Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War will be 2024’s Cod title and will release later in the year. Although we are yet to see any footage or even official stills from the upcoming Fps, we already know which war Treyarch is throwing players into. This has been common knowledge amongst the fan community for a while now thanks to multiple sources familiar with Activision’s plans corroborating the info.
For those who may not be aware, the Gulf War began in 1990 before ending just a year later in 1991 and consisted of two phases: Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. These operations, along with the decision to go to war itself, were spearheaded by the US, whom established a 42-country coalition to assist in the aforementioned large scale military operations. This is where things get murky.
Will Black Ops Gulf War Commit to Showing the Shady, Manipulative Tactics of the US Government?...

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Jimmy Kimmel Live! is a mainstay of ABC’s schedule, its late-night anchor and frequent Emmy nominee. Joining me for a conversation for Deadline’s Contenders TV: Doc + Unscripted event were executive producer/co-head writer Molly McNearney, co-head writer/supervising producer Danny Ricker and supervising producer/writer Gary Greenberg.
McNearney, who also is married to the host, talked about the challenges of turning out a nightly late-night talk show and keeping it fresh after all these years.

“I think the biggest challenge is probably just having coming up with original content every single night, and it’s weird because late-night can feel like it’s the same.” she said. “The day can feel repetitive because the formula of the day stays the same. Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather is set to be interviewed April 25 on CBS Sunday Morning 18 years after his controversial exit from the network.
The episode logline reads, “Lee Cowan talks with former CBS News anchor Dan Rather about his work at CBS and his life in news.”
The 92-year-old journalist exited under a cloud. A 60 Minutes II report in 2004 made allegations that President George W. Bush went Awol during part of his time in the Texas Air National Guard.
The Bush administration disputed the authenticity of the documents cited in the story. CBS investigated and found that the piece disregarded “fundamental journalistic principles.” The documents were not proved to be forgeries, casting doubts on the entire incident.
Rather was removed from the anchor desk in 2005 before being fired the subsequent year. Producer Mary Mapes and three news executives were also let go from CBS for their involvement.

Tobias Menzies has become one of our most reliably excellent actors of late. Classically trained, he had an extensive theatre career in his native England during the noughties and early 2010s before he rose to prominence with roles in “Game of Thrones” and “Outlander.”
Menzies’ profile then increased further thanks to his lauded portrayal of Prince Phillip in “The Crown” and his stock has again risen thanks to his role as another major historical figure in Apple TV’s “Manhunt.” The acclaimed limited series follows the death of President Abraham Lincoln (played by Hamish Linklater) and the subsequent 12-day manhunt for assassin John Wilkes Booth (Anthony Boyle).
Menzies stars as Edwin Stanton, the Secretary of State and personal friend of Lincoln who headed up the hunt for Booth. Menzies proves himself capable of carrying this compelling show entirely on his own. His complex, gruff portrayal of Stanton is what makes the series soar,...

An exasperated Bill Maher, notorious for not having his own children, asked on Friday’s ‘Real Time’ why he is the one who is always left trying to defend them.
In his “New Rules” editorial, Maher trained his guns on the shocking Max documentary Quiet on Set, which detailed what the past young stars went through on the Nick sets. “Omg,” was Maher’s opening salvo.
Maher said that the Nickelodeon depicted “wasn’t a studio – it was Neverland Ranch with craft services.” He said the documentary was “scene after scene of the child stars of their day being exposed to…degradation.” He added, “I was grossed out and I’ve gone camping with John Waters.”
The documentary is the talk of the town in Los Angeles, Maher said, but pointed out that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was derided when he was saying the same things about Disney’s actions.

Where does The Dark Knight stand on the 43rd president of the US? According to Jonathan Nolan’s latest interview, he’s been accused of taking both sides…
Jonathan Nolan has been taking a rare trip on the interview circuit in the run-up to the release of his new Prime show, Fallout, and he’s even found time to drop a few comments about some of the blockbuster films on his resume too.
Speaking to Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the younger Nolan had plenty to say on everything from the struggle to get a US distributor for Memento to the ambiguous ending of The Dark Knight Rises.
But, remembering the appropriately blockbuster response to the release of his and his brother’s second Batman film, it sounds like Jonathan had a couple of concerns about how the film would end up being received by audiences.

