Amazing, but I already knew how it was going to end
5 June 2021
It's an emotional roller coaster that's for sure. Honestly, I learned a heck of a lot from this movie, and I actually enjoyed the hell out of it too-expect for Maybe the final few moments where I was left in an absolute mess of uncontrollable tears. I mean the film was completely enjoyable up until that point. Then in the last few seconds it leaves you with an overwhelming sense of fear, anger, sadness, and frustration-you go all the way from denial to acceptance in mere seconds, and it feels really heartbreaking. Despite it not having a nicely tied-up-everyone lives happily ever-after-type ending, it was a really intriguing & well made movie. It kept me glued to my seat, and the acting was outstanding by literally everyone. Seriously that cast was excellent from start to finish. I loved them all. I had to give it a ten. I do not care to read what other ppl thought about it, as I was clearly moved to tears. I don't want other people's poor reviews to ruin it for me.

Surprised by the low ratings here
30 May 2021
I thought everyone who was originally saying "they already made the nerve movie" was going to come on here & eat their words, and be like "oh, i was so wrong-there's so much more to this show than that stupid movie. Yet, here we are and it's still at a ridiculously low rating. I'm 39 years old I'm clearly not the key demographics for the show, and even though I love Emma Roberts, I hated that nerve movie. Anyway I just wanted you guys to know that it's actually really entertaining, The characters are likable and their back stories are believable and the mysteries are flushed out and keep you guessing. It's like scream but without the stabbing. I'm almost finished with it and I thought it definitely defined my expectations. Watch it for yourself, and try not to listen to all the hate.

I love you John Lithgow.
16 May 2021
John Lithgow is the man. The show has the best actors! I'm thoroughly impressed every episode, by everyone, but this weeks episode goes to John that's for damn sure. I love him in everything, and I like him in real life too. He does a show on YouTube that's called "Humpty Dumpty" and it's really funny. Anyway, loved it.

Well, it's very well done, but it's so hard to watch
15 May 2021
I'm not saying it's not great, but it's hard to sit through 10 hours of '12 years a slave' level torture & cruelty. I get it happened, but it's impossible to enjoy watching that kind of stuff over & over again in a show, even for a hardcore horror fan like myself. I'm just now in the middle of episode 3 (by fast forwarding most of the torture stuff in episode one because-come on now). I'm hoping it gets less depressing & more about Cora's discovery of herself & her physical journey to actual freedom (not just more & different types of torture by white men). I'm sure it's a great series, that I don't doubt, all I'm just saying is it's hard to stomach. The feelings of guilt you get watching it just knowing you're a white person is difficult, even if I'm not a man, is difficult. I get the need for showing it this way, but time & time again, one person can only handle so much before saying "is it really necessary that I watch this, or am I just torturing myself for no reason?" When viewing is no longer enjoyable what is the point of putting yourself mentally (thankfully, not physically) through it all. Sometimes you just don't feel like subjecting ones self to10 hours of depressing ass tragedy at every turn. Hopefully it gets more interesting....

Well, we liked it.
15 May 2021
We all read the book, so we already knew, and all 3 of us enjoyed it. I think the negative reviews are a little rough. The movie is more like a 7, but I had to up the rating to a 9 to try & help even out all the 1 & 2 star ratings.

I really like it & I don't like comic book stuff
10 May 2021
I think ' Jupiter's legacy' is a interesting, entertaining & addicting show (despite the super-hero action stuff - which just isn't my thing-don't hate me. That being said, JL's is a pretty great show in its own right & works on its own merits. This show sets its self apart from other super hero shows In terms of plot, story, actors, characters, and production values. The backstories are well thought out, and the plot is engaging. Speaking of plot, JL's isn't always so easy to follow in terms of time-jumps and it can be difficult to understand who & how everyone is connected, and who is with/against each other at times; yet, you can still follow along even if you get a little lost at runes. The story is a lot more complex then you would originally except it to be. I especially loved the scenes set in the 1930's starting with the stock market crash and the Great Depression era that followed. Plus, The dust bowl scenes over the Southern Plains were great too. The dust bowl scenes remind me of one the greatest HBO shows ever made-the epic & under appreciated 'Carnivale.' Man, I wish they would bring that one back. Long story short, even if comic book stuff really isn't your thing I would still recommend giving 'Jupiter's legacy' a watch. I hate the name Jupiter's Legacy' btw. I forgot to mention that JL's has got some pretty choice character actors too. The casting was a fun surprise. In any case, it's nearly impossible not to be entertained by this show regardless if it's your new favorite show, or just a show to watch on Netflix to pass the time..

