Gone (2011)
Typical "Not my son!"
These parents raise their children and tell them "you can be anything you want to be". Never teaching them the realities of life. The parents soke their own lives in immortality and confuse these growing teenage minds with "religious fortitude" and the pressure to live up to being "accepted" by God, yet hypocrites to their own pressures. Thus confusing the heck out of these boys and girls. These kids become young adults confused about life. Many times abused .. and mom is oblivious to the abuse. Sex, drugs and being utterly lost about life and God in their mid-teens.. these kids then venture out into life often rushing into the riskiest lifestyles .. and this is when mom adopts that moniker "not my son" and "I have to let him be who he wants to be" yet deep inside saying "if I tell him no, I am gonna loose him" ..only making the situation worse. Take all of this and then allowing a young man like this to go to a foreign country ..and you have the story of Aeryn Gillern.
His disappearance is "the end" result of a lost soul. One look at the guy and you see a smiling face, but underneath it all a young man crying out for understanding in a lost/confused life.
The Case Against Adnan Syed (2019)
Where is the point??
A bunch of convoluted stories and relationships trying to put SPIN on the fact that this guy is as guilty as they come. This is a very biased view into this case that leaves out critical evidence.

Just Mercy (2019)
No character development at all
Maybe dipping into who Walter McMillian was as a man, as a father, and as a husband was a risky proposition, considering he wasn't a "good man". A cheating husband with 9 children at home .. Maybe its hard to go back into his past and find appealing qualities. Maybe that is why this story lacks character development? I don't know.
In any case, it lacks that personal connection with the people involved. Its hard to feel what they feel. It was hard to get a sense of McMillian's pain (which I am sure he felt). ... Then adding a fictitious stories like police in 1990s pulling over the black attorney without cause and putting a gun to his head, but to cause him fear for representing a convicted black man, it takes away from the depth of the real events.
Had the movie focused on Bryan Stevenson's tireless fight for justice, and the true facts of the injustices he fought against, it may have worked. ... Sadly, I was left not knowing who Bryan Stevenson was. I was left wondering why he was a man who allowed prison guards to illegally strip search him. Who was that man? The inner person? I think the movie missed the opportunity to reveal the depth of his character ... and others too.
Dream/Killer (2015)
Kevin Crane is a dirtbag!
Man ... I just love the simpleness of Ryan's and his father's love for one another!! I hope jail didn't ruin the person he can be!! ... Its heartbreaking to see stuff like this. And a damn shame people like Kevin Crane "thrive" in the world we live in!!
The Detectives: Murder on the Streets (2017)
Very well done!
Insider view on how detectives tighten the noose on the criminal.
Unbelievable (2019)
Awesomely good!!
If you want to capture real emotion of what victims go through, this is your series! ... Watch this series!! Best I have seen in a long while!
The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair (2018)
Too much going on
Nola goes from having a special innocence to having a deep dark secret to being an absolutely broken human being!! ..and quite frankly, it all never adds up!
Living on the edge of "forbidden love" ... hits a strong chord. But many of the "twist" seem forced and don't live up to the idea of the characters that have been developed throughout the story. Some "twists" are too dramatic or wayyyy off base. Others will leave you scratching your head saying "huh!?"
The Murder of Laci Peterson (2017)
Poking holes in the case
This documentary was well put together. I enjoyed watching it. All in all, they poked holes in the idea of Scot Peterson's involvement in his wife's murder, but there was still substantial evidence of his guilt. What does jump out at you is the fact that police officers are framing cases against people when the evidence is not there. Lying, leaving critical parts of statements out, even planting evidence seems to be a universal ideal nowadays. And they use the media as outlets for false information to corrupt a fair trial. Sad. The series was great, cops framing cases is sad.
The Eleven (2017)
Got to be kidding me!!
This is like a bad mix of alien sitings and mixing that with real live murders. They should change the title to "When Lunatics Investigate". The man who confessed to these murders talks about being in a government program that had him committing sex crimes at 3 years old. For no apparent reason this guy confesses 25+ years later. The ACTUAL KILLER took means to keep his identity unknown.

The Five (2016)
Stupid ending
Watched the entire series, only to be very disappointed. The ending where Karl is Jesse made no sense. Karl was throwing a charity event, seen dancing at it, and at very the same time Mark was in the woods chasing "Jesse" into a building. If Karl is Jesse, he can't be in two places at same time.
The hook was great .. missing child's DNA at murder scene captures you. But then there is really no follow up on that but repeatedly saying "DNA found at the scene" ..like where was the DNA? Was it under the fingernails? Very vague started to get redundant. Then a cop planting evidence at another murder scene just lacks substance. Risk his job, for what? Makes no sense.
As a viewer, I want a plot that makes sense. The ending twists are just plain stupid (sorry I can't think of a better word). Then when you watch a show like this and in your own mind eliminate suspects because he/she can't be in two places at one time, and somehow it is that person, just ruins it all because it makes no sense. Yeah I watched entire series, but was horribly disappointed.
