Accidental Home
Kampala, Uganda 2005, the police gave to a North American citizen, Robert Fleming, the legal custody of a new born child: her mother was psychotic and had tried to kill the baby girl after birth. After some time Robert started to rescue other kids in similar circumstances and within a year he saw himself taking care of twelve little ones. A group of young women from Spain joined him and begun to gather money and support for RobertÂ’s solidarity project: a home for abandoned children in the heart of Uganda that later turned out to be the NGO Malayaka House. The film shows how a humanitarian project was born out of sheer voluntary work and the difficulties that they must endure in a country like Uganda.