Meh
22 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I love the actors, but the story was not interesting. It didn't keep my attention. Like literally nothing exciting happened. No aliens. No conflict or people with nefarious motives. It's just they were low on oxygen & they had to do some dumb space stuff to get it back in order to survive. People acting like heroes was about it. One person willing to sacrifice themselves for the good of the group. Like mmmmmk, that's nice, but that's it. One person is a hero. That's the whole story. If this wasn't set in space there would be zero point for this movie. Well actually, there was zero point to this story in space too. It's just not good. Sorry not sorry.

Happily (2021)

Meh
3 April 2021
It's nothing special. It's not funny, or scary. It's not anything really. It's about a good looking young couple & their rich friends. The couple played by Joel McHale's abs & Kerry Bushe from Halt & Catch Fire. The couple, we've been told, has been married for 15 years yet they're still overly affectionate & in love with one another. So much so that they still make passionate love every single day.. They just can't keep their hands off each other (much to the dismay of their small group of "friends"). The friend group ends up confessing that it's not normal to be like that after 15 years of marriage & that quite frankly their PDA is annoying AF & that they have decided, as a group, that they no longer wish to be friends with them. The couple accepts this & goes home to ponder if it really is that unusual to be so sexually active after 15 years. That part was especially stupid. Then one of the friends calls them, reneges her rejection, and invites them to a couples weekend at an Airbnb with the rest of the group. You know the group that just wrote them off. They agree to go & during the weekend they all find out that each and every one of them is actually a terrible person, and uninteresting secrets are reveled, then they leave. The end.

I thought the Jim Cummings guy was freaking hilarious. At minute 22 he gets so funny. I really liked it. Just watch it for yourself and decide it's a lot better than any BS horror/comedy out right now.

Roadies: Friends and Family (2016)
Season 1, Episode 5

I had to comment after the above review
28 March 2021
So, the only other person who commented on this episode mentioned how amazing this janeen lady was. Um, no. She was the most basic of the basic b***h I've ever seen. Yes, she is attractive, but In a very basic way. Nothing special about her at all. She wasn't even a good actress. No offense to her personally, but I just had to comment since the above reviewer gave her so much praise. I looked it up, and I am definitely not the only person who feels this way & was pretty shocked that she was cast as some amazing muse that every dude just immediately falls in love with. Give me a break ! If she walked into a restaurant or show or whatever no one would give this chick a 2nd look, but yet somehow she's cast in this role? She must have friends in high places because she was just so wrong for that part. I have a feeling whoever wrote the above review was a friend/family or something. Anyway great episode.

Bummed it's only one season
27 March 2021
Is 'Roadies' as good as 'Almost Famous'? No! Is it an excellent show with real-life artists playing cameos & music along side some beloved actors & actresses? YES! Does it have an amazing sound track? YES! I'm assuming the reason why 'Roadies' had only had one season was b/c everyone was expecting a 10 hour show that was on the same caliber of 'Almost Famous,' but If you go into this without the high 'Almost Famous' expectations then you should enjoy it. I found it on Hulu and was bummed to discover that there was only one season. I love any shows that revolve around music like, 'CBGB's, 'Rock & Roll', 'Vinyl,' 'Treme', 'The Get Down' etc. Hell, I even enjoyed ' Glee' & 'Smash.'. Just like 'Vinyl' and 'The Get Down' this show ended far too soon. I'll be enjoying the 'Roadies' soundtrack on Spotify for some time now.

Side note: I just looked it up & 91% of google users like 'Roadies.' It currently has a 7.4 IMDB rating; yet, it only has a 34% score on Rotten Tomatoes. What that tells me is that critics tore it apart, but the people enjoyed it. 'Roadies' may not be the best musical themed tv show of all time, but it does deserve to watched & appreciated.

