Sweet.
31 July 2022
More Than Only is like, if Mormons teamed up with Hallmark and made a gay baby. That's NOT a negative thing, it just is what it is. It's the clean-cut, child-like, sweet, (with one monstrous experience, told off-handedly) gay movie you could watch with your conservative parents. As long as your parents aren't like Justin's controlling, mentally abusive father.

My main criticism would be: the dialog and acting could have been a little more natural, but it was a story with a lot of heart which made up for its flaws.

Beautiful, Moving, Very Human, Tear-Jerker
18 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The first hour builds up the story, in order to get you to FEEL all the pain, hardship and love in the second hour. I stayed up well past my bedtime to watch the entire movie, because I needed to see how it unfolded. I don't think I would have slept without watching it to it's beautiful and buoyant ending. It made me want to watch more Andrew Lau films. If you like movies with "FEELZ," this one will NOT disappoint. Not just for women!

It's worth it just for the fight sequences-Mark is really GREAT! He's not a bad actor. There's nothing bad about this movie, and it makes me want to see more of the star. Now, onto "Enhanced!"

Night Flight is a "Must-Watch," for everyone--even if it may be difficult!
15 March 2021
I just watched, "Night Flight," last night, and found it to be the one of the best gay-themed movies ever made; one of the best films, gay-themed, or not! It's disturbing, tragic, and difficult to watch, at times, due to the gritty, realistic story, excellent writing, and the incredible acting! In between the unfortunate, painful, and acridly, authentic events, are scenes that contain so much humanity; that are so transcendent, and touchingly beautiful -- this movie should NOT be missed!

Exceptional Movie
15 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It is difficult to say a movie about a gang rape is great and recommended, but didn't Jodie Foster star in a movie like that--the Accused? And wasn't it nominated for awards?

This movie is more realistic and more understated.

This is a slow-burning, but gritty movie, well-written and acted. Worth the watch.

Incredible story of perseverance
20 February 2021
This show is now in my top 3. And, PLEASE, watch this, the original Korean series, before somebody decides to "Americanize" it. There are things that can't be converted from Korean to American, without losing too much of its heart, soul, conviction, and tradition. This series is so well-written and conceived, I just get the feeling some American producer will snatch this up.

From the story, to the acting, to how beautifully, and fully-formed the characters are, make this a precious jewel. It has everything a person could want in a great series! Believe me-DO NOT MISS THIS ONE.

One of the best drama series I've ever seen
20 February 2021
This is an adult, well-written, meticulously well-acted, dramatic series, with light humorous moments sprinkled in. It is a story of perseveramce amidst adversity.

The first episode, which contains so much story, in, and of, itself, draws you into what will be an eventful, deep, character-driven roller coaster ride, mostly heading downhill for much of the series. It is certainly dark, mostly serious, but where it leads is worth waiting and watching for.

It depicts life, in many of its worst moments, but it will not make you want to look away. I watched this for 5 days straight, because I cared so much and was anxious to see what would happen next.

This show is now in my top 3. This series is so well-written and conceived--from the story, to the acting, to how beautifully, and fully-formed, the characters are, make this a precious jewel. It has everything a person could want in a great series! Believe me-DO NOT MISS THIS ONE.

Great Story, Great Romance, Great Characters
6 February 2021
First, let me say, this series is in my top 5 KDramas.

As with most KDramas, you have the good guys, the bad guys, and the sexual tension, that you usually know is going to culminate, at some point, with the main characters falling in love. In Rookie Historian (please don't judge by the title), you have so much more.

In Joseon, we have a Prince from the Royal family, Prince Yi Rim, (Cha Eun-Woo), who is not merely gorgeous to look at, but incredibly, well-cast in his role. On the distaff sie, we have actress, Shin Se-Kyung playing the "Rookie Historian" named Goo Hae Ryung. At a time when women don't have any power, are usualy married at 15, and only forced to work if they are low-born, a group of women are given the chance to become "Historians," those who transcribe the words and events of the time, producing volumes of books that are kept as records of each day, of every era. It is a position that is, at once, prestigious, yet, always in the background, and largely unnoticed.

This story takes the position of Historian and places it at the foreground, while including women into the mix, something that is anathema to some, uneasily accepted by others. The women have to work hard to earn the trust and support of the men, who they work with. Does this sound like it's still happening today--of course. This story easily equates to modern times, while taking us back to an era, that recounts palace intrigue, personal relationships, both inside and outside the palace, and, especially, the romanticism that we attribute to times gone by.

There are the tragic backstories, that bring on the "feels," the challenges, the politics, and the back-biting, you'd expect. This series has it all, putting it into a context that is original and , at the same time, incredibly enjoyable.

The characters, actors, and writing are excellent. It was a pleasure to watch--you come to love the characters and care about what happens to them. I think anyone would enjoy this show. Men shouldn't be intimidated by the fact that there is a strong female lead. There is enough action, politicking, back-stabbing, intrigue, and, of course, romance, the worse that could happen is that you might learn something about women while enjoying all those things you expect from a show that is highly entertaining.

