Two things urged me to watch the movie: 1) the topic of survival on the mountain and 2) that it is based on a true story. Even though I love in general the combination of these two aforementioned points, this movie doesn't do justice to any of them.
Even though it's based on a true story, at no point the movie feels realistic. The two very poorly developed main protagonists fall around countless times and miraculously they survive each and every fall almost completely intact. I'm a mountaineer myself and if even a quarter of their accidents were to actually happen, they'll be long dead. Most probably the real people had to overcome a lot of things to survive but the movie stretched them to uttermost unrealistic levels.
