Terrible
20 March 2023
6.8?!?! How is this rated higher than the 1989 sequel?!?

This movie was awful. Like, really bad. I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan, but this was not it. Such a pointless movie to make, terribly acted and I'm pretty sure the rating was rigged somehow. Either that, or people have terrible taste in movies. The other three movies in the franchise were great, but this was horrible. Only thing remotely enjoyable (if I had to choose SOMETHING) was the cameo appearances by some of the original cast. Other than that... ummm... hmmm... cure for insomnia.

And that's it. Don't waste you time. Watch anything else.....

Taxi Driver (1976)
10/10
Changes The Way You View Movies
13 October 2022
I was one of very few who had never seen Taxi Driver. I knew of it, knew it was critically acclaimed, but nothing about it had really grabbed my attention. One night, with nothing else to watch, my wife and I decided to give it a shot. Wish I had done so earlier. It instantly became one of my favourite movies of all-time. I felt such a strong connection and relatability to Travis. Everything about this movie just hits you in a unique way. It's shot perfectly and the score, composed by Bernard Herrmann is beautiful. When I titled this review as "Changes The Way You View Movies", I meant it. I became introspective about the films I usually watched and realized how this was on such a different level. Immediately after watching it, I purchased both the Blu-Ray and the Official Score on CD. If you've never seen this, do it! Trust me, you won't regret it!

Joker (I) (2019)
10/10
A Masterpiece.
6 October 2019
Many reviews here describe the movie as being: amazing, brilliant, a masterpiece and a work of art. None of those descriptions are wrong. The Joker is an extremely dark, powerful look into the mind of a man quickly descending into his own madness and inability to cope with the harsh, cruel world that surrounds him. In a cinematic world that's currently dominated by comic book movies laced with humour and CGI FX, it's ironic that a movie about The Joker provides none of that, but instead is the most serious and real of them all.

Halloween (I) (2018)

Complicated opinion....
21 October 2018
I saw it the night before it opened and honestly, I'm not totally sure how to explain how I feel about this movie.

The original is my absolute favourite movie of all-time. So, let's say I give the original 10+/10, easily. My expectations and hopes for this one (going by the trailers and everything I heard about it) was 9.9/10. And it wasn't. 9/10, yes. Was it fantastic? Absolutely. I just wanted it to give me the same feeling I had (and still have) when watching the original. And it simply didn't, unfortunately.

But then I realized, nothing is ever going to and my expectations for it were unreasonable. On it's own, I did love it. I plan on going to see it again, so maybe I'll change my mind upon watching it a second time.

Still a must-see, but don't expect it to be as good as the original.