Elvis Presley‘s Graceland is on the National Register of Historic Places and was named a National Historic Landmark. It is a must-see for music fans who travel to Memphis, Tennessee, to view items which are part of the King of Rock and Roll’s legacy. However, it was also where a sitting United States president and Japan’s prime minister unleashed their inner rock stars, to the delight of Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie and his ex-wife Priscilla Presley.
Graceland has only hosted 1 sitting U.S. president
In 2006, United States President George W. Bush visited Elvis Presley’s Graceland home. He was the first sitting president to do so.
However, the visit wasn’t directly for President Bush and his wife, Laura. The visit was for the benefit of Japan’s prime minister.

Former President Donald Trump’s efforts to sideline one of his criminal cases was dealt a blow today, as a three-judge panel rejected his claims of immunity from prosecution over his efforts to remain in power after the 2020 presidential election.
“For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump, with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant. But any executive immunity that may have protected him while he served as President no longer protects him against this prosecution,” the three D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals judges wrote in their unanimous decision.
Trump’s attorneys had argued that he could not face four election conspiracy charges because, as president at the time, he had immunity. Their claims put a pause on a trial as the question has worked its way through higher courts.

The joke that makes The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear great is relatively subtle. In fact, as a child, watching this movie over and over again, it went over my head. Only recently, after releasing the episode of Revisited dedicated to the original Naked Gun and discussing the sequels with a friend, did he clue me in on why the sequel is so funny. The whole point of the movie is that the bad guys, a conglomerate of nuclear, coal and oil industry baddies, want to prevent Richard Griffith’s Dr Meinheimer from presenting a speech to the president urging a change to the country’s oil policy. Meinheimer is kidnapped and replaced by a double to stop this speech from happening. Our hero, Leslie Nielsen’s Frank Drebin, has to save Meinheimer so he can present his speech, which he eventually does. But, the best...

Welcome to ElectionLine’s A View From Abroad series, in which we speak to media figures who don’t live in America, but keep a close eye on its politics. Every couple of weeks, these smart observers will provide a unique perspective on what promises to be a fraught and unpredictable campaign for the White House. This week, our interview is with Justin Webb, a BBC journalist who spent the best part of a decade reporting on North America. He is now one of the BBC’s top presenters and hosts the UK broadcaster’s Americast podcast.
Justin Webb is an old hand at covering U.S. elections, but he admits that the nature of the 2024 campaign feels alien. On his Americast podcast last week, the BBC presenter repeatedly returned to the idea of it being a “strange” presidential race. Broadcasting from Iowa, you could almost hear him craning his...

Former President Donald Trump has claimed that he recently passed a cognitive test that was designed to test for intelligence.
“I don’t know if you saw, but a few months ago, I took a cognitive test my doctor gave me,” Trump told his supporters during a rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, on January 20. “I said, ‘give me a cognitive test,’ just so we can – you know – because – you know what the standards were. And I aced it.”

John Sauer, Donald Trump‘s lead lawyer in his federal election fraud case, declared that presidential immunity would allow a U.S. president to order Seal Team Six to assassinate a political rival without having to face criminal prosecution.
Sauer made the wild claim for executive immunity at a hearing at a federal appeals court on January 9.
When delivering his statement, he said that only if a president has been impeached and Congress has removed him from office, only then could they be criminally prosecuted.
According to Sauer, this means that Trump is immune from criminal prosecution.
“Could a president who ordered Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival, and is not impeached, would he be subject to criminal prosecution?” one judge asked Sauer.
“If he were impeached and convicted first… there is a political process that would have to occur,” Sauer replied.

“The Beekeeper” is the best kind of bad movie — which is to say, it’s the sort that puts entertainment ahead of pretentiousness, embracing the laughter sure to accompany such an unapologetically stupid, ultra-violent premise. Starring Jason Statham in what feels like a parody of Jason Statham movies, this conspiracy-fueled action showcase tortures its central metaphor until it can only be seen as a joke, featuring the “Transporter” star as ruthless, retired government assassin-turned-benevolent beekeeper Adam Clay, who’s pushed back into berserker mode after a phishing attack targets the kindly old woman from whom he rents a barn.
If you don’t get a hearty belly laugh out of watching Statham scowl his way through the opening montage, in which Clay is shown collecting honey and tending his hives on a bucolic country estate while landlady Eloise (Phylicia Rashad) falls for a blatantly fishy online scam, then “The Beekeeper” is probably not for you.

