She could play almost every role given to her with utmost dedication and brilliance, making her presence known by using her body moments and facial expressions to give depth to the character.
Her appearance in the films of Mikio Naruse and Keisuke Kinoshita usually portraying women in post-war Japan and their Struggles, not only made her one of the most respected daughters of Japan, but also helped their films be recognised and admired in the Western Countries.
