Prime Video has released the first photos from My Lady Jane, the quick-witted romantic new series set in an alt-fantasy Tudor world. The series will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on Thursday, June 27, in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
Inspired by the best-selling book, My Lady Jane is a radical retelling of English royal history, in which King Henry VIII’s son Edward does not die of tuberculosis, Lady Jane Grey is not beheaded, and neither is her rascal of a husband, Guildford.
At the center of this rollicking new series is the brilliant and headstrong Jane, who is unexpectedly crowned queen overnight and finds herself the target of nefarious villains coming for the crown (and her head)… My Lady Jane is an epic tale of true love and high adventure, where the damsel in distress saves herself, her true love, and then the Kingdom.

Production is reportedly about to begin on a Christmas special of Gavin And Stacey, with Ruth Jones and James Corden said to be making a return.
When Ruth Jones and James Corden brought Gavin and Stacey back for a Christmas special five years ago, around 18 million people tuned in. In modern TV terms, that’s an astonishing achievement.
According to Deadline, pre-production work is now underway on a new Christmas special, once again written by co-writers and stars James Corden and Ruth Jones. The majority of the main cast, which includes Corden as Smithy, Jones as Nessa, Alison Steadman as Pam, Rob Brydon as Uncle Bryn, Davis as Dawn, Mathew Horne as Gavin, Joanna Page as Stacey, Melanie Walters as Gwen, Larry Lamb as Mick and Adrian Scarborough as Pete, are expected to return.

Gavin & Stacey’s 2019 Christmas special was huge. Bigger than huge. Do some bad maths, and you could even say that it was watched by one in three people in the UK population (you’d be wrong but when has that ever stopped anybody making statistical assertions).
Outside of state funerals, royal weddings or pandemic lockdown broadcasts, nothing much on British TV gets over 18 million viewers, let alone something nice, and the 2019 Gavin & Stacey Christmas special was very nice. Which is why they’re rumoured to be doing another one.
As reported by Deadline, but yet to be confirmed by the BBC or the show’s production companies, Ruth Jones and James Corden have written a new episode, which is due to film this summer “with a view to airing at Christmas time this year, five years on from the previous ratings-topping special.” The news coincides with Corden’s return to...

Exclusive: Beloved BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey is set to return for another bite at the Christmas cherry.
Deadline understands the sitcom from James Corden and Ruth Jones will film a new episode over the summer with a view to airing at Christmas time this year, five years on from the previous ratings-topping special.
We are told the special is in development/pre-production and cameras will roll in a few months time on the show, which is produced by Steve Coogan’s Baby Cow, Jones’ Tidy Productions and Fulwell 73, which is co-owned by Corden.
Gavin & Stacey is doubtless one of the most beloved British sitcoms of all time and the 2019 Christmas special was the most-watched show in a decade at more than 18 million viewers.
Mild spoiler: It ended with a cliffhanger, with Nessa (Jones) proposing to the ever-cheeky but loveable Smithy (Corden). That cliffhanger has led to undimmed chatter...

Barbie (read our review Here) is currently dominating the box office, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if it goes on to rack up some Oscar nominations as well. There are few bad days that can’t be remedied by watching an episode of Would I Lie To You?
This award-winning BBC panel show has been making us laugh for over 15 years thanks to hilarious repeat performances from the likes of Bob Mortimer and Rhod Gilbert, and the top-tier chemistry between team captains Lee Mack and David Mitchell and host Rob Brydon.
It’s created so many legendary funny moments that picking a favourite is almost impossible, but here are the Would I Lie To You? stories that have gone down in TV history:
16. Henning Wehn Goes Missing in Morocco
Henning Wehn appears to have gone to the Kevin Bridges School of Storytelling (more on that later) – his yarns have a similarly scatter-brained approach that are pleasingly impossible to predict. Here he claims Interpol listed him as a missing person when he went on a bike ride in Spain...

Dick Van Dyke will make his soap opera debut on Days Of Our Lives.
The 97-year-old is set to appear as a guest star on a forthcoming episode of the long-running series.
Van Dyke told Access Hollywood that the role came about after he met Days Of Our Lives star Drake Hogestyn at the gym and asked him for a part on the show.
“I used to kid him, ‘Don’t you have any parts for old people? Come on, give me one.’ And he took me seriously and got me a part!” he told the outlet in a video interview.
The episode – which will air in autumn – Van Dyke will play a man with amnesia, appearing in a scene with cast members Hogestyn and Deidre Hall.
During the Access Hollywood segment, Carol Burnett offered Van Dyke some advice. Burnett previously had a recurring role on All My Children in the Eighties.

Funko is doing a bit of damage control in the wake of last week’s big news about the future of Mondo, which was purchased by the company less than one year ago. Last week it was reported that the Mondo division of Funko was hit with massive layoffs that included the two co-founders of the popular Mondo brand, Rob Jones and Mitch Putnam.
The Wrap reported last week, “They killed the poster division, which is a shock considering that’s how Mondo started, along with a division meant for cutting-edge experiences and products called The Lab, which was run by Mondo co-founder Rob Jones, who was also laid off during the process. Mitch Putnam, another co-founder, also got the axe. As of now, the only two divisions of the company that remain are the toys and records divisions. Brian Mariotti, CEO of Funko, posted a message to fans of Mondo, the high-end collectibles company it acquired last year, after Mondo was hit with layoffs. As part of Funko’s 10% job cuts across the company, Mondo co-founders Mitch Putnam and Rob Jones as well as senior creative director Eric Garza were laid off last week.
In a Twitter post Thursday, Mariotti confirmed that there were layoffs at Mondo but said “the majority of the companywide layoffs weren’t in Mondo.” He also wrote that contrary to early reports last week that Mondo was shutting down the posters division, “the Mondo posters business will continue, period.”
That said, according to Mariotti, “We feel that making extremely limited runs of posters, most of which are 150 pieces or under, limits access to fans unfairly. Many of these posters are bought with the sole purpose of flipping them at a much higher cost...

