Future World (2018)
What just happened.
Someone started out to make a good movie, somewhere along the way they made Furture World instead.
I really like the general idea behind the plot, someone else should have wrote the screenplay though. The dialog was lackluster and felt forced. Lots of times I was left scratching my head wondering why the characters are saying what they are saying?
Suki Waterhouse gave a decent performance as an android. She played the emotionless part well.
Action scenes were fun to watch. But that's where the fun stopped.
Unless you're a fan of bad movies, skip this. If you enjoy bad movies, spark up and laugh at The Room level dialog.
The Bad Batch (2016)
Underrated movie
This isnt an action packed movie, but I didnt find myself bored watching.
Plot - Those unwanted by society are tattooed and dropped of in a desert wasteland to fend for themselves and survive. From drug use to cannibalism, those considered the Bad Batch do just that... cope and survive. Overall the plot was decent, with a central message. The protagonist overcame external and internal obstacles.
Acting -
Jason Mamoa played the part of the strong silent type very well.
Suki Waterhouse was fairly decent... although she seemed to drop her accent multiple times.
Overall the acting was mediocre.
Cinematography -
Lots of great shots. The camera definitely played it's part in telling the story.
If you can enjoy a slow movie, you'll enjoy the bad batch. If you're looking for an action packed ball buster, this isnt the movie for you.
The Hunted (2013)
Blair Witch meets generic hunting show.
Great directorial debut.
The plot is actually fairly good. Two men set out on a hunting trip filming in an attempt to start a new hunting show.
"I just hope we have enough to show the programming people what our show would look like" - Jake
Hopefully better camera work than what's showcased in The Hunted.
Frequently subjects are out of focus. Poor lighting. Extremely noisy footage. Somethings looked kinda like a poorly done green screen.
Despite the horrible camera work, I thought the movie was fairly scary. It builds tension well, the screams caused me to jump several times!
The acting was done fairly well. The dialog felt organic. The plot was great. I think this may have been a little too ambitious for the budget, or skillset.
Overall The Hunted is definitely worth the watch.
