Landmine Goes Click (2015)
The idea is there but the concept is just as bad as the person who came up with this crap...
Feel like it fixates weirdly on the fact women are so easily vulnerable one particular scene was painfully long and it felt purposeful like the creator probably took the same pleasure as the psychotic behaviour in this movie... landmine never goes click a trick wow underwhelming just for a R* scene plot point feels empty the whole time is a female trauma fest with one male trying to avenge a girl he was never really with until it goes balls up left with nothing in the end, pain not gone justice barely served... the last house on the left has a similar premise less rubbish more to the point has uncomfortable moments but tells a story this gave nothing most scenes ridiculously long in doing and giving 0. I would not recommend this whatsoever who made this crap?
Pearl (2022)
Not as good as X but it had its moments.
I loved the start of this movie, the build up of pearls desire to become a star unbelieved by her most important audience, her family but I can't say much happened overall I didn't gind it climatic at any point and i felt terrible for those killed especially the innocent picture boy. The end felt abrupt when paired with x. I want to know how why ect Howard helps and is OK with pearls murderous ways. You could say its because he loved her but pearl feels abandoned by everyone around her she could even kill him in resentment for leaving but with x didn't clearly. Again with x I neither hated it or loved it but overall I do like the concept and settings of the movie. Excited for the next installment MaxXxine.
X (2022)
Indecisive
I have no idea how I feel about this film, I felt sympathy, i laughed, i was shocked, turned on, turned off, disgusted, confused and overall I don't know what I took away from the film. I liked the actors but the story felt empty. If anything it made me scared to get old (the only scary part) and live full of regrets which maybe is the point but i wouldnt say it was a horror film it had gore but it wasnt scary. It didnt have any suspense but somehow i was shocked every now and then when someone got killed. Didnt hate it didnt love it but i am intrigued for the other films, it could have been better though.
Luckiest Girl Alive (2022)
The message gets lots in the drama...
This film feels so disorganised I couldn't follow it right to the end without feeling like I needed to write a review. 25 minutes left on a story that didn't need to be this long with still no understanding of what this film is supposed to be about. I feel like whatever the message this film is supposed to put across it has gotten lost in Ani's dramatisation of her whole life. It weirdly feels similar to Joe in You except somehow she's more erratic because whilst it feels like she's doing so much the majority of the film she's done nothing. Certain scenes feel added for shock value to be honest, insensitive to those who have experienced these awful traumas in their lives. The Luckiest Girl Alive feels empty in a way that, a movie like Promising Young Woman could put across perfectly without adding unnecessary scenes. I honestly don't know the plot point or the end goal for Ani, if it's simply story telling it's told dreadfully even with flashbacks. I don't recommend.
Promising Young Woman (2020)
Whole movie and soundtrack is 👌🏼
I didn't know how I felt about this film after watching it I was a little unsatisfied and frustrated but it's overall a really good film like it's not what I expected and the soundtrack is unreal the more time has gone on I'm obsessed with it and I don't know why I just think it's the best new movie I've seen in a long time! Definitely recommend the watch.
The Girls Next Door (2005)
Can't beat classic 2000 Tv!
Love and miss this, do anything to go back to the days of this, MTV cribs, room raiders & more! 2020 sucks so ima hide in this boxset
Footballers' Wives (2002)
The nostalgia I need in 2020.
I was quite young when this was out and I wasn't allowed to watch it however I was obsessed with Bad Girls growing up (even though I shouldn't of been watching that at my age then either lol!) 24 now I decided to give Footballers Wives a go seeing as it's made by the same people as Bad Girls and Tanya even crossed over into the Bad Girls world.
First time watching it I wasn't overly keen but the second time around I was hooked. However the first season was strong but from then on out Tanya Turner is the one who continued to hold the whole show together with her fabulousness and mad ways, without her I don't think many people would remember or would want to remember this show all that much. It's a true 2000s classic that'll would never be approved into the world of today so appreciate the nostalgia that it'll forever hold.
Aladdin (2019)
Didn't ever like Aladdin but Love love love!
I didn't bother with going to see this when it released in cinema as Aladdin has always been in my least favourite Disney films however since the release of Disney+ I decided I wanted to try something new and having watch Cinderella and Beauty & The Beast one more poor live action Disney movie couldn't do much harm.
