Standoff (2006–2007)

Upbeat, fast-paced with a nice mix of humour

I like this show, it's refreshing, I like that they've "already done the deed" and it isn't the tired old game of waiting to see when they go to bed that kills some shows when it happens.

I like seeing some of my favorites actors again. Gina Torres played a goddess in Angel, a gun toting space scavenger in Firefly, and here she portrays the head of the department. She portrays a character that leads with a firm hand, yet has a sense of humour, (ie the no wedding comment) and I love her voice. I like that she portrays women who aren't screaming meamies. She can take care of herself in any situation, yet is still smart enough to know when to ask for help.

The combination of humour and professionalism makes for great TV watching.

I really enjoy E-ring, it is a riveting show, that while it may contain technical errors, is doing a good job of providing an hour's entertainment that I look forward to every week. I do wish the station would stop bouncing it around all over the place, though. Major Tisnewski is an ideal soldier, and the rest of the group seem to care about each other. It is a fast-paced drama that does require one to pay attention to keep up, but I usually find that it's easy to stay absorb in the show. The only problem I have with the show is I do wonder if a real person in Tisnewski's position would find himself in the field that often. I also hope the "love interest" with the lawyer doesn't go anywhere, I'd hate to see the show go down the road of a scandal caused by love. I think both are capable of finding true love elsewhere. Or, perhaps write Tisnewski into another position that would allow the affair to proceed without tarnishing their reputations.
