I'm an oldschool Broadway fag. The movie had a lot of great elements, but the actual music wasn't quite done justice. Plus there was a lot of ham, stupid recitatives, needless line replacements, abridgements and awkward deliveries.
But still, I cried, despite having been familiar with the novel and the musical since I was a wee child. So it gets cry points.
