Inventing Anna (2022)
Good acting but Horrendous characters!
Though the acting was done well, the whole show is basically glorifying sociopaths, human shallowness, toxic hustle culture and even tries to play a feminist card at times as in "Men get away with worse, why should a woman be found guilty for lesser crimes." Disgusting. Equality is not about that at all.
Blind loyalty to a freaking sociopathic individual, an evil narcissist, sends a bad message as well. If the friendships portrayed in this appalling story are truly a reflection of what Americans consider a friendship, I am at a loss for words. The work culture portrayed there is equally appalling, example: having your water break while at work and neglect the safety of your baby because you're so obsessed by a sociopath and your career-comeback and continual neglect of the newborn after is NOT ok and should not be considered a virtue of hard work. Same goes for the lawyer, prioritising a horrible horrible person over his family - again sending a wrong message. There's just too much toxicity to list here now. It's all just a glorification of a very toxic work/friendship culture. The worst thing is this freaking criminal narcissist is benefiting from her crimes now.
