Half of a half (2020)
Well Balanced But Short Series
Having heard that this series didn't do as well as expected on Korean TV, I was prepared for disappointment. Turned out to be a lovely combination of beautifully nuanced performances, well written script, and believable characters and situations. Storyline dealt skillfully with love, friendship, longing, separation, despair, loss, and guilt. I'm a huge fan of K-Dramas (Mr. Sunshine, Korean Odyssey, and Goblin being three of my favs). This program was a nice change of pace from the histrionics and over-the-top characters in some of the unbelievable, but thoroughly enjoyable, Korean programs available for streaming. The piano interludes were also a pleasure. PS, would kill for the AI capability (if it existed) that plays an important role in the emotional progression of the main characters.
My Holo Love (2020)
Lightweight Fantasy
This show is a bit on the slim side but overall is an enjoyable "tech" fantasy. Found the romances predictable as well as the villians and could see the plot twists way ahead of the characters. Regardless, it's an entertaining piece of fluff populated with some of my favorite Korean supporting actors and actresses.
Sarangeui bulsachak (2019)
Enjoyable Combo
Recommend giving this KDrama a try. It's an entertaining combination of fluff, romance, drama, and political/police procedural. The cast and characters they portray are engaging and fun to watch (even the "over the top" villain). Looking forward to seeing how the story will resolve considering the complexity of the North/South Korea situation. Can't wait for to the next episodes to air on Netflix.
