A big online drug auction, the first of that scale in Asia, is about to take place on the Dark Web Market and the Hong Kong Cyber Investigation Unit and its Senior Superintendant Eddie Fong Hing (Eddie Peng) are ready to fight against a man known as “boss” whose identity no one is completely certain about. It is believed that the drug baron is Chan Chin Sang (Philip Keung) who is on his way to Hong Kong, and Fong Hing wants to take the opportunity to seize both him and a large drug cargo that is supposed to arrive the same night. Five day before the announced big event, the department is in problem due to Chan's army of hackers and corrupted public servants working as his informants. "The cops may be able to trace us." "So what." Well Go USA has debuted another new official trailer for a Hong Kong action thriller film called I Did It May Way. That title seems to be an obvious reference to Frank Sinatra's classic song "My Way", though it isn't heard in the trailer or mentioned anywhere else, but it seems to connect with the bad guy's plot anyway. The film revolves around an undercover officer who goes up against the high-tech drug underworld of Hong Kong. Ho Sau, an undercover agent, has been working with Yau, a drug lord, for years, but his job and family are in trouble. The intense action thriller stars Andy Lau, Gordon Lam, Cya Liu, Eddie Peng, Kent Cheng, Philip Keung, with a special guest appearance by Simon Yam. This is an extraordinary violent trailer for what looks like an insanely violent Hk film - my goodness.

"Where did the money come from?" Another official trailer has arrived for the Hong Kong film called The Goldfinger, which is exactly what is listed (in English) in the title card of this trailer. The film is also going under the title Once Upon a Time in Hong-Kong, written and directed by the filmmaker Felix Chong. Set in the 1980s, the film is based on the story of Carrian Group, a Hong Kong corporation which rose rapidly before collapsing shortly afterwards due to a corruption scandal. Acclaimed actors Tony Leung & Andy Lau reunite after the seminal Infernal Affairs years ago. When a stock market crash causes the sudden collapse of a multi-billion-dollar company, an Icac investigator (Lau) uncovers a criminal conspiracy involving the company’s founder (Leung) and becomes entangled in a long-running investigation. The film's cast also includes Simon Yam, Charlene Choi, Tai-Bo, Alex Fong, Philip Keung, Kar Lok Chin,...

It’s been a long wait for The Goldfinger, which reunites Infernal Affairs stars Tony Leung and Andy Lau with writer-director Felix Chong: production began in February of 2021, our first look arrived spring 2022, and for some time it was all quiet on the eastern front. But a trailer this summer confirmed it’ll hit Hong Kong on December 30, and with only a month to go there’s a new, English-subbed preview that suggests the film will, at least for extravagance, have been worth the wait.
The thriller also stars Simon Yam, Philip Keung, Alex Fong Chung-sun, Charlene Choi, Chin Ka-lok, and Carlos Chan, and is inspired by the story of the Hong Kong conglomerate Carrian Group, which was embroiled in a scandal.
Set in the 1980s, the film depicts cut-throat machinations between Hong Kong’s jostling business elites amidst the backdrop of the tail end of British colonial rule.

Tony Leung and Andy Lau reunite in The Goldfinger, after many years apart. Here’s the trailer for the film, that arrives in the UK in December.
2002’s Infernal Affairs is one of the most iconic Hong Kong films of the early 2000s. The story of a cop who infiltrates the Triads and another officer who is secretly a spy for the same group was so popular that Martin Scorsese remade it in 2006 as The Departed. It also was followed by a couple of sequels, none of which were remade by Martin Scorsese.
Stars Tony Leung, Andy Lau and writer Felix Chong have reunited over 20 years later to make The Goldfinger, that Cine Asia has picked up for distribution in the UK.
The synopsis for The Goldfingerreads as follows:

More than two years since the news that Tony Leung and Andy Lau would finally reunite from Infernal Affairs, with that saga’s writer Felix Chong on scripting and directing duties––and nearly 18 months since a first preview––The Goldfinger is finally prepping a December 30 release in Hong Kong. The prolific filmmaker Wong Jing directed and starred in “I Corrupt All Cops” (2009), a film about the establishment of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (Icac) by the Governor of Hong Kong to fight against corruption in the early 70s. Interestingly, the film's English initials clearly spelled out as Icac whereas its Chinese title means “Money Empire”. Twelfth years later, Wong, the master of remakes, was back with yet another spin on Icac this time with the help of four Hong Kong's finest actors. A sequel by name only with an interesting Chinese title, “Money Empire: Chasing Tiger, Capturing Dragon”.