Well... to my surprise I really enjoyed it, it wasn't to musically for me (which when Disney added annoying song extra backstory to B&TB I found it rather draggie as the whole concept didn't fit for me along with starring Emma Watson as Belle nah) Will Smith did an exceptional job! As Robin Williams was so iconic it was almost scary if it went bad but as ever Will Smith is just as Iconic. Jasmin and Aladdin actors are so pure and fit perfectly it's definitely moved into the number 1 spot as Maleficent was always my favourite (and I wasn't keen on Elle Fanning either)
At this point I don't even think the little mermaid live action will top this for me and I very much look forward to the sequel as it's announced to be made just unfortunate it won't be the return of Jafar because a new twist on that would work very well. Overall I was shocked at how much I liked this and only hope that Will Smith with very much be in the next one also he was great!
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
It's a cute watch!
Didn't know what to anticipate when watching this film but had read one bad review about it not having much of a plot which I agree. The plot line is weak and somewhat boring the only thing that holds the movie together is the fight scenes other than that it seems messy. The film feels like they wrote a soundtrack then produced the film it's almost like a musical and even though the album is great as I had listened to it before the movie release it was just TOO present in the film throughout. I feel like they should of included the joker even if it was for 30 seconds at some point in the film; his absence as a "they broke up" excuse just wasn't enough to make the movie seem like that was now the cause of everything that unfolded that suddenly everyone wants revenge because Harley isn't protected anymore. Harley is bad as anything and I feel she doesn't need the Joker as she should have her own reputation by now. Birds of Prey film title makes no sense either until they decided last minute to make it relevant. I almost feel like we need a second film but scrap whatever happened in this film and maybe go thoroughly in depth in a unique way like the independent joker film how Harley became who she is present day and why there is no chance she can go back to life before. They show a cartoon brief breakdown at the beginning but it has so much more potential.
I mean any other film made now featuring Margot as Harley would probably still be better than this. I only like it because the costumes are fun, Harley looks expensive than she did in suicide squad plus it's her feature film so we see her 100% the soundtrack slaps and as a woman I feel like it would be cute to watch every once in awhile with snacks. And these are everything that's wrong with the film, I shouldn't like it for those basic reasons.
Us (2019)
Why would anyone give this A star???
Most painful 2 hours of my life, people where laughing at the serious parts ffs never in my life have I walked out of the cinema feeling like I need Botox because I spent the entire film with my face scrunched and irritated. There was more talent in people sleeping through the surround sound than there was in this film, it wasn't what I imagined or expected it was so bad. Don't waste money or sleep if you plan on a late showing! Awful awful awful!
Moana (2016)
Boring...
The best recent disney princess film is still tangled the music is right the story is right it's all right. Moana is like a lost ancestor of Lilo with no real purpose apart from her land is dying so she finds the piece of a puzzle and all is forgiven? Lame.
The Favourite (2018)
I don't get it?
I went in to it with somewhat of the idea it'll bare similarity to The Duchess got 30 minutes in and I just don't understand what the storyline is or what was happening.
Cam (2018)
I don't regret watching but annoying...
So from first bat it has a great actress playing lead role and the whole story has potential however throughout i was craving the reason behind who and what cloned her and why. The ending gives you nothing regarding that just that she clones herself a new identity so she can take control in the future if the same ever occurs again. NGL disregarding the fact this story went mental I'm considering signing up to the site myself! Shout out for advertising a business venture. I wouldn't watch again because if it's irritating cliff off no return ending but maybe worth the watch just that once.
Overlord (2018)
Call of Duty Nazi Resident Evil Zombies... 🤔
I originally found interest in this through my obsession with Call Of Duty Zombies saga but don't be fooled the film wasn't that.
The film dives straight into its tension point (I'm used to plots dragging on for the first 30 minutes which was refreshing that it didn't). The film gives off the appearance and theme of nazi zombies however the idea of an undead army did not make its debut in this movie.
Experiments to make an undead army are still undergoing in this film in which they tested amongst the living and the dead leaving the vials/shot responses inconsistent. Dead - they didn't rise, living - they died. Toward the end there is a scene in which the doctor insists it's not perfected to be used amongst the living to a lead German soilder it then yet creates immortal resident evil style human/monster - William birkin RE2 Then in another scene they inject a solider after his death to save him as he is killed by Birkin before he got his hands on the vial) and he has a similar reaction but mutates like Mr X / The Tyrant and cannot control himself whereas Birkin could????
Amongst it all no other "zombies" really appeared however something did appear briefly and he looked like burnt mutant that couldn't talk just screeched and ran after anything it desired which was the only thing close to zombies that related in the film. I'm not sure if it was intentional they didn't commit to a zombie outcome if anything it gives off a resident evil and nazi zombies vibe slightly disappointing but it wasn't a bad film I did enjoy it I just think zombies would of been better than a main boss and battle (that's what the rereleases or Resident Evil games are for.)
I do think this film will have a sequel I just hope it's not a rubbish one. I still expect to want to buy this 4K DVD.