Green Day songs are some of the most essential classic rock tunes of the 1990s and 2000s. However, the band drew significant influence from The Who, one of the most iconic bands of the 1960s and 1970s. Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong revealed The Who’s “Pinball Wizard” was the inspiration for one of Green Day’s singles. He feels he made some major missteps on that song’s parent album.
How The Who’s ‘Pinball Wizard’ inspired Green Day’s ‘Minority’
During a 2020 interview with Rolling Stone, Armstrong revealed the origin of Green Day’s “Minority.” After ‘Time of Your Life,’ I started getting into playing more acoustic guitar, and I really wanted to have more for [the album] Warning,” he said. “And there was also a lot of kind of bad pop-punk that was starting to happen, and I wanted to go against that genre.

Donald Trump claimed that he was merely doing his “duty” as president by alleging that the 2020 election was “rigged” and “stolen,” therefore believes he deserves “immunity” from prosecution.
“I wasn’t campaigning, the Election was over. I was doing my duty as President to expose and further investigate a Rigged and Stolen Election. It was my obligation to do so, and the proof found is voluminous and irrefutable,” the former president wrote in a Truth Social post Sunday morning. “Therefore, among other reasons, of course I am entitled to Immunity.

The Commission on Presidential Debates has scheduled three presidential debates next fall with a slightly earlier timeline.
The three debates are now scheduled for Sept. 16 at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX; Oct. 1 at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va; and Oct. 9 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
A vice presidential debate has been scheduled on Sept. 25 at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.
The debates will start at 9 p.m. Et and will run for 90 minutes.
What is unclear is participation.
The commission has been in a battle with the Republican National Committee over the debate schedule and format. Last year, the RNC withdrew from the commission, which has organized the general election debates since 1987. The RNC complained that the commission was “biased” and asked for a series of changes. Still, candidates decide themselves whether to participate, and there is nothing that prevents some alternative effort to organize a debate.

Comedian Dana Carvey is taking a break from both work and social media in the wake of his son’s death. Dex Carvey died from an accidental overdose on Thursday. Carvey announced the news on Instagram, where he wrote the break is the result of “trying to figure out what life looks like now that we are a family of 3.”
He wrote, “This is just to say thank you. My wife and I have been overwhelmed by your love, your personal stories, your compassion.”
“We received so many beautiful messages from people who knew Dex. These touched us more than we could ever express in words. I will be taking a break from work and social media — trying to figure out what life looks like now that we are a family of 3.”
Carvey’s statement concluded, “We will heal the best we can and carry on. Our darling Dex would have wanted it that way.

On Saturday, former President Donald Trump once again confused President Joe Biden with former President Barack Obama, at least the seventh occurrence of such a mix-up in recent months.
These repeated gaffes by Trump, 77, have made him a target of criticism. It’s a line of attack more commonly used against Biden, 80.
In a speech in New Hampshire on Saturday, Trump shared an anecdote about an interview with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, where he mistakenly stated that Orban had been asked, “What would you advise President Obama? The whole world seems to be exploding.”
Trump’s confusion between Obama and Biden has occurred numerous times in the last two months.
At a rally in Ottumwa, Iowa, on October 1, he referenced Obama when he meant Biden.
During a Fox News Radio interview on October 11, Trump made the same error twice.

“The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth” will conclude with its eighth season, Showtime announced on Tuesday. The series finale episode is scheduled to arrive on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. Et/Pt.
Hosted by John Heilemann, Mark McKinnon, and Jennifer Palmieri, the four-time Emmy nominated political docuseries offered viewers a deeper look at the nation’s biggest political stories inside the beltway from Donald Trump’s unexpected presidential victory and his contentious time in office, to the polarizing politics of the pandemic, the 2020 election and ensuing insurrection on Capitol Hill, as well as Biden’s presidency at a time of international turmoil.
“When we started ‘The Circus’ in 2016, we thought it would be a one-and-done deal. Eight seasons and 130 episodes later, we’re still agog that Showtime gave us the trust and support that kept us cranking on this long, strange trip — and let us prove that our idea of doing a weekly,...

