Animal (I) (2023)

So Long but felt Short

When I say movie was long but felt short - it's both a praise and it's short coming.

Praise because it never really is boring - lots of action and decent story, especially in the first part keeps the audience engaged. Part of brother in law is very interesting (which is an old plot from great movies of past).

Short coming because there is not enough meat there, the movie is lacking any depth. Our antagonist is not fleshed out at all, there is nothing to his character, he should have been given at least 15 more minutes to develop.

Back story about the grandfather or the father of the main character could have been used to add layers to the story.

All in all an ok movie, nothing special.

Chris Rock: Selective Outrage (2023)

Bad bad Stand up

I have seen Chris Rock comedy and he used to make me laugh - from lol moments to thinking laughter moment's where you completely agree with his point and find the delivery amusing.

BUT this show had none of that, except when he comes to Will Smith in the end - and even that was not to the level of old Chris Rock. When he finally came to the Will Smith part I was waiting that now he will deliver that Chris rock slam dunk, but it never came.

I don't get the good reviews, may be some people liked it or some die hard fans just want to see him speak, but if you are a fan of Dave Chappelle or even old Chris Rock this stand up bombed.

Dobaaraa (2022)

Solid Movie

I had skipped this movie because of the bad reviews here on IMBd earlier, and I was gonna skip it again but because of Anuran Kashap and not too many other Hindi options I gave the movie a try.

Secondly I have not watched Mirage (2018 film) - so if you have seen that movie than I can't tell if you will like this movie or not.

Finally the movie - I was blown away by how good the movie was.

The main twist which comes in the first half of the movie is something we never see in any Hindi movie. For most of the movie you are on edge of your seat.

Last 30 mins could have been better that's why I will give 8.5/10

I would definitely recommend this movie!

Reason for all the bad reviews: Indian far right Hindus do not like Tapasse Pannu, and also Anuran, as they do not walk the line set up by their overlords.

So watch the movie if you have Netflix and thank me later.

Moosa Jatt (2021)

Decent Punjabi Movie

This being the Sidhu's first movie I did not have much expectations from it, but it turned out to be a decent movie. Story is good, Sidhu did much better acting than most of the other Punjabi singers did in their first movies.

No real story - Action Movie

Saw this movie on Netflix thinking it would be a solid 6.5-7, but no this movie had no story line, very average acting - All in all not more than 5/10 - Audience which is used to watching decent stuff, they will find this movie not rewarding at all.

Highly Underrated Movie - true Film noir

Everything about this move

• I am little biased as I love suspense movies, especially where a detective is involved
• Script is great, very meaty, non linear & exiting
• Great actors
• A beautiful actress( or actresses), who for a change also know how to act.

All in all fully entertaining movie.

Want to fall in love

Heard about this movie sometime after 2015, finally saw the movie in 2020. What can I say, now my favorite romantic movie by far!! Want to fall in love again after a long time.

What a beautiful movie, the natural conversations, great direction, acting and the star of the movie "locations" All this put together takes you to a magical word which most probably doesn't exist in the real world.