Thank you Cameron Crowe for all your great movies & this show. Please continue to make shows & movies for us to enjoy.

Surprisingly addictive & entertaining
26 March 2021
It's 2021 now, and I see the last episode aired in 2018. Whats the deal Netflix? Bring it back! Anyhow, I doubt I have anything that interesting to offer other than even if you're not a Seinfeld fan, you will still enjoy this. Some episodes are better than others, but there were only about 2 episodes out of 80 something + that I didn't enjoy. The rest were fun & entertaining. I blew through them in only 3 days. Like I said, it's addicting. My only frustration is that they seem to just walk into Radom places for coffee. I mean why not call ahead to see if it was okay to have a film crew in there with all the regular costumers? The whole coffee shop thing feel a little awkward to me because of it. The show could have easily done the show over coffee in the guests house, or at the very least pick a coffee shop and/or restaurant that provides you with a little more privacy. The wait staff always seem annoyed with them & it makes it awkward m. The very least they could do was call ahead & let these people know that you're coming into their establishment with a film crew & that it may interfere with the regular goings on. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. I mean Jerry makes it a point to let us know he tips well, which we would already expect, but in some episodes in particular the whole "coffee shop" set-up seems uncomfortable. Maybe that's part of the comedy, but it feels more strained because of it.

What's your problem Fred?
26 March 2021
I think he was trying to be funny, but honestly he came off as such a jerk it was hard to watch. No wonder the people of Portland don't give a s**t about when he walks into a coffee shop and/or restaurant. Like dude it's funny for a minute, but you're being really annoying, and it makes you look like a major A-hole. Once again No fault of Jerry's, but I was really surprised at how bad a guest Fred was. Like give Jerry something to work with geez! The prior episode was by far the worst, but this episode was disappointing because I love Portlandia so much, and I'm from Seattle, so I was pretty disappointed to say the least. I love the show, and Of course I only i'm on here to rate the bad ones but geez. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way. Why not try to at least pretend you're having a good time? I mean come on now. He acts like it's such a ordeal to sit & walk with Jerry. I mean if you don't want to be on the show just stay home . Ugh. No one feels bad for you Fred. I think Everyone felt bad for Jerry for having to put up with your ass.

26 March 2021
What's wrong with her? I've seen every episode so far and I'm obsessed with all them but this one I definitely had to skip after 5 min. No fault of Jerry's. I'm sorry to whoever this chick is, but man she was not funny & seriously annoying. I'm sorry but no! Who even is this check I don't even know. Who cares. Jerry was a good sport though.

Wrong Turn (2021)
7/10
A shame everyone is judging this based on the previous films in the Wrong Turn Franchise
15 February 2021
This movies plot is in no way connected to the 'Wrong Turn' films from the 90's & 2000's; even though it's made by the same guys, & it shares it's namesake. This film is not titled 'Wrong Turn 7" for a reason. They're simply using the namesake because they own it, and because they know it will get more attention, & word-of-mouth from potential consumers that way. The idea is to produce an updated/fresh version of a horror movie in which a group of attractive young people inevitably take a "wrong turn" in situation in which horror ensues. This film does just that in spades . The kills are original, and the plot is different than the normal deliverance type situation you might expect them to get into. This film should be viewed & reviewed on its own merits, & not because you didn't do your homework before watching it to figure out it's not a sequel or a remake. It does what it set out to achieve in thrilling & unpredictable ways. Everyone who is complaining that it's nothing like the earlier films are correct-this film is not a sequel, nor is it a remake- one has nothing to do with the other. The movie itself is a decent horror movie in its own right. I'm tired of seeing ppl give it such unfair ratings & reviews when, in reality it's really a very above average horror movie. It may not reinvent the wheel, but it's definitely got enough edge-of-your-seat action with great newly inventive kills. I really enjoyed it. I'm actually glad I looked at these poor reviews before watching the movie because my expectations going into it were so low, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Honestly, just don't listen to the haters, and watch it for yourself. Roger and Ebert gave it three stars. That's very impressive.