The great irony of Halloween is that in subjecting ourselves to scares of the kitschy seasonal-grocery-aisle variety, we somehow inoculate ourselves, for a moment, the Irl horrors that so consistently plague us each day online in the news each day. But horror movies and other October-end entertainments aren’t necessarily always simply a distraction. Just as often they’re an honest expression of universal human anxieties, dressed up in a foul-smelling rubber mask from the ad-hoc aisles of your local Spirit Halloween retail outlet.

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-mn), who represents a suburban Minneapolis congressional district, launched a challenge to President Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination.
His announcement has been expected for weeks, as Phillips, 54, warns that Biden’s age and low approval mean that he very likely may lose to Donald Trump next year. Trump has a wide lead against the GOP field.
In an interview with CBS News’ Robert Costa on CBS Mornings, Phillips said that he thinks Biden has “done a spectacular job for our country, but it is not about the past. This is an election about the future.”
“I will not sit still, I will not be quiet in the face of numbers that are so clearly saying that we going to be facing an emergency next November,” he said.
In the interview and in his campaign video, Phillips said that now was the time to “pass the torch” to a new generation.

Dean Phillips — liquor heir, gelato prince, step-grandson of the advice columnist Dear Abby, and Democratic congressman from Minnesota — is challenging Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination for president. Phillips filed his paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday night.
Phillips will officially announce in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Friday, which is the deadline to appear on the primary ballot in the state. To call his candidacy a longshot is an understatement, but Phillips has a good shot of winning the Democratic primary in New Hampshire — because Biden will not appear on the ballot.

In July 2021, it was announced that Universal Pictures had spent $400 million to acquire rights to The Exorcist. Planning a trilogy, with two sequels that would be exclusive to the studio’s streamer Peacock, they collaborated with horror outfit Blumhouse in a deal that essentially seemed rush to match Netflix’s then-groundbreaking pact to produce two Knives Out sequels. Well, in the two years since—where Wall Street has realized the long-game business plan of streaming was actually, to quote George Herbert Walker Bush, “voodoo economics”—the first entry of this (hopefully not-realized) horror trilogy lands in theaters with a not-insignificant amount of pressure to recoup the investment.

During a campaign stop in South Carolina on Monday, Donald Trump confused former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush with either his brother, former President George W. Bush, or father, former President George H.W. Bush.
While recalling his victory over Jeb Bush for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, Trump mixed up the prominent members of the Bush family.
“When I came here, everyone thought Bush was going to win,” Trump said on Monday. “They thought Bush because Bush supposedly was a military person. Great. You know what he was a mili— he got us into the, uh, he got us into the Middle East. How did that work out, right?”

Conan O’Brien appeared Kara Swisher’s New York Magazine podcast (via Insider) and criticized Donald Trump for hurting comedy. The former late night host joked, “I’m really going on a limb here saying: That’s his greatest crime, that I think he’s hurt political comedy by being so outlandish himself. I think the January 6 thing is a blip compared to how much he’s hurt comedy.”
Jokes aside, O’Brien noted that “when Trump came along, what a lot of people have to revert to is: ‘Doesn’t he suck? I hate that guy. He’s an asshole.’ And those aren’t jokes.”
O’Brien compared trying to make jokes about Trump to trying to parody The National Enquirer.

Presidential historian Jon Meacham chose his words very purposefully on “Morning Joe” the morning after Donald Trump’s fourth indictment, saying what Trump attempted – and is being indicted for – was plainly a coup d’etat.
“You have this whole cast of characters who’ve been indicted now in Fulton County who were attempting – and I use this word very, very advisably, I’m not just popping off here – this was a coup d’etat. This was an attempt to seize power that was not legitimately granted by the electoral processes of the Constitution of the United States. Full stop. That’s what it was.”
On Monday night, Trump and 18 others were indicted in Georgia for a number of charges ranging from racketeering to forgery to soliciting public law officers to violate their oaths. The defendants “knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump,...

