Mid90s (2018)
10/10
One of the best movies for this generation
13 January 2019
(And the one before) Mid90s is such a heart twisting movie that I physically felt myself getting unease followed by relief through out different parts of the film. My favorite part was the actors didn't seem like they had a script to follow, especially when it was just the guys hanging out. I enjoyed the coming of age feel from a different time setting than we're in now. One of my new favorites to admire and relish in. Recommended to not just anyone, but those see fit to experience male adolescent in a way that is understood. Shot beautifully, the upcoming actors brought this alive through exciting energy

Beautiful Boy (I) (2018)
10/10
Powerful
12 January 2019
This movie is so important, it's real and raw and everything that it needs to be. Beautiful boy grabbed my heart intensely and there wasn't a scene I was drifting away from. Timotheé was wonderful, the scenery was amazing but the story itself was ugly, nasty, but more so realistic in ways that cinema doesn't dare reel into. Cut black and white to print the grey areas. Everything.

A great feel good Christmas movie where she tries to get ahead in her career and falls for the prince. It's insanely cliche but nice to watch this time of year. Very sentimental and right on the part for both lead actors. It's more of a judgement and getting to know story but that's what makes it predictable and heartwarming. Netflix did a good job with this and the sequel

A classic
24 December 2018
Real feel good and important for me to watch. Anne Hathaway is a natural in how funny and beautiful she is. I hadn't seen this movie in ages but re-watching it made me fall in love with the message all over again. I'm happy for movies like these because of how enduring they are. Glad this was added onto Netflix because I will continue to watch this amazing movie

Miss Stevens (2016)
10/10
One of my new favorites
24 December 2018
Loved the story told. I am a big fan of Timothee from other movie roles as well as Lily (from AHS) and Lili (Riverdale) so I was curious to see how varied their acting roles would play out together. I was quickly engrossed with the story of Miss Stevens from the get go, the kids' acting and how it ties together in the end is really heart warming and I would definitely watch again. The film itself is visually beautiful. I can't believe this wasn't as big seeing how they're all incredible actors. It's more than a coming of age story, unforgettable. Timothee's monologue nearing the end is reason alone to watch it

I can see why it's a classic
14 November 2018
I won't hold this movie made in 1984 to a late 2018 standard but as a rightful classic, this movie was point blank terrifying. I had never heard of a child ranking up a cult. When Burt started to go crazy at how normal this had all been... I nearly lost it! I'd never agreed with a character more, even considering how much I love a good antagonist. Apparently there are more movies as this is a franchise, but this one was scary enough and I'm satisfied with the ending. Great movie for autumn.

Went from wanting to laugh to wanting to cry
20 October 2018
At first while reading the netflix summary I thought this was going to be a slapstick comedy but right as the beginning scene started I felt a sense of unease because I didn't know what I was getting myself into... I felt for the boys, they were so secluded and wrapped up with each other's mothers... how casual both relationships were until it was hard to resume, really made the story line interesting. I don't think either getting married and having children was a smart idea, and could've been left out but other than that true to the end I was relieved at how everything played out. Intriguing, Anne Fontaine did a wonderful job with this one

A great laugh
30 September 2018
I just wanted to sit and laugh and this movie did just that. It's older than I am, I had only found out about it since it was added onto netlfix and I don't get some of the humor but Adam is so funny on his own and the story line makes sense so I enjoyed this one. I was also on the edge of my seat about grandma throughout the movie, love her character as well. Glad people find this as a happy (no pun) film to remember.

Love Harry
30 September 2018
I'm surprised I sat through this whole thing at all in 2018. I love harry more than life and I would love to watch back his cute moments but it's almost weird to think I actually liked the way they used to act (don't know if they still do now though, other than Zayn and Harry haven't kept up with the others. Maybe it was just adolescence but I've definitely grown up from enjoying this. Anyways I'm giving a high rating for harry because ugh hes so darn cute i could watch him forever

Nails (I) (2017)

Nightmare Worthy.
26 August 2018
It's been a while since I've sat down to watch an actual scary movie and maybe that's why Nails scared me the way it did. The storyline itself was a little slow but was amazing and did make sense, as did the ending... unlike the usual cliffhanger that horror movies let you interpret. I was even tempted to turn it off and finish it another time because it got so late, nonetheless I was terrified by the ending.

Everything I love!
18 August 2018
Amazing right from the start. It's refreshing to see a movie where sisters are more than just side characters. The romance is different of course, but that's what makes it so much fun! There wasn't a dull moment and these actors really showed how much fun they were having. Ending was to die for, so happy with this one.

SO good.

This is one of my favorite movies made in 2018 so far. The casting is incredible, the storyline is one I personally find both intriguing and can relate to. I really enjoyed this one a lot.

Room (I) (2015)

An emotional roller coaster.
31 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I came across this movie because of the picture it had on Netflix, decided to give it five minutes to see if it were another typical hour long movie with no real conclusion but Room did not disappoint. Every minute in this movie is so precious, the aftermath of getting rescued ties it all in and it's not only downhill from there but a whirlwind of emotions.