Warriors of Future is a sci-fi action movie directed by Yuen Fai Ng, starring Louis Koo, Carina Lau, Lau Ching-Wan and Nick Cheung.
‘The Transformers’ fans, this movie is for you.
Premise Warriors of Future (2022)
The year is 2055, when a meteor carrying a destructive plant strikes the world, a suicide squad is given hours to save their post-apocalyptic city from total collapse. There is a catch-22 though, the military has been relying on robots.
Warriors of Future (2022) Movie Review
A rather entertaining movie, with acceptable special effects, and a script that does not lack humor.
Its director, Yuen Fai Ng, with his creative background in the special effects world, knows how to make good use of his know-how.
Do not expect profundity in the characterizations, as this is pure action. The acting and the script are not particularly convincing, but it is nevertheless an amusing number.

"This is an unprecedented operation." Whoa!! There's a Hong Kong sci-fi action movie called Warriors of Future that has finally opened in theaters in China and Hong Kong this summer. It was being prepped for release in 2019, with an early trailer dropping years ago. But after all the pandemic delays and lockdowns, it's only being released now. Set in the year 2055, a meteorite brings an extraterrestrial to the Earth in the form of an alien vine that "purifies the planet but kills everything in its path." (Is this anti-climate change propaganda?) When powerful alien creatures threaten humanity, Cmmdr. Sing Lee's elite forces are almost wiped out, and the surviving soldier Tai Loi discovers an even bigger conspiracy. Starring Louis Koo, Sean Lau, Carina Lau, Philip Keung, Tse Kwan-ho, and Nick Cheung. This looks Extra epic, from a VFX supervisor making his directorial debut. It's even being marketed as the...

The film begins immediately in full swing, with a violent brawl in which Chat (Chapman To), the head of the Metal gang, is arrested and locked up in Stanley prison, just as his beautiful wife discovers she is expecting a baby; an event that for wrong timing fails to divert the course of fate. In fact Chat, with a 5-year sentence, is going to miss the birth and early years of his son and has no other options than to leave his trusty lieutenant Luke (Philip Keung) in charge of the boys of the gang, and also to take care of his wife and child.

Within the filmography of perhaps Hong Kong’s most prolific directors, Johnnie To, the year 2011 proved once again his ability to switch between genres and tones effortlessly. The romantic comedy “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart”, co-directed by Wai Ka-Fai, was followed by “Punished”, a crime thriller in a similar vein like the ones To had directed just a few years prior, and finally, “Life Without Principle”, a crime drama which would take a closer look at the effects of economic destabilization. In an interview with the French press, To states he perceives the people working in finance, most specifically those higher up in the food chain, as even worse than the infamous Chinese triads, abusing their power and exploiting, with no one in sight to end their doings. Even though it was something of a diversion from his other works, “Life Without Principle” would win big at the Asia-Pacific Film Festival,...

About a year ago we got the news that Tony Leung and Andy Lau would finally be reuniting after their trio of Infernal Affairs films. Coming from Infernal Affairs writer Felix Chong, who scripts and directs, the film was announced with the title Goldfinger (though no relation to Bond), but now some are referring to it as Once Upon a Time in Hong-Kong. Whatever it may end up being called, the first look has arrived above courtesy of Kevin Ma.
With it being 18 years since their last collaboration, the film carries much anticipation and hopefully we’ll get news about its release soon. Audiences will be rooting for a working-class family to get away with manslaughter in “Sheep Without a Shepherd,” a gripping Chinese crime thriller set in small-town Thailand. Centered on an ordinary guy whose extraordinary film knowledge holds the key to keeping his family out of jail, this cleverly scripted item marks an auspicious feature debut for Malaysia-born, Taipei-based director Sam Quah. After grossing a stellar $191 million domestically in late 2019 and mid-2020 rerelease, “Sheep” ought to attract plenty of viewers in limited U.S. cinemas from July 30 and on streaming from Aug. 6.

