Halo: Inheritance (2022)
Season 1, Episode 7

A show killer
15 May 2022
Note: There are no spoilers. Its not possible to spoil anything in the episode.

Basically, what most reviewers wrote is true. It is just a bad episode that has nothing to do with Halo. I binge watched the series, and was enjoying it....until this episode. It completely destroyed the flow of the series. I wish this whole Madrigal storyline was eliminated.

The way I look at it, is there is literally no way to tie her storyline in that would interest me at this point. Kwon will, unfortunately, be a hurdle for me every time I watch. The more Master Chief the better.

Concept was ok
29 October 2021
This paranormal was ok, but it wasn't as good as the others. It did seem to have a little bit more of a story, but severely lacked in scares. One the thing PA excelled at was creating scares from an unforseen source, which was typically built up throughout the movie. Here it just didn't happen minus a couple jump scares. Its an ok bored night watch, but I dont recommend it.

Probably the most boring show I've seen in years
15 October 2021
The title says it all. I have no idea how this show is even a 7.5 on imdb, but im not surprised. This seems like a show that people who like movies/shows for cinematography, filters, score etc... would dig, but the typical viewer would not. I forced myself to make it through, but hate myself for it. Honestly, it seems like pretentious crap thats supposed to be full of metaphors for how people are now.

Not what I expected
15 July 2021
Honestly, this movie was only a way to highlight children being stronger than people think. The first movie had a lot of holes, but was a more fun movie to watch. This was more, children are adaptable and can do anything, and that really annoys me. Lets be honest...in a world like this you are most likely toast if you have kids. The boy was at least a little more realistic than the girl.

Take it from the cat
18 June 2021
Ive solved the problem of the missing cat. It realized this movie was so bad it just ran away. Take a page from it and stay away from this one. I knew exactly what was happening from 20 minutes in, and stupidly pushed on.....thats on me.

Just not scary
13 June 2021
I think that the biggest issue with this movie is the subject matter. La Llorona is an old story, but its just not scary. Ghost and demon stuff is inherintly scary in general, but there are much better legends to base a movie on. The film creators would have been better off just coming up with a whole new story rather than using the old unscary myth.

Dear Discovery Writers....

Stop it! Just stop it. This is not Star Trek. Its more like the all female Ghost Busters. Made only to empower rather than focusing on making a good show.

Worth a watch if you haven't seen it
17 June 2020
This movie is definitely worth a watch. Just keep in mind that this movie is the reason that I don't want kids. I am too afraid to have a daughter like the girl in this. As far as movies go she is the bane of my existence....why you ask? Just watch the film, and you will immediately go sterile after a few of her lines!

The movie is certainly good otherwise. The aliens in this are scary enough (scary second to the horrifying girl). The ending is a lazy though. I wish it took more to win against them where they were so unstoppable throughout.

Ive never read the comics, not a DC fan really, and have never heard of Harley Quinn until Suicide Squad
25 March 2020
The DC movies have mostly all been "meh" or lower in my eyes. Just not my favorite really. I have never read a comic book, but I do enjoy a lot of the super hero movies. So thinking that Suicide Squad was ok i figured i'd enjoy this enough to watch. Wow was I wrong........I played this movie for about 25 minutes, and shut it off. There was just SOOOO much bad in this short period alone that it wasn't tolerable. Margot Robie is pretty so there are points there, but theres not much worse than the stereotype NY accent. The story is a joke too....they don't take anything seriously. They couldn't even take the time to make jokes funny in this if they weren't going to write a real story. The woman cop and that singer just did me in. Such bad acting that I finally hung it up.

The big takeaway. The #1 thing in my head was feminism. You can tell that this was written by someone trying to force women empowerment down our throats. The women in this movie were all tough, witty, indestructable, perfect and in your face. The men were slow, lazy, stupid and are tripping all over themselves. I came into this not reading any reviews, checking scores, or having any expectations really. So a cringeworthy feminist approach being picked up this fast by me (again, 25 min in) is pretty horrible. Stay very far away!

What was that!?
8 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I decided to give this movie a shot mainly because it has Jeff Goldblum. He always has his glorious moments in movies lol. That and Ty Sheridan is pretty good......but WTF!?!?! This movie is about absolutely NOTHING. The storyline is so confusing, isn't about anything, and completely frustrating. It really irked me that the people never friggin talked in the movie. So....I will chalk this up as one of those movies that gain credit because they are "artsy." That is a load of crap though. People will say that its beautiful, artsy, great cinematography, is metaphorical etc, but its not. Sorry but NO its not. Its just a poor film that is boring. The excitement it carried was people staring into space so maybe it was a metaphor for watching paint dry. Also what the hell was the hermaphrodite sh**, and the old French dude ranting about for 30 min at the end?

