Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Very disappointing to see the direction they went with
For some reason they decided to shift Black Panther to SOLELY a female ONLY movie? It's just weird because it's all you can think about thru the whole movie, where are all the dudes & warriors etc from the OG movie (Boseman aside)? Idk I just feel like they went in a direction no one was asking for and very little people were entertained by. There's legit 1 dude casted in the entire movie lol makes zero biological sense. Also, they get into this great big battle that the whole movie leads up to, all their people vs all the bad guys, and then after we win the 1v1 our leader vs theirs, we just help him up and then fly back to the battle together like long lost best friends??? WHILE all of our warriors are still battling theirs? They'd all look at the two leaders coming back on some floating saucer and be like wtf did we just fight to the death for just to go have brunch afterwards and talk about the weather forecast. In the OG Black Panther, if you challenged the entirety of Wakanda and all its people, you met your fate of death or incarceration; this time we just gave them a hug & kiss and said don't do it again? Lmao could have been soooooo much better, sucks they failed to keep the audiences opinion in mind when making the movie.
Slow Horses: From Upshott with Love (2022)
CHEWING/EATING of Jackson (head of slough house)
I'm telling you right now this episode and season would already be a 10/10 in my book if it weren't for the EXTREME emphasis on the chewing and eating of Jackson. Seriously, it has made me so over the top irritated I'm borderline going to chalk the entire season because it's so aggravating and SO incredibly unnecessary. The guy is eating like a hippo and the director(s) decided to encourage that and hook a mic up there to make sure we got great sound quality of him ignorantly chomping and eating. I can't write a review on Apple TV+ so I brought my thoughts here as I know I can't be the only one this has sincerely aggravated. If it happens again in the next few episodes I promise I'll stop watching the show.
The Terminal List (2022)
Just as good as the book!!
The book is a 10 and the show is a 9.9, so awesome. James REECE to the mf moon!! Read the book when it came out a couple years back and Jack Carr is an absolute legend and a true American idol. Proud to follow this story & author so closely and profusely, simply worth every second diving further and further into the Reece abyss. Legendary.
The Postcard Killings (2020)
Clearly the directors and story writers did not read the book this movie was supposed to be based upon.
A HUGE letdown. Almost laughably. I'd just finished James Patterson's "The Postcard Killers" a couple days ago before I found this movie and decided to give it a try.
All the names are the same, such as Jacob Kanon the 'main character' and Sylvia and Mac Rudolph 'the psychopathic art studying postcard killers', but that's about where the similarities end. I wish it were mandatory that in order for you to make a movie of a book, ALL of those involved in the casting, producing, and directing must ACTUALLY read the book. Because if you follow the script in the book, it'd be impossible to screw this movie up, because of how phenomenal the book is. With that said, all of those charged with making this movie completely SCREWED the whole thing up. Dropped the ball in every way possible. Had anyone cared to ACTUALLY READ THE BOOK, and not just taken a worthless and empty summary of it to base the movie off of, I wouldn't be writing this. So so so sad. Wish I could fire the producers but I can't so I'm leaving this note instead.
