best show I have watched in such a long time. Way to go to Hulu and the BBC. I'm in the US. So I didn't know of this show until it hit Hulu. I cried every episode. And it takes a lot for me to cry in shows and movies. And it wasn't necessarily sad tears. They were happy ones too. Parent advisory: Not the best to watch with little ones. I watched it on my phone. It's definitely for a mature audience.
Anyway, if you haven't yet watched this show, I highly highly recommend it. You won't regret it!
The Vampire Diaries (2009)
Love! I've rewatched a couple times
I absolutely love this show! It may take place in a high school setting (and I'm way past high school lol), but it had me hooked from the start! I was so sad when it had ended. I haven't been able to really get into "The Originals" spin-off, and I've watched some of "Legacies"... but neither of them got me hooked like this one did. I've watched it a couple of times over the years.
Nancy Drew (2019)
May not be the Nancy Drew we all knew growing up, but definitely an amazing show!
I understand the negative reviews to this show. Because growing up we all knew Nancy Drew as a much different character as what she portrays in this series. BUT with that being said, it doesn't mean this is a "horrible" show. I actually love the spin they took on Nancy's character. Even as a die hard old school Nancy Drew book fan. Sometimes we have to be open to a little change! This show keeps me at the edge of my seat constantly. It's interesting, a bit creepy and has lots of drama to keep us locked in! It's hard for old school Nancy Drew fans to see her be any different than the books. So I know that's how the reviews became so negative. But try it out for yourself before just ignoring because of those reviews. You may find this show is more interesting than people are saying on here! It gets more and more interesting with each episode as well. With its twists and reveals of things. I just love it. And I'm 34 years old... so it's not JUST for teens. Although I'm sure more teens than adults watch it lol! But I love it anyhow!
Truth Be Told (2019)
A must see!
This show is one of the best shows I have ever seen! I like so many different shows and watch many different types of shows. But I haven't yet watched a show that is anything like Truth Be Told. It's so different from anything else. And each episode kept my attention 100% of the time. And kept me wanting more. I just finished the last episode of the season, released today. I know it's a limited series and I'm not sure what they could do with another season. But the last episode definitely left me wanting another season! I hope they decide to continue the series for another season! I'd love to see what the future holds for everyone in the series! Definitely a must see and so worth an Apple TV+ subscription if you don't already have one!
A Frosty Affair (2015)
Although cute in the end... took a while to get there
I definitely thought that this ending was sweet. But the beginning and middle were slow. And that's what makes a movie. It's worth a first watch, if you're like me and love romantic Christmas movies. But I definitely won't be watching again :-/. As much as I dislike giving a review as such, I want to be honest! Maybe you will find it more romantic than I did!