Stay clear of this crap, and thank me later. This movie is about as interesting as a wet fart

So ridiculous
30 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Apparently having a cell phone that talks to you makes you invincible along with god like strength. This is the only explanation and excuse gor the girl being able to overpower every person she meets.

The movie would have been ok if it didn't have so many ridiculous moments. I can generally accept some plot holes, and take a movie for what it is (aka just enjoy it). This was just too much. The fact that she can overpower everyone at 100 lbs wet, gets away with everything easily, and all that other stuff just took the wind out of my sails. Then the end where she just gets away with it as a victim is just icing on the cake. I get that the writers were trying to be crafty and make it seem like she set the boyfriend up, but comon! They would habe figured out 1000x times over with evidence she did it. Not to mention the fact that all the murders had evidence on here....but apparently the cops just shrugged, and called it over

Feral (2017)
2/10
Could have been so much better.
24 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The concept for this movie certainly had potential as far as horrors go. The premise was interesting, but they swung and missed with the story itself. What took this movie from maybe a 6/10 down to 2 is because of the women empowerment stuff. The feral virus was completely overshadowed with their attempt to stuff the strong woman stuff down our throats. I have zero problem with female actors, and will never hold men/women on any different level than even. So im not someone that has any equality issues. In the movie their push of women empowerment created a forced story, which caused the storyline to stray further and further from being coherent. I had to shut the movie off at the part where they decide to chain the girl in the basement. The main character started to boss around everyone (self entitlement), and had the gall to tell the man "do this....its not debatable." In this instance the guy could have EASILY overpowered, stolen the gun, refused to help etc.....but again the strong female lead stuff didn't allow for it.

To each his or her own, but I would stray away. It will only frustrate you.

T-34 (2018)

A great surprise!
27 September 2019
As stated above this movie was a great surprise. I am a big fan of tanks, and have been praying for some good tank movies to come out. There are very few which is odd considering tank warfare is a pretty popular subject. T-34 was a super cool movie, which features plenty of tank action, a good story, and some great slow mo shots. Before this movie I really only can think of a few good tank movies like White Tiger and Fury. Yes, the story has its corny points, but I love the slow mo shell hits. It was a little over the top taking down 12 tanks to 1, and showed the traditional Russian patriotism. Not that this is bad, but over exagerating the comments, and the other worldly heroism to not show weakness is what i'm talking about. This may be the first tank movie I have seen that concentrates on true tank weak spots, and also features propper angling. Going against the bohemouth Tiger 1, King Tigers, Panthers etc. the t34 didn't stand a chance head on. What tankers relied on is good armor, a solid gun and superior maneuverability. The gun would never pen a panther head on so you would hit the belly, cupola, drivers hatch, sides and so on....which the movie did get right!

Gallipoli (2015)
9/10
Great Surprise!
23 September 2019
I, honestly, have never heard of this show. I even spent 6 months in Australia, and this never came up in passing. The only reason this show was given a watch by me is because of boredom, which always tends to lead me to war shows. Anyways, this show is so darn good! I definitely would say this belongs in the same breath as Band of Brothers. IMO, nothing will ever top Band of Brothers for me, but Gallipoli was certainly very well made like it. What raises this show up on top of it just being good is the fact that Gallipoli is not well known. Anything to do with the battles here, all the Churchill stuff being hugely unknown where he failed badly at this time (everyone knows him when he took over as PM in WW2, but don't realize the failure beforehand), and the story of the ANZACS. ANZAC day is obviously very big in Australia and NZ, even having a day for it, but as Americans we know NOTHING about it. I learned while I was studying there, and I love history!

So in a nutshell this show should certainly be given a watch when you have the time to pay attention. The second episode especially was such a great window into what war is like. It's hard to imagine these days where it's a different world, but the World Wars were largely made up of just regular people. The wars before now were a lot less personal due to technology, and fighting tactics....but reality sank in hard when they learned their hated foes were just men fighting with wives, childeren and families (A "we aren't so different you and I" type thing).

Wait for dvd
16 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
To start off I would like to say that I THINK I read these books, but don't recall. I remember the cover art, but seem to remember it coming with a casette tape as well? Anyways, a few of the stories I do know like the dough-ty walker deal. I cannot comment on the accuracy when comparing the books vs movies.

Now on to the movie review....I can honestly say that the scariest part of this movie was the new commercial preview for "IT" haha.

I was excited to see this movie where I am a very big fan of syfy and horror. To the point that i'll even watch, and like 3 star movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime. This movie was sooooo bad imo! Not once did I jump or feel anything that remotely resembles being scared. I think there was maybe 3 jump scares if I remember correctly, and they were still not good. I will say that the 3 star review comes from some pretty funny jokes in it. It almost seems like the movie tried to base itself entirely on the wierd art the book is known for. So every scenario seemed fast, and incomplete. What I mean is that all the monster parts in this happened in like a minute, and then it was over. Any attempt to be scary was negated due to the abrupt ending to the scenario, and they moved on. It seems like the spiders for example could have been scary if they added some more time setting it up, and also adding some more peril for the person involved.