Is Julian orchestrating the whole thing?
13 February 2021
I'm getting a feeling that Julian has somehow willingly, or under Duress, orchestrated all of this from behind-the-scenes from the very beginning, and the situation is getting increasingly worse daily. It's like Julian's desperate plea to get our of whatever horrible situation he's gotten himself into. He's so desperate that he is willing to go through a lot of trouble to blackmail his sister and his brother-in-law for over 20,000+ dollars. I find it kind of obnoxious how Julian is always trying to up-the-price of the ransom when he's talking with Sean. Like could you be any more obvious? He must be getting help with all this from his so-called wife, and from Natalie, Dorothy's friend and kinesiologist, or "therapist." The woman who suggested the reborn doll to bring Dorothy out of her catatonic state following Jericho's death in the first place. I assume the private investigator, Roscoe, is in on it too, but maybe only recently (after his whole ordeal). The question is why? Is it a race against time to bring the baby back to life? Or maybe a race to bring any of them back to life like Dorthy or Sean? What is the end game? Does Julian owe the cult his life or soul or something? Is someone dead who was promised re-birth? Are the on a different plain? How come everyone is only interacting when inside the Turner House? Is this real life? Is this a simulation? Why do they never leave the house? Are they in limbo? Are they in another dimension? Or is this all just some cult-type sacrifice, or perhaps Julian owes money to someone who has the ability to kill him and everyone he knows? I feel like the show is never going to answer my questions.

God damn it. I'm crying my eyes out in 2021
6 February 2021
I guess I was a little late watching this show. I was Claire's age when this show was on the air. Claire (aka Lauren Ambrose) is 42 now, and I just turned 39 a few days ago, so I had a bit of nostalgia watching this show through her eyes instead of Nate's (who is basically the same age as me now - when he was doing the show that is). I've also been watching Claire simultaneously on M night Shyamalan's 'the servant' for Apple TV, and I have to say she was perfectly cast in both roles. As for SFU, Well, Nate's dead, and Brenda and the entire gang (Ruth, Gorege and everyone else) are moving on, and Claire's finally moving out; although, a little scary sending her off to NY with no job or place to live, but I guess she has that inheritance that was supposed to be for college (i guess she can get away with not getting her degree?) lucky her i guess?-if only we all could get some inheritance money to start out life away from home. That must be nice?. The flash forwards to their deaths was very emotional. I really loved this show, and I'm glad I got to watch it all in one two-week long binge while being home sick in early 2021. I'm really gonna miss this show & these characters. What a great show. Maybe I'll finally watch Dexter now too.

Really, really, really good
27 January 2021
Seriously, why has there been so little publicity for the city for this thing? I only saw it when I came onto IMDB, and boy am I glad I did. I actually couldn't sleep because I couldn't put the phone down (watching on phone in bed instead of sleeping). I thought I'll watch one episode not knowing a single thing other than Sookie Stackhouse (A.k.a. Anna Paquin) was in it, and I ended up staying up all night watching it, and I only got two hours of sleep last night. Really, really, really good.

For All Mankind: A City Upon a Hill (2019)
Season 1, Episode 10
10/10
Wow! Best television Maybe ever
26 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode landed for me in a way that solidified my complete devotion to this show that I didn't know I had until I watched it. What an epic season finale indeed! Like others have already mentioned, make sure to stay tuned to the finale scene after the credits roll. If you read the IMDb trivia for this show you would know that Season 2 will launch Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 with the first of 10 episodes, followed by one new installment dropping weekly. The new season picks up a decade later in 1983 during the height of the Cold War, where tensions between the United States and the USSR at their peak. The soviets & the Americans fight for resources on the moon during Ronald Reagan's run at the presidency. At the end of the post credit scene we see a new spaceship launching from the sea.

Season one was about 'we came in peace for all mankind, but we sacrificed a heck of lot for it.'" Every central Character had to make huge personal sacrifices for the greater good.

After watching the finale we learn that season 2 will be set in 1983 (almost a full 10 years have passed) and you can hear Ed and Karen in the post credit scene watching tv as a new kind of spacecraft is departing from from the middle of an ocean & is apparently carrying a bunch of Plutonium. This is probably going to be a major plot point revolving around the cold-war era where tensions are escalating to the point of nuclear war, and I'm totally here for it. I can not wait. It sounds like season 2 is going to be a brutal ride. No more Mr. Nice guy moon co-habitations. This is war!
