- DirectorPeter JacksonStarsIan McKellenMartin FreemanRichard ArmitageBilbo Baggins and company are forced to engage in a war against an array of combatants and keep the Lonely Mountain from falling into the hands of a rising darkness. The epic and thrilling conclusion of Middle-earth saga. Watched on Cinemark XD (HFR 3D) at December 20, 2014 - DirectorRian JohnsonStarsJoseph Gordon-LevittBruce WillisEmily BluntIn 2074, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, the target is sent into the past, where a hired gun awaits - someone like Joe - who one day learns the mob wants to 'close the loop' by sending back Joe's future self for assassination.Messy science fiction, boring action and empty characters. I did not like anything in this movie. Watched on Netflix at December 21, 2014
- DirectorCurtis HansonStarsKevin SpaceyRussell CroweGuy PearceAs corruption grows in 1950s Los Angeles, three policemen - one strait-laced, one brutal, and one sleazy - investigate a series of murders with their own brand of justice. What an amazing movie! many great actors. - DirectorJ.C. ChandorStarsZachary QuintoStanley TucciKevin SpaceyFollows the key people at an investment bank over a 24-hour period during the early stages of the 2008 financial crisis.A good film about a bank in the beginning of the financial crisis. With Kevin Spacey in good performance. Watched via streming at December 26, 2014
- DirectorWilliam A. WellmanHarry d'Abbadie d'ArrastStarsClara BowCharles 'Buddy' RogersRichard ArlenTwo young men, one rich, one middle class, who are in love with the same woman, become fighter pilots in World War I.I started watching this movie only as a curiosity; a silent film of nearly one hundred years ago. But I was surprised by a beautiful story of courage, friendship, love, and war, and by complex and well executed aerial battles. The restoration is excellent and the soundtrack and sound effects very well executed. For the record, Mary's breasts appears for a second at 1:25 '. Watched on Blu-ray at December 31, 2014
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleHugh JackmanScarlett JohanssonAfter a tragic accident, two stage magicians in 1890s London engage in a battle to create the ultimate illusion while sacrificing everything they have to outwit each other.Nolan knows how to build a plot. Sometimes it looks like a cheap trick like Memento or a great act as in Inception. This "The Prestige" lies between these two extremes. A good thriller, but that is not enough to carry out fully as we are promised. Still quite liked this 'game of illusions'.
Watched on Netflix at December 31, 2014. - DirectorDoug LimanStarsTom CruiseEmily BluntBill PaxtonA soldier fighting aliens gets to relive the same day over and over again, the day restarting every time he dies.Action, time travel and aliens. I really liked. Watched on Digital HD at January 1, 2015

Meanwhile the "paulistano" Edgar, who killed a mother and her son two years ago in a car accident, invites the "motoboy" and thief Velinha to steal the escorted courier that is carrying the pouch with the money to be delivered to Jader. How their lives are entwined? One of the best Brazilian films I've seen. Interesting, fun and somewhat violent. Watched on Netflix at January 10, 2015
- DirectorJames FargoStarsClint EastwoodTyne DalyHarry GuardinoInspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan reluctantly teams up with rookie Inspector Kate Moore to foil a terrorist organization made up of disgruntled Vietnam veterans.Despite following the same formula of the two previous films in the "Dirty Harry" series, this is still a good thriller. And the most light-hearted of the three films. Watched on Blu-ray at January 11, 2015
- DirectorGuy RitchieStarsJason StathamBrad PittStephen GrahamUnscrupulous boxing promoters, violent bookmakers, a Russian gangster, incompetent amateur robbers and supposedly Jewish jewelers fight to track down a priceless stolen diamond. This film is admittedly superficial, if not downright disposable. More importantly, though, "Snatch" is also fun to watch.

- DirectorLuc BessonStarsLouise BourgoinMathieu AmalricGilles LelloucheAn adventure set in the early part of the 20th century and focused on a popular novelist and her dealings with would-be suitors, the cops, monsters, and other distractions. The (not so) 'Extraordinary Adventures of Adele' suffers from the slow pace common to French films. The protagonist is a fun and unusual journalist trying to save his sister by the magic of the mummies. A kinda cool movie. Watched on VOD at February 16, 2015.
