My all-time favorite adaptation of my favorite book. It's also the one that moved me the most emotionally.

Perhaps my favorite comedy, period.

4. Muppet Treasure Island (1996)

64 Metascore

The Muppets set sail in search of treasure, with Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver.

Director: Brian Henson | Stars: Tim Curry, Billy Connolly, Jennifer Saunders, Kevin Bishop

Votes: 26,566 | Gross: $33.61M

The one Muppet movie that is not only the most solid in it's pacing, but also has the most fun and adventure to offer. It also contains one of Tim Curry's best performances. You also can't go wrong with Billy Connolly.

5. The Jungle Book (1967)

65 Metascore

Bagheera the Panther and Baloo the Bear have a difficult time trying to convince a boy to leave the jungle for human civilization.

Director: Wolfgang Reitherman | Stars: Phil Harris, Sebastian Cabot, Louis Prima, Bruce Reitherman

Votes: 198,688 | Gross: $141.84M

My favorite Disney animated film. It's also the funniest and contains not only one of my favorite Disney songs ("Trust in Me") but also has one of the funniest, most dysfunctional Disney families you'll ever see: Baloo, Bagheera, and Mowgli.

6. Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)

PG | 131 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy

58 Metascore

After rescuing Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt, the Rebel Alliance attempt to destroy the second Death Star, while Luke struggles to help Darth Vader back from the dark side.

Director: Richard Marquand | Stars: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams

Votes: 1,121,533 | Gross: $309.13M

The most satisfying "Star Wars" film (sorry, Empire fans). It's also the most rousing, emotional and satisfying overall. Sebastian Shaw steals the show with a powerful perfomance as the redeemed Darth Vader.

7. Daffy Duck's Quackbusters (1988)

G | 72 min | Animation, Action, Adventure

Daffy Duck opens a detective agency for the supernatural along side his Looney Toon buddies.

Directors: Greg Ford, Friz Freleng, Chuck Jones, Terry Lennon, Robert McKimson, Maurice Noble | Stars: Mel Blanc, Mel Tormé, Roy Firestone, B.J. Ward

Votes: 2,672

The funniest Looney Tunes film, this is more then a mere clip show. It's a gathering of some very funny 80's riffs and some really underrated gems featuring Daffy.

8. Ed Wood (1994)

R | 127 min | Biography, Comedy, Drama

71 Metascore

Ambitious but troubled movie director Edward D. Wood Jr. tries his best to fulfill his dreams despite his lack of talent.

Director: Tim Burton | Stars: Johnny Depp, Martin Landau, Sarah Jessica Parker, Patricia Arquette

Votes: 183,986 | Gross: $5.89M

A very funny and surprisingly touching look at the Worst Director of All-Time.

9. The Wizard of Oz (1939)

PG | 102 min | Adventure, Family, Fantasy

92 Metascore

Young Dorothy Gale and her dog Toto are swept away by a tornado from their Kansas farm to the magical Land of Oz, and embark on a quest with three new friends to see the Wizard, who can return her to her home and fulfill the others' wishes.

Directors: Victor Fleming, King Vidor | Stars: Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr

Votes: 428,680 | Gross: $2.08M

The ultimate fantasy film. Very frequently ripped-off, parodied and "lovingly homaged" this has been never been and probably never will be topped, let alone outmatched.

10. Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)

R | 93 min | Comedy, Drama

72 Metascore

A Chicago advertising man must struggle to travel home from New York for Thanksgiving, with a lovable oaf of a shower-curtain-ring salesman as his only companion.

Director: John Hughes | Stars: Steve Martin, John Candy, Laila Robins, Michael McKean

Votes: 160,275 | Gross: $49.53M

Steve Martin's best film and Candy's best performance, this buddy/road comedy has everything I could ever want from it. I will always feel that Candy was robbed of an Oscar nomination.
