It has been an incredibly tough time for the gaming industry, as there have been thousands of layoffs and several studio closures in 2023 and 2024. The latest studio to fall victim to this sad trend is the Los Angeles-based and PlayStation-backed development studio Deviation Games, which is shutting down.
The reports of the studio’s closure first emerged when employees shared on LinkedIn that the studio had been closed, and the officials at Deviation Games later confirmed this.
PlayStation’s Deviation Games Has Been Shut Down
Deviation Games has been shut down even before releasing its first title.
Shortly after the news of the studio’s closure surfaced on the internet, Deviation’s Chief Human Resources and Operations Officer, Kriste Stull, took to LinkedIn and said that the studio has shut down and that it will soon be hosting a networking event to help its employees that are impacted by the closure.

The Writers Guild of America has just announced the nominations for their annual awards for Best Screenplays (by writers who are guild signatories). That’s right, before you get nervous thinking that your favorite may have been left off the list, you must remember that the WGA is the group that is not all-inclusive and leaves out several of the top contenders each year due to them not being part of the guild or not following their very specific rules. For this reason, you won’t see Inside Out, The Hateful Eight, and Ex Machina in the Original Screenplay category or Room, Brooklyn, or Anomalisa in the Adapted screenplay category.
Taking a look at what’s left over for the nominations, we find many that were expected to make a showing, including Spotlight and Bridge of Spies for Original Screenplay, though they apparently had to sink to really low depths...

Maron returns to the subject of sex and relationships in its latest episode, which is another strong entry from the comedy series...

1.7 Sex Fest
After last week's excellent episode exploring the nature of addiction and making up for past indiscretions, we're back to the pursuit of love once again as Marc recounts when he experienced the six stages of a relationship over the course of a weekend, or just under twenty minutes for us viewers. The six stages are: courtship, romance, disillusionment, distress, reconciliation and commitment, which is different from the stages of relationships the twice-divorced Marc had experienced so far: meet, struggle and destroy.
The relationship is initiated by a fan of Marc's, an avid podcast listener who takes it upon herself to email him a picture of her vagina inviting him to a 'sex fest' with her whilst...

Maron takes addiction as its theme this week, and boasts a nuanced, emotional performance from Danny Trejo...
This review contains spoilers.
1.6 Sponsor
After back-to-back episodes exploring near identical themes, just framed slightly differently, this week we explore another unsavoury aspect of Marc's life past and present: addiction stemming from his addictive personality.
Although confronting addiction is the main theme of the episode, it starts with a confrontation with a stuck-up barista who refuses to serve an iced espresso as it compromises the integrity of the beans. It's the kind of encounter from which neither party emerges in a great light but both believe they're absolutely in the right. Rather than it being merely a random exchange, it feeds into the through-line of the episode rather well.
The exploration of addiction is done through a new member of the AA group Marc attends reacting favourably...
