I mean it's basically the comic book but in an audio/visual medium, granted it's not 100% of the comic considering that writing and creating the comic panels is easier and less expensive than spending millions on CGI, Sets, costumes and actors. It they wanted to adapt the comic they would have had to make a TV show probably on HBO and I'd say that 2018 would be a good place to start filming but that'll never happen.