To be honest I was uncontrollably laughing during a large portion of the movie. Im not even joking...I was fighting the urge to let my laugh happen out loud, and had to step out of the theater to collect myself. One example is the big toe deal. The scenario itself is insane, but the reactions from the actors made it that much funnier. Its like in any horror where they do the wrong thing, and makes you shake your head. The ending had the same effect in how ridiculous it all was. I didn't have huge expectations per se, but it was so poorly done. Go see the movie if your bored, but I would wait for DVD. There was so much potential that just fell short with acting and storylines.

Wow
28 July 2019
This movie fully deserves the full 10 stars! The reason I gave it this perfect score is because of what it has accomplished.....its literally the first movie EVER that I shut off for being SO BAD! haha. Its actually kind of funny to think about. It seems bad enough that you actually have to try to intentionally. Doubt this is the case, but still.

I see that this film received 4 awards. I truely hope they are awards won for being one of the worst movies. Sometimes last place can be just as big an accomplishment as taking first

Thank You Samuel!
12 June 2019
Like other reviewers here, I think that Samuel Jackson saved this film. If he wasn't in it then it would be the worst Marvel Comics movie I have seen. Samuel just makes everything better though haha (Snakes on a Plane even!). I can't pinpoint why the story was bad, but there are probably multiple reasons. A few big ones could be...story was bad because it came too late in the MCU line. This is definitely possible. There is a lot of information to force into a 2 hour movie. Especially considering how powerful she is supposed to be, and how major a role she plays in Avengers. Just seemed rushed, and the huge amount of stuff they wanted portrayed made them lose their vision.

However, one major thing that made me angry was the female lead stuff. There was nothing more cringeworthy than the later scene when she was shown getting up after falling. Holy god, was their a major lapse in subtelty in this movie. The most lasting stuff I remember from the movie is all about the female lead parts. To the point where I forgot what actually happened in the movie itself! Look.....I have ZERO issue with female equality. I couldn't give a rats ass if its a female or male lead. I have never thought, in Avengers, anything different about say Black Widow vs Captain America. It was the last thing on my mind with gender stuff. They are either a good actor or actress....and they are either right for the part or wrong. That simple. Captain Marvel though just rode the wave with female lead stuff. In a way they certainly paid for it on this one. It felt like watching a movie by a communist country that controls what is in the film, and force their political agenda. This reminds me of the time when Disney had their first ethnic female princess. Made a massive deal of it. If you are watching a film, and ask yourself why are their not more males or female in the lead then you probably dont enjoy too many movies.

Seriously, who funded this movie!?
9 May 2019
To the only other reviewer...how can you not love this film?! Your telling me that their joke about how you should learn to french kiss at 13 wasn't hilarious? Haha....First review was absolutely correct. This movie wasn't even worth a so bad its funny laugh. You can tell they are trying to be funny, but I can honestly say Ive never seen something this NOT funny. Its kind of hard to explain, but it's about as funny as a CNN broadcast about foreign trade policy. Whoever wrote, fimed and funded this movie needs to get taken out back to go by the way of Old Yeller.

I am not going to lie....I put this on with the expectation of it being so bad its funny. Also it seemed worth a watch because....lesbians. My life is complete because my dreams have been filled and then some! No nudity to speak of, it was horrendously unfunny, and had zero redeeming qualities.

To sum up...the best way to picture this movie is soft core porn on late night Cinemax. Acting wise and story that is. It is much much more unfunny, a little worse as far as camera work, surprisingly the same music, no nudity, and about the same quality looks with actresses (albeit worse actresses than their Cinemax counterparts). So I probably owe Cinemax an apology. I always make fun of the story, acting and quality of a low budget soft core, but clearly they are far from the worst. Stay far away, and hope that the writer and director get their computer/camera taken away in shame!

Really odd but Ok
9 May 2019
This movie is so different than any comedy Ive seen. It definitely had a few laughable moments, but almost seems like it tried too hard the entire time. This is probably best watched slightly bored and drunk haha. One part that made it worth the watch was the whole highschool teen part with Liev Schriber. The writing on the refridgerator was funny and unexpected along with the parents giving the kid a "real" highschool experience.

So, in the end, watch at your own risk, but prepare for ridiculousness.

Demon House (2019)

Woof
13 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I wonder what people found in this movie to justify the 5.6 stars. I kind of expected this to be a found footage movie, but it ended up being a "documentary." The nail in the coffin with this movie was the fact that it was done by the Ghost Adventures dude. He is just absured.