Stick with it!
4 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What starts out as a really kooky comedy, has everything you have come to expect from a good KDrama/romcom. It begins with a wacky premise, but along the way evolves into a deeper story involving a tragic history, and finally, a "Happy End."

Great Series
30 January 2021
Let me say, first, that this is a really, wonderful K-Drama, but it's not my favorite. It is up there in my top 5, though.

The writing and the cinematography are excellent, but the very best part about this series are all the extremely lovable characters.

Worth the watch.

My top 10 are, as follows: 1. It's OK to Not Be OK 2. Mr. Sunshine 3. Start-Up (2020) 4. Rookie Historian 5. Crash Landing On You 6. The King:Eternal Monarch 7. Cheese in the Trap 8. A Korean Odyssey 9. DoDoSolSolLaLaSol 10. One Spring Night Sorry, had to add an eleventh... 11. Strongest Deliveryman Honorable mentions: "My Holo Love," "Strangers from Hell," "Vagabond," "The K2," "Something in the Rain," and, "Cinderella and the Four Knights."

Currently watching, "My Sassy Girl" and "The Uncanny Counter," which I'm totally enjoying! If I left out any of YOUR favorites, I probably haven't gotten around to them, yet.

Dumb
30 January 2021
The story was ridiculous and illogical throughout. When you have to hold all the moves of the main characters, and the motivation behind the killings, highly illogical, any enjoyment of the movie suffers. Just poor writing, because the acting, casting, and direction were adequate.

I Loved This Show
22 October 2020
A great action show with plenty of treachery, deceit, and some romance thrown into the mix. Each episode is filled with all of this and always leaves you wanting MORE. My husband, and I, really enjoyed this 16-episode series. There's plenty to keep anyone interested. I DO agree with the other review that Anna is the character most lacking, but the star who plays Je-Ha, along with all the other characters, are, definitely, more than enough to hold anyone's interest!

This Horror Movie Has It All
22 October 2020
A horror movie that has it all: a believable monster, great characters, humor, action, tension. It's a highly entertaining film, well-produced, well-acted, well-written, and excellent direction. Even if you aren't a horror or monster movie aficionado-give it a watch-I think you'll enjoy it. I loved every minute of it.

Fast-paced, Tension-filled, Best Zombie Movie
22 October 2020
The action is fast-paced, non-stop, and this zombie movie is hands down one of the best! If you feel you've seen enough zombie movies, that they are all the same-give this one a try. It will not disappoint.

Wonderful show, wonderful cast
23 August 2020
Each episode of Life In Pieces, is exactly that; it's broken up into pieces, each piece is about different factions of the family, which usually comes together, into a whole at the end. It's a novel premise, well executed, well-written, and well-acted by an excellent ensemble cast.

I, unapologetically, like these stories
26 April 2020
The stories remind me of some of Ray Bradbury's short stories. They have heart and a sweetly reminiscent quality. I enjoyed the first two stories the most. Maybe people were expecting more, but I felt each episode was enjoyable, if not "amazing."

Paranormal Lockdown (2016– )

I enjoy this show
25 April 2016
I've seen every "paranormal" show there is, some are better than others, for example: "Ghost Hunters" used to be the best, while anything with Zak Bagans is the worst.

Most of the shows where the victims just tell the story and/or there are re-enactments, are usually not very scary, although, "A Haunting," is pretty scary.

But, this show has two, very likable and believable hosts, scary settings, depend mostly upon EVPs and "things that go bump in the night."

I enjoy this one.

I'd really like to know what the title song is and who does it.

Entertainment Incarnate
25 June 2015
I never watched Buffy when originally aired. I am now 62 years old, and watched the entire series on Netflix. I am so happy that I did, except now I miss it.

There is so much more to it than I ever thought. I'm not saying it's deep, but it was more adult, at times, than I thought it would be. It was more political, more inclusive (especially for the time), and WAY more fun and entertaining than I ever imagined.

I think anyone who enjoys campy fun, action, horror, comedy, romance--this series has it all.

I LOVED IT and I'm so glad I finally gave it a chance!

Comic Book History
16 March 2007
The people responsible for the making of this film have truly captured the graphic novel as motion picture.

The whole look and feel is like a moving poster by Frank Frazetta and that genre of art.

It was beautiful and spectacular.

For people looking for an accurate historical account, this probably isn't it, but for entertainment value, it certainly hits the mark.

For those looking for hidden meanings--it was a graphic novel, based on actual historical events. I don't believe it is some dastardly plot by anyone to portray any modern people, real or imagined.

Very satisfying Futuristic Action Film
20 September 2006
I agree, wholly, with Jason from L.A.(comment posting 217). In movies you have to, sometimes, suspend disbelief to some degree and although this movie DOES have its flaws (as Jason enumerated), it is one of my favorites. So few people have seen, or even heard of it, which is unfortunate, because if you're a sci-fi or an action film aficionado, this movie is for you. I, highly, recommend it whenever and to whomever I can. It has great action ala Matrix, an excellent cast, a good story (if derivative), and is a totally satisfying experience. Please see it and tell your friends about it. I think it deserves to be seen. There are too many movies produced today that are a complete waste of film, so that when one comes along that is, surprisingly, good, it deserves to be praised and recommended.