“In the heyday of cinema, everyone was making a film a year.”
Prolific UK director Michael Winterbottom has railed against the pace of filmmaking in the UK, saying it has become the norm to make a film just once every three or four years.
“It’s worth remembering that in the heyday of cinema, everyone was making a film a year,” said the director who has made over 30 films in his career. “People were making 20 or 30 films – that, I think, is healthy. If you think about how things have changed since then, nothing has got more complicated; in fact it has got easier.

Craig Revel Horwood has questioned Hamza Yassin’s Strictly Come Dancing win.
The judge shared his candid views on the subject while discussing the BBC competition’s latest series on Magic Radio.
Wildlife presenter Yassin was announced as the latest winner of Strictly in December 2022, and he beat Helen Skelton and Fleur East to take home the Glitterball trophy.
However, Horwood believes that, while Yassin “did an absolutely spectacular job”, East should have won the series.
“Fleur, can I say this on Magic, darling? She was robbed,” he told presenters Ronan Keating and Harriet Scott.
“There you go – that’s just me,” he continued.
“I mean, I absolutely love Fleur. For me, in the final, anyone could have won. I think Hamza did an absolutely spectacular job and he had all the audience behind him, which is really important as well.

Rob Brydon’s tongue-in-cheek reaction to Ken Bruce quitting BBC Radio 2 after 31 years has been getting attention from fans on Twitter.
On Tuesday (17 January), the veteran radio host announced that he had decided to step away from the corporation, where he has been employed for 45 years.
Bruce has hosted the 9:30am to 12pm weekday show on BBC Radio 2 since 1990, and became one of the best-loved presenters, in part thanks to PopMaster, a game that tests listeners’ music knowledge.
He will join radio station Greatest Hits in April, and has confirmed he will bring PopMaster with him to his new job.
Comedian Brydon, who has stood in for Bruce many times on his radio show and once even impersonated him for an entire two-and-a-half hours on air, paid tribute to Bruce’s tenure with a humorous tweet.

"Smells like a…" "a mystery." Viva Pictures in the US has revealed a new 30-sec trailer, which we can also feature with the full-length Sky Cinema UK trailer, for this animated movie arriving soon. The Amazing Maurice was just announced as a premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival in the "Kids" section, and it first premiered at the Manchester Animation Festival in the UK just last month. This story follows Maurice, a goofy streetwise cat, who has the perfect money-making scam involving a group of talking rats that he has befriended. When Maurice and the rodents reach the town of Bad Blintz, they encounter Malicia and their con runs into some other trouble. Featuring the voices of Hugh Laurie, Emilia Clarke, Himesh Patel, Gemma Arterton, David Thewlis, Joe Sugg, Ariyon Bakare, Rob Brydon, plus Hugh Bonneville. As a Sundance premiere, this has to be much better than it seems at first glance.

The BBC has revealed that Radio 2 will play a censored version of “Fairytale of New York” for the 2022 Christmas period.
Every year, when the festive season rolls around, the song makes headlines due to its lyrics, which contains the word “f****t”.
The 1987 track, which is performed by Kirsty MacColl and The Pogues frontman Shane McGowan, is considered offensive due to the word’s use as a homophobic slur.
However, some argue that the context of the song means the word should be interpreted as traditional Irish slang for a “lazy person”.
The ongoing debate has led to several radio stations deciding to play a version of the track in which the line “you cheap, lousy f****t” is replaced with “you’re cheap and you’re haggard”, taken from a live MacColl performance from before her death in December 2000.

Lily James recently stunned in a plunging corset top.
The British actress posed against a black background wearing Versace for the premiere of What’s Love Got To Do With? at the Toronto International Film Festival.
She wore a plunging black corset top, which she matched with a pair of stylish oversized pants.
This look accentuated the actress’ curves, as the low-rise pants fell comfortably on her hips.
James first posted an up-close picture on her Instagram of the look in black and white, then a shot of the whole outfit.
In the first picture, we can see her shiny blonde curled hair as well as some earrings adorning each one of her piercings.

Ricky Gervais has appeared to respond to criticism from comedian Stewart Lee of his Netflix series After Life.
The Office creator’s latest comedy-drama premiered its third and final season on the streaming service earlier this year.
In an interview with Rob Brydon for his podcast Brydon &, Lee described After Life as “abysmal”, also branding it “one of the worst things that’s ever been made by a human”.
While Ricky Gervais has yet to explicitly acknowledge the jibe by Lee, he tweeted on Saturday (10 September): “Watch the award-winning, record-breaking #AfterLife Now streaming on Netflix around the world.”
Alongside this message, he shared a clip from the series in which his abrasive character, Tony, calls someone else a “fat, hairy, nosy c**ksucker”.
Gervais also “liked” a number of posts about Lee from his fans, including a post in which someone describes Lee as “never-been-funny”.

Acclaimed comedian Stewart Lee has heaped scorn on Ricky Gervais’s hit Netflix series After Life.
After Life follows the exploits of a curmudgeonly widower (Gervais) who slowly rediscovers his lust for life.
In an interview with Rob Brydon for his podcast Brydon &, Lee discussed the merits of Gervais’s series, describing it as “abysmal”.
“I think The Office is brilliant. I think Ricky’s comedy drama work is of diminishing returns to the point where it’s now abysmal,” he said. “I think it must be very sad.
“If you’re teaching drama or creative writing, how can you make a case for the things that make drama and creative writing good when After Life is a success? Because your kids could just go, ‘But none of those things happen in this!’ And yet, millions people watch it.