Beyond the fact that it was directed and starring Bagans the content was just silly. It's exactly like the ghost shows with no proof, crazy story, crazy witnesses and garbled voices recorded. It's always a good laugh when they play back the "demon voices" due to what they hear. Its always something like leave now, get out, you will die, or you forgot to put the toilet seat down again. Demons be crazy! Lol. Seriously, all the accounts are by people I dont believe, and would do anything for a quick buck. That and EVERYTHING that happened can't be proven. NO WAY could Bagans fake getting mad on camera lol. If sticking a q tip in a door to stop someone from oiling the blinds is your biggest argument then try again!

If you are super bored then have at it. Just trying to save a little wasted time is all. It could spook you I suppose. Just watch out for those portals to hell that contain underwear and fake press on nails!

Just so good
8 April 2019
I don't do a whole lot of reviews, but this is a series that deserves all the praise it can get. When I am asked what my favorite movie is I always cheat, amd say Band of Brothers hands down lol.

As far as the show itself I believe it to be as perfect as we will ever get. There is never going to be a movie that is a 100% due to varying opinions about everything. We all have certain tastes so to each his/her own. I do feel that this is a series that everybody should watch. This includes people that could care less about war films or shows. It is a pretty difficult show to dislike due to it covering so much. Why should everyone see this?......the main reason is because it is historically important. I know there is some material debated that may not be accurate, but in whole it is important to know history. The show is as good as it gets when it comes to building an understanding of what exactly went on during WW2. This includes what our family members experienced, other countries experienced, hardships the soldiers and citizens went through etc. What really was nice is the show didn't make it a war movie that tries to make the USA look like the only hero, and it didn't just make the opposition look bad. There was a very good understanding that MOST people didn't approve of war, but did it for many unselfish reasons. There was a clear hatred between sides, but that morely showed people being tired of fighting, and lashing out due to the loss of dear friends/brothers at the hands of the opposition. This went both ways! The soldiers created a bond that could never be broken. Having the actual soldiers interviewed you can see the loss in their faces. What they went through dealing with training, losing friends and brothers, dealing with ungodly cold weather while being severely under supplied, being away from home and so much more can be seen in the eyes of these gentleman of the 101st. They have to carry all this until they die, and it is a massive burden. What is especially devistating is when the death camp was stumbled apon. Never knowing about the camps, and just coming up to a voew like that creates a whole different level of hell. What human beings can do to eachother is just abysmal.

Sorry for the long review. Again, I am just a major fan. The acting, story, atmosphere, content and everything else was perfect, imo. I literally cant think of a single 5 minute stetch where I was bored, or disliked something. The problem with Band of Brothers is the fact that I can't see it ever getting outdone. Similar to Saving Private Ryan where it is regularly considered the standard for war films. SPR is a top 5 in my book, but Band of Bros is on a whole new level when comparing the two. When you have time I highly recommend the watch! Even if its with someone that could care less about war stuff you can just woo them by saying that Ross from Friends is an A Hole in it lol.

Breaking In (2018)

Wow! Just wow
24 March 2019
Don't be fooled by my headline. Its not a happy wow lol. I couldn't have been more bored during a movie! I am the type that will watch almost any crappy movie just to get a laugh. I gave this one star not only because I had to, but it deserved it. Reason being, is the plot holes, and acting was so bad that it made me laugh a few times. Plot "holes" does not do this justice...its makes the grand canyon look like a pot hole on my street. So......I guess the movie gets credit for making me think. There were parts so bad that I had to think of how to justify a characters actions. I can tolerate a horror movie where a person stupidly runs upstairs from a killer or makes a dumb decision. In this movie I couldn't even do that for myself. Generally, I would say to each his/her own, but I can't process how this movie got even a fairly decent rating. Breaking In makes the movie Jennifer's Body look like a Smithsonian worthy work of art haha.

Part II is better than part I. Now im interested where they go from here.
24 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I was skeptical at first regarding this show, but part II saved it. Not to say the first season wasn't creative or interesting, but definitely lacked a lot of excitement. I think what made part I a good watch was its ability to make you question things. You didn't know if Prarie was dreaming, made stuff up, truely did travel etc. The ending with the Amazon box under the bed created these thoughts along with dying at the end. Part 2 was better, imo. It took away some guesswork, but also revealed 5x more throughout the season. There is more "Action" if you will. I like that the directors changed the formula for the show entirely, but only because it made it not feel repetitive. There is also a great deal more depth with the other characters, which I felt was lacking in part I. This is certainly worth a watch, but make sure you remember the bulk of the first season. There is a lot of detail to remember, which can easily be forgotten with such a long gap between parts. Like I said, I did enjoy season 1, but was on the fence whether I cared if the show continued. Season 2 was interesting enough to make me want a 3rd with certainty.
