The Rookie: The List (2023)
Back to nonsense messaging and bad writing
This whole episode hinges on the line "Leave it up to a good guy with a gun to mess things up." In todays society, where cops leave children alone and helpless in active shooter situations, and where there are many stories of lives being saved by responsible gun owners, this episode's messaging is not only incorrect, but its harmful disinformation. Besides that, the writing in general is poor. The acting is stiff. The wokeness is overtaking the content again. I had stopped watching the show in season 4. Then I heard this season had gotten better, which it had. Too bad they just can't allow themselves to focus on excellent writing and storytelling.
Prey (2022)
Disappointment
The cinematography was probably my favorite aspect of the movie. The writing and the dialogue were nearly unbearable. If it was truly as good as some of the reviews are pretending, it wouldnt have been released straight to Hulu.
The Rookie (2018)
Stop watching after Season 1
Trust me. Its just a painful unwatchable mess. There are a few high points- especially storylines around Shawn Ashmore's character. But overall, its not worth watching. If you want something great to watch, try Longmire.
The Rookie: Enervo (2022)
Not sure how much longer I can watch this
Season 1 was great- fun, exciting, decent writing. By Season 3, the shown was pretty much unwatchable. Season 4 started out a little better and I had hope again... but its back to nonsense. Really sad. I think I'll give the show one last episode after this.
Edit: I was nearly halfway through the episode when I wrote the above. I couldn't finish it. Stopped the episode and removed it from "My List." I give up.
Single Drunk Female (2022)
Funny, witty, real
I really enjoyed the first two episodes so far. Good writing. Genuinely funny. It explores woke ideology without pushing it on you... some of it is even approached critically. Mainly it shows what it's like to live in modern society and be a bit confused by it all. I'm male and lean towards conservative and I genuinely enjoyed the first the first two episodes so far.
Ocean's Eight (2018)
I wanted to like it...
But couldn't even finish it. I was watching free on a streaming site. I love Sandra Bullock and the movie has a great cast. I just kept waiting for something interesting, until I gave up.
Stumptown (2019)
Worth watching. Witty dialogue and good acting.
