Forensic Files (1996–2011)
10/10
The absolute best of the best

Forensic Files (the original series narrated by Peter Thomas) is, the best crime documentary shows ever created. I also think that narrator Peter Thomas, who passed away in 2016, had much, if not EVERYTHING to do with it. His voice, his timing was so compelling that it really added to the suspense and dramatic effect of the show.

Investigative Reports (1991–2011)
8/10
Thought provoking and EXTREMELY informative

I LOVE this show!!! The often controversial subject matter covered in many episodes is interesting in of itself. In addition, Bill Kurtis is a SUPERB journalist and narrator, who keeps a good quick pace yet he's thorough in covering the material at hand. I also enjoy the "whistle-blowing" vibe of Investigative Reports. Bill Kurtis and his staff do a fantastic job of presenting their findings in a manner that holds one's interest WITHOUT HAVING TO RESORT to SENSATIONALISM. That, in of itself, is quite an accomplishments! I only have one less than-glowing comment, )(and this has NOTHING to do with the show in any way) , the station on which it airs in the city I Iive (Denver, is the Justice Network. While I enjoy much of that station's programming, they also have a tendency to show a limited number of episodes over and over. They do this with Forensic Files, which also had a 20 year run! (1996-2016 until Peter Thomas passed away). With 20 years worth of episodes, one would think that it'd be a long time before repeat episodes.
