As Yoda himself once said, "Always two there are, no more, no less… A master and an apprentice." That might now apply to animated anthologies that tie into other in-universe Star Wars stories, because following 2022's Tales Of The Jedi, we now have its dark twin, Tales Of The Empire. Check out the trailer for the new series:
Created and written once again by Dave Filoni (who also serves as supervising director), this, as the title might lead you to believe, features stories from the point of view of the Galactic Empire. We follow two warriors on divergent paths in different eras. One, Morgan Elsbeth channels the loss of everything and everyone she loves into a seething anger that offers the Imperial forces (especially Lars Mikkelsen's Thrawn) something they can exploit.
There is also former Jedi Barriss Offee (Meredith Salenger) who is forced to do whatever it takes to survive a rapidly changing galaxy.

There are two sides to every story, but nothing is ever really black and white, good versus evil, or even Jedi versus Empire.

The six-episode show follows two warriors on divergent paths, set during different eras: After losing everything, young Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto) navigates the expanding Imperial world toward a path of vengeance, per the official synopsis, while former Jedi Barriss Offee (Meredith Salenger) does what she must to survive a rapidly changing galaxy. The choices they make will define their destinies.

Lucasfilm has revealed the first teaser trailer for "Star Wars: Tales of the Empire." Though not exactly a season 2, per se, this serves as a follow-up to 2022's acclaimed "Tales of the Jedi." That show was a series of animated shorts that focused on two interwoven tales of Jedi at crucial times in their development, namely Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku before he fell to the dark side. Similarly, this new series will be focusing on two different figures within the Empire: Morgan Elsbeth and former Jedi Barriss Offee. Check it out for yourself above.

One might notice little odd camera tricks and visual continuity errors throughout all the "Star Wars" movies if one looks closely enough. For instance, there is a scene in George Lucas' "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" wherein Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) is about to fight the evil robotic lizard General Grievous (Matthew Wood). Grievous first tries to send a few attack droids after Obi-Wan, but the Jedi uses his mental powers to pull a large object from the ceiling and send it crashing onto their heads. Grievous and Obi-Wan proceed to have a proper lightsaber fight. One might notice, though, that the crushed droids and the large chunk of ceiling are nowhere to be seen. Clearly, the filmmakers didn't bother to invent a reason why those things were gone.

“It’s a very innovative show…everything in front of the camera is designed by somebody, is created by somebody,” describes Dean Cundey of “The Mandalorian, “There’s nothing off the shelf. It’s all a product of human artistry and imagination.” The film legend picked up an Emmy nomination for Cinematography for a Series (Half Hour) for his work on the Disney+ series, and he admits to having a ball playing inside the “Star Wars” universe. “It’s such a wonderful change of pace from shooting against real backgrounds,” he reveals. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
“The Mandalorian” is a largely virtual production, shooting many scenes on a stage called The Volume. The set consists of a curved screen which allows digital environments to be projected on it and move with the camera in real-time. “Star Wars has that special feel where it’s something that’s only heard in our universe,” notes Matthew Wood of the iconic sounds of the franchise. So with the recent work on Disney+ series in the “Star Wars” galaxy, he and Scott R. Lewis needed to ensure that the classic sound design was “going to be paid homage to as well as create new places for it to go.” The Television Academy clearly enjoyed those new places, as Wood and Lewis received Emmy nominations for sound editing and sound mixing, respectively, for both “The Mandalorian” and “Obi-Wan Kenobi.” Watch the exclusive video interview above.
“It’s great being part of the toolbox,” notes Wood, the library of effects at his disposal at Skywalker Sound. “All these new directors coming in who have their vision…but they also want it to feel connected to Star Wars, and sound really is...

Most of the world knows Mark Hamill by sight. He played Luke Skywalker in the "Star Wars" franchise, an acting gig that has spanned over four decades. You might even have an action figure of him in your house right now. In addition, Hamill has slayed audiences with his voice work as the Joker in Batman TV shows, animated projects, and video games since 1992. Hamill's voice work (including his insanely accurate impression of "Star Wars" co-star Harrison Ford) is incredible, and while he won a Daytime Emmy for his role in "Elena of Avalor," he was never even nominated for the Joker. That's a crime, and it's unlikely to happen now that his Batman counterpart Kevin Conroy has died.
One job he did get a Daytime Emmy nomination for was voicing Darth Bane in season 6, episode 13 of the animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," entitled "Sacrifice." However, according to...