Standing on the ledge of a broken window next to a Beverly Hills esthetician with mascara running from the tear gas, a bearded man with wild blue eyes made an appeal to the crowd surrounding the U.S. Capitol. “Last chance, who wants to make history with me? Who’s a man? Who’s a patriot? I’m going into Capitol Hill by myself — who wants to man the fuck up? Patriots, let’s do this right fucking now!” he shouted into a megaphone.
Returning the bullhorn to the esthetician, he entered the Capitol through the broken window. Inside, in an upturned conference room, he led a group of rioters out of the room and into an adjoining hallway, where he kicked the door of another conference room several times to help open it. He and several others rifled through papers and ransacked the room, before leaving the Capitol with a souvenir gas mask.

Christian Bale was initially tapped to portray George Bush for many reasons, including the actor’s star-power. But he was replaced by Josh Brolin after dropping out of the project, although the film’s director was reluctant to bring Brolin on board.

Donald Trump’s team was aware that, if he refused to leave office after the 2020 election, it could spark a mass wave of civil unrest. But the man Trump sought to appoint as attorney general had an easy answer for that, according to the new indictment of the former president: invoke the Insurrection Act.
The indictment lists six as-of-yet unindicted co-conspirators. Co-Conspirator 4 is described as “a Justice Department official who…attempted to use the Justice Department to open sham election crime investigations and influence state legislatures with knowingly false claims of election fraud.

All week long, a culture war has been raging around country star Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town,” a turgid power ballad wrapped around an unsubtle warning to protesters and other outsiders: “Try that in a small town, see how far you make it down the road.” To many observers, that sounds uncomfortably close to the kind of threat that the Klan used to issue to civil rights activists, and that modern-day racists continue to spout today. With a running time of 96 minutes, Frank Marshall’s Rather, a documentary about the life and times of Dan Rather, is premiering at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival opposite Luke Korem’s Milli Vanilli, a 106-minute documentary about the life and times of Milli Vanilli. I know that both documentaries exist in their own vacuums and the comparison is apples to rutabagas, but I’m still confident in saying this: A definitive documentary about Dan Rather is going to require more time to properly tell its story than a definitive documentary about Milli Vanilli.
In its home stretch, Rather mentions that for a young generation weaned on social media, Dan Rather is an amusingly cantankerous Twitter truth-teller, but those new fans have very little awareness that he was once a revered (and briefly disgraced) journalist and broadcast nightly news anchor. With 750 episodes of The Simpsons aired – and who knows how many more in the pipeline – the iconic show has seen its share of controversies: people having a cow over Bart’s bad boy persona, then-president George H.W. But one of the biggest controversies arose over Indian Kwik-e-Mart proprietor Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, voiced by white actor Hank Azaria.

Pat Robertson, a religious broadcaster who turned a tiny Virginia station into the global Christian Broadcasting Network, tried a run for president and helped make religion central to Republican Party politics in America through his Christian Coalition, has died. He was 93.
Robertson’s death Thursday was confirmed in an email by his broadcasting network. No cause was given.
Robertson’s enterprises also included Regent University, an evangelical Christian school in Virginia Beach; the American Center for Law and Justice, which defends the First Amendment rights of religious people; and Operation Blessing, an international humanitarian organization.
For more than a half-century, Robertson was a familiar presence in American living rooms, known for his “700 Club” television show, and in later years, his televised pronouncements of God’s judgment, blaming natural disasters on everything from homosexuality to the teaching of evolution.

Christian evangelist Pat Robertson, who ran the Christian Broadcasting Network and sought the GOP presidential nomination, died Thursday at the age of 93.
His death was confirmed on his network, in a statement from his son, Gordon Robertson, who is also the network’s CEO and president. A memorial service will be held “in the coming days,” he said.
Robertson came to notoriety as the host of The 700 Club, a television channel which filtered guests, news and music through a Christian lens, but which also caused outcry over incendiary statements about 9/11, homosexuality, AIDs and more. That channel later became the tentpole of Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network, which he started as a small station in Virginia and grew into a money-making venture, thanks to contributions from viewers, and a powerful national network with great political influence.

He was a vocal proponent of shameful anti-lgbt policies and actions, some of which are once again roiling the nation as the 2024 presidential election approaches.
To the general public, Robertson was best known as the host of “The 700 Club,” a daily news and faith show which he hosted for over 50 years before retiring in 2021. “The 700 Club” currently airs on Freeform, a...