In 2002, Andy Lau and Tony Leung reunited for action crime feature Infernal Affairs, an instant hit which not only spawned two back-to-back sequels the following year, but also sparked the interest of Martin Scorsese, who remade it for his Best Picture-winning The Departed. Now, the Hong Kong legends are reuniting once again, 18 years after the third Infernal Affairs film, for a new thriller set in the 1980s.
They will both star in Goldfinger, which has no relation to 007 nor ska, but does come from Infernal Affairs writer Felix Chong, who scripts and directs. Variety reports the $30.8 million project will also star Simon Yam, Philip Keung, Alex Fong Chung-sun, Charlene Choi, Chin Ka-lok, and Carlos Chan. Tony Leung Chiu-Wai and Andy Lau will team up in a new major action movie titled “Goldfinger,” local reports said Friday.
The two beloved Hong Kong-born A-listers haven’t worked together since the end of the “Infernal Affairs” trilogy 18 years ago.
The reunion will be written and directed by Felix Chong, the screenwriter for that series. It is backed by Emperor Motion Pictures and mainland Chinese partners, with a reported budget of around $30.8 million (RMB200 million).
Chong found success in mainland China in 2018 with his counterfeiting thriller “Project Gutenberg,” which he wrote and directed. Starring Chow Yun-Fat, Aaron Kwok and Zhang Jingchu, it grossed $183 million in China and $4.3 million in Hong Kong, going on to win best film, best script, best director and four other prizes from 17 nominations at the 2019 Hong Kong Film Awards.

Screenwriter for the likes of Stephen Chow (“Shaolin Soccer” and “The Mermaid”), Chih-chiang has since then been exploring, in the director’s chair, very diverse genres, including a musical and a contemporary western. His fourth feature as director/writer, dwells upon the mix of crime, police procedural, noir and a touch of psychology, reminiscent of past Hong Kong Cinema traditions. “A Witness Out of The Blue” puts together a convoluted script and a stellar cast helmed by ubiquitous Louis Koo to achieve mixed results.

Immediately and before the rolling titles, we are catapulted on a murder scene; a junkie is found dead in a filthy basement by a passer-by before being knocked out by a mysterious man running away, probably the murderer. The only living soul present at the murder is a beautiful blood-red parrot that blurts out seemingly random words.

There's an addictive retro feel to this pacy Hong Kong crime thriller from Fung Chi-Keung that sees a hapless cop unexpectedly working in tandem with a jewel thief - even if some may be disappointed that the hotly touted parrot witness of the film's title only flies in for a cameo moment here and there.
What better way to show that officer Larry Lam (Louis Cheung) is both sweet and bungling than by having him in hock to a low-rent criminal over a cat shelter he's set up within the first few minutes before landing him, face first, in the murder victim at a crime scene? It's there he also meets the parrot - screeching, "Help, help" - which he comes to believe can help him identify the killer.
Fung knows how to get an audience hooked, setting up all this quirkiness - complete with Larry's stickler boss Yip (Philip Keung) and.

The Lgbtq+ voices get louder in Asian cinemas too. Generally, outside specific genres like sex comedies or erotic pictures, sex is rarely approached as a serious issue, unless you really look for it. Here are 5 films of 2019 that have broken the taboo and even taboo within the taboo and have discussed sex, sexual identity or orientation openly. Of course, we still swim in the not-exactly-mainstream waters, but the below listed five films hit several jackpots with bravado. And they are fabulous alternatives for the Valentine Days flick. Well, except for “Kalel, 15”, perhaps. But with the person queer in a fitting way…

‘Firestorm‘ is a story about law and justice. Or, maybe, about justice or law. While justice is almost nothing more than a moral sense, law must be somehow “material”, predictable, replicable… so it need rules. Whatever has rules is a game, and there isn’t any more efficient way to win a game than to break the rules, if you can get away with it. If the game is “cops and robbers”, the latter have an obvious advantage, because they aren’t even supposed to follow any rules. That’s until, maybe, some fed up cop decides to play the law game no more and finally get some justice. No, ‘Firestorm’ isn’t a Bronson’s movie remake (though it’s high time for some to come, don’t you think?...