Actor Jake Lloyd has had a fraught relationship with "Star Wars." At age nine, Lloyd auditioned to play the young Anakin Skywalker — a.k.a. the young Darth Vader — in George Lucas' hotly anticipated prequel film "Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace." Although initially beloved, "The Phantom Menace" quickly soured in the mind of the public, and over the course of the following few years, transformed into one of the most hated blockbusters of its era. These days, one can find any number of critical internet videos picking apart "The Phantom Menace" in excruciating detail. Many fans pointed specifically to Lloyd's performance as one of the many culprits in the film's quality, and Lloyd was bullied incessantly online for many years. In 2001, when he was 12, Lloyd elected to retire from acting altogether, burned all his "Star Wars" merch, and has attempted to live in peace ever since. His life...

More than four decades after he first voiced arguably cinema’s most famous villain, James Earl Jones has ended his career as Darth Vader, with Vanity Fair reporting that the 91-year-old actor has agreed to allow a Ukrainian AI company to replicate his voice for future “Star Wars” titles.
In Vanity Fair’s new report published on Friday, sound artists at Lucasfilm and the Ukrainian AI speech company Respeecher discussed how Jones’ voice was recreated digitally for the recently released Disney+ series “Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi,” which saw prequel trilogy stars Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen return as Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker. Though Christensen wore Vader’s infamous suit in the series, it was Respeecher that provided his voice during his duels with his former master and the Sith Inquisitor Reva Sevander.
“He had mentioned he was looking into winding down this particular character,” Lucasfilm Supervising Sound Editor Matthew Wood said.

One of the most iconic voices in film history belongs to James Earl Jones. Now 91 years young, the legendary actor seems to be taking steps towards winding down his career. But, wanting his most famous character, Darth Vader, to live on, Jones has signed over the rights to his voice to A.I. company Respeecher – based in Ukraine – to keep the character alive even if he were to pass on. The info was revealed in a recent Vanity Fair story, which revealed that Respeecher was responsible for creating Vader’s dialogue in the recent Obi-Wan Kenobi series. In the article, it was revealed that the last time Jones himself recorded dialogue for the role was in a brief bit in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
During these sessions, Jones, according to Lucasfilm’s Matthew Wood, inquired about a possible way forward for the character were he no longer able to voice it.

James Earl Jones is 91 years young, and after voicing the character for 40 years, it sounds like he has finally moved on from the role of Darth Vader. By now, "Star Wars" fans have gotten used to seeing actors digitally resurrected or de-aged, as in the case of Peter Cushing and Carrie Fisher in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and Mark Hamill in "The Book of Boba Fett." Lightsaber combat is an integral part of Star Wars DNA. The franchise is an amalgamation of many different genres, and a "laser sword" combines the futurism of science fiction with the chivalry of medieval knights. Even if it doesn't feel as exciting today as it was in 1977, Obi-Wan Kenobi's (Sir Alec Guinness) duel with Darth Vader (David Prowse) in "Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope" established a key aspect of the saga. After defeating Emperor Palpatine, Rose, Rey, Finn, Poe, and Chewbacca take a vacation. Throughout their adventure, they discover that a number of other Star Wars characters in history have also tried to take vacations…which hasn’t always gone well for them.
We’re officially in the final stretch of summer, and you know what that means… a new Lego Star Wars movie? Sure, why not? These can be relatively cute and funny films that you can throw on for your young one or put in the background while you’re doing some work or something.

Matthew Wood has probably played more "Star Wars" characters than any other actor. Thanks to his involvement in feature films, TV shows, video games, and ancillary shorts, Wood has played Kylo Ren, Anakin Skywalker, General Grievous, Bib Fortuna, various Battle Droids, Ig-88, D-o, Darth Maul, C3-po, and Magaloof. His voice work, however, is done in addition to his career as a sound designer, a line of work that began for Wood in the early 1990s with the film "Soap Dish" and the series "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles." Wood had since worked on notable blockbusters like "The Rock," "Mission: Impossible," "Volcano,"...
