Back in the ’90s, way before Parks & Recreation, Step Brothers, and Severance, Adam Scott had a role on the hit ABC sitcom, Boy Meets World. The series centered around the trials and tribulations of Corey Matthews (Ben Savage) and his friends and family.
For seven seasons, the show focused on Matthews growing up, along with friends Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel). Rounding out the cast were Will Friedle as Corey’s brother Eric, and William Daniels as neighbor and teacher George Feeny.

The first thing you think of when discussing Boy Meets World isn’t sex, even if you did have a poster of Topanga on your wall. But Rider Strong, who played Shawn Hunter on Boy Meets World, has opened up about how the showrunners botched handling the matter in a professional way.
On a recent episode of the rewatch podcast “Pod Meets World”–which Strong co-hosts with Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence) and Will Friedle (Eric Matthews)–Rider Strong put Boy Meets World writers and producers on blast for not promoting a healthy approach to sex. “I remember being very upset during that entire week…I was very upset with the adults on our set — the way that they were approaching this, specifically because we were not discussing safe sex.”

On a recent episode of the podcast Pod Meets World–in which former Boy Meets World stars Rider Strong, Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle rewatch episodes of the beloved series–Trina McGee went into details surrounding her lack of involvement and Angela’s absence.
“I was told, in kind of a weird off-handed way by a very important person, that you guys all went to [showrunner] Michael Jacobs, and you said ‘We don’t want her in the last episode. She’s somehow taking our light.’ That was the gist of it.”
Friedle, who played dopey older brother Eric Matthews for the show’s run, denied Trina McGee’s history, to which McGee responded, “I believe you. I can tell by [the hosts’] reactions.

Boy Meets World was a beloved pillar of ABC’s Tgif lineup, lasting seven seasons and more than 150 episodes. The sitcom centered on Ben Savage’s Cory Matthews growing up alongside his family, friends, and teachers (who became friends and family—Feeny!). It’s lived on thanks to DVDs, syndication, and streaming, not to mention the spinoff Girl Meets World. Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence), Will Friedle (Eric Matthews), and Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter) continue to feel that love and lasting impact. It’s why they launched their podcast, Pod Meets World, on iHeartRadio. Each week, the stars not only rewatch the show through today’s lens but share stories and visit with familiar faces. We caught up with the trio to chat about what it has been like taking that nostalgic trip down memory lane. Do you find doing the podcast has been therapeutic for you? It really evolved into more than rewatching a show?...

Hollywood is a world of remakes at the moment. Audiences are eager to feel the nostalgia they did watching movies of yore. Now it seems that his trend of reboots has extended into the world of horror films, as Eli Roth.s 2002 thriller Cabin Fever is getting a reboot as well. So, this looks like literally the exact same movie. All of it. Every plot point. I suppose die hard fans of the original might be excited, but it does seem strange that the new one looks essentially identical to the 2002 version. Although it is thoroughly lacking in Shawn Hunter from Boy Meets World. The plot of both films is as follows: a group of college students rent a cabin in the...

Television is filled with enviable on-screen besties that fit together like two peas in a pod: Turk and J.D.. Tom Haverford and Donna Meagle. Cory Matthews and Shawn Hunter. However, there are some TV friendships that, though adorable, just don?t make sense. Friendships that, on paper, don?t look like they would work out at all. Let?s take a look at a few unlikely pairings we've grown to love.

Matthew Lawrence can still get it. The former star of '90s series "Boy Meets World" and "Brotherly Love" proved he's still one sexy beast on Labor Day weekend, as he was seen walking around Los Angeles with his equally-cute dog on Monday. The shirtless star, now 35, flaunted his fit physique and washboard abs during an outing with his pooch. The actor reprised his role as Shawn Hunter's brother, Jack Hunter, on "Girl Meets World" just last month. While his character finished "Boy Meets World" by joining the Peace Corps with girlfriend Rachel (Maitland Ward), it was revealed the two didn't make it in the long run when he returned to the Disney spin-off. Matthew also recently reunited with his real life bother, Joey Lawrence, on the small screen, appearing on a handful of episode of his ABC Family series "Melissa & Joey." Joey keeps fans updated on the entire...

We wondered, we waited, and Boy Meets World fans everywhere finally got answers to some very difficult questions. After 15 years, two Boy Meets World characters reprised their roles on Girl Meets World to help Shawn Hunter take a step forward in his life. Longtime fans will remember that Shawn Hunter’s life has pretty much been one sucker punch after another. Abandoned by his parents and the woman he loved, Shawn hasn’t let anyone into his heart in a decade and a half. On the mother show’s sequel, Shawn finally has the chance to get everything he’s ever wanted, a real family; but life doesn’t just hand you everything that easily. Like its predecessor, Girl Meets World recognizes that sometimes life throws you a curveball you couldn’t have predicted. Shawn’s budding fatherly relationship with Maya has been blossoming beautifully, pardon the mix of my metaphors.

Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter) and Trina McGee (Angela Moore) will both guest-star on an upcoming episode of Girl Meets World, creator Michael Jacobs revealed at the Atx Television Festival in Austin, Texas on Friday – but it doesn't sound like their characters are getting their own happy ending like Ben Savage's Cory Matthews and Danielle Fishel's Topanga Lawrence.
