Dirilis: Ertugrul (2014–2019)
10/10
Better than expected
15 May 2023
I don't exactly recollect how I came across this series, but now I am thankful that I did. The story, the screenplay, the music, the direction and the acting - are all top notch. It gives the viewer a new perspective into the religious conspiracies and feuds which happened several centuries ago.

The charisma which the lead actor brings on the screen is simply amazing, giving many of the A-list Hollywood actors a run for their money. The plot twists and suspense keeps you eagerly awaiting, thinking what is going to happen next. If you are looking for a historical action drama, look no further - Dirilis Ertugrul will be more than entertaining.

Black Sails: XXXVII. (2017)

Can't wait for the finale
29 March 2017
To me this has to be one of the best episodes. I can almost see Billy Bones trudging along to the Admiral Benbow dragging his heavy sea chest behind him at the end of the series. There is still so much left to the imagination of the viewer that it is difficult to imagine how it is going to end. The setting of the island, and how the writers have portrayed the relationship between Silver and Flint is quite extraordinary. Eagerly waiting for the finale.

Treasure Island (1990 TV Movie)
9/10
One of the best adaptations of the book
3 July 2016
As a young lad, I was fascinated when I read Treasure Island for the first time. I have read it multiple times since, and when I came to know about this film, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. This movie is by far one of the best adaptations of the original book which I have come across. The actors have done a thoroughly admirable job and a young Christian Bale had shown early on in his career what he is capable of. Charlton Heston did well as Long John Silver, as did Julian Glover as the doctor. Not much from the original book has been lost, with much of the main content kept intact, thus the 2 hours 10 minutes run time. But every minute will keep you engrossed to your screens. A must see film for anyone who enjoyed the book.

One of the best reproductions of a fictional character
16 August 2015
I am a huge fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's works and came across "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" quite by accident. What immediately struck my attention was how good the characters were portrayed - Jeremy Brett has delivered an outstanding depiction of the famous sleuth. The location settings takes you back to the time when the events were supposed to have happened with almost every little detail intact.I only wish the filming was done for all the stories in the Sherlock Holmes series (some of the cases in the book were not filmed). I have also watched Hercule Poirot series(another of my favorite), but i felt that the reproduction was not as good as Sherlock Holmes. All in all, this is a must watch for every SH fan.

The Wonder Years (1988–1993)
10/10
A show for all ages
13 July 2010
Wonder years is a rarity among the modern day sitcoms. To be honest, i have never seen anything like this my whole life. It tells the story of young Kevin Arnold(Fred Savage) between the time he starts junior high and finishes high school. The whole series is presented to the viewer as a narration. Kevin lives in a quiet suburb with his family. His childhood sweetheart Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar) and Paul Pfieffer(Josh Saviano) live next door, with whom he spends most of his time. This show made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me think about friendship and family bonding. It reminded me of my childhood and about the things which i did and did not. Altogether, a wonderful experience for the young and the old alike. I am sorry that this great show has not made a debut on DVD because of licensing issues. I hope some day the producers would release the DVD so that this dramatic gem is not lost in the tides of time. If you get an opportunity to watch a taped version, don't miss it...

Office Space (1999)
9/10
I love this movie
15 March 2009
I first saw office space on one of my co-worker's recommendation. It was such a fun movie that it keeps you glued to the screen from the beginning to the end. Although the plot at the later part of the movie might be a little far fetched, it still manages to deliver some good comedy. Some of the scenes very nearly had me falling off the chair, laughing. The film exactly portrays the trials and tribulations faced by an average citizen(and his co-workers) working in a software company. It was kind of surprising to note how much the movie had in common with many of us, who work in a similar environments. This movie is a real stress buster, and i would highly recommend this to anyone who needs to take some time out from their day-to-day routine. Overall, a fun movie with watch. I give it 9/10.

One of the best ever
25 January 2009
I came to know about the mysterious cities of gold from an internet forum and was most intrigued by the plot summary. So when I finally got the DVD, I couldn't wait to finish watching the series.

And it didn't disappoint me a single bit. Right from the beginning, it keeps the viewers glued to their screens keeping them in anticipation of what is going to happen next. All 3 central characters-Esteban, Zia and Tao have been excellently portrayed and they are superbly supported by Mendoza and other characters.

The music is very absorbing and blends with the scenarios brilliantly. This is one of the few cartoons that has really stood the tests of time.I would highly recommend this to any cartoon lover.

I give it a 10/10.
