Americans take it for granted that they live in one of the world's most sophisticated democracies where every vote counts. Until now. At the beginning of the 21st century, the very companies that participated in Florida's election fraud are now supplying voting machines that produce no paper record. Instead of reassuring the public with a transparent process, these private corporations have refused to allow voters and governmental officials to inspect their software, claiming their algorithms are trade secrets and hoping to dispel concerns by mounting test votes.
