Cobra Kai season 6: Netflix announces premiere dates for 15 episode, 3 part conclusion to the series
Production on the sixth and final season of the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai, a continuation of the Karate Kid film franchise, was delayed several months due to the writers and actors strikes last year – but the extended wait is going to be worth it, because Netflix has just announced that the show is wrapping up with a 15 episode season (previous seasons consisted of 10 episodes), and they’re splitting the episodes up to make it a three part event! As they put it, “The end of a legacy… deserves a Grand Finale.” They’ve also revealed premiere dates: Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 premieres July 18, 2024. Part 2 premieres November 28, 2024. The Finale Event comes in 2025.
I’m hyped to finally have premiere dates for most of the episodes, because this show has become one of my all-time favorites over the course of the previous five seasons. I grew up on the Karate Kid movies and always enjoyed them,...

The number of actors the Netflix TV series Cobra Kai has brought back to reprise their characters from the Karate Kid films has been very impressive. Not only do you have Ralph Macchio and William Zabka back as Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence, but there’s also Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith as villains John Kreese and Terry Silver, Yuji Okumoto and Sean Kanan as villains-turned-allies Chozen Toguchi and Mike Barnes; Ron Thomas, Rob Garrison, and Tony O’Dell as Johnny’s former Cobra Kai buddies; and appearances by Elisabeth Shue as Ali Mills, Tamlyn Tomita as Kumiko, and Robyn Lively as Jessica Andrews. They even brought Traci Toguchi back as Yuna, the “Girl Bell Ringer” she played in The Karate Kid Part II. But one actor who might not be returning from the films is Hilary Swank, who played Julie Pierce in the 1994 film The Next Karate Kid.

Rumor has it that Netflix was originally planning to release the sixth and final season of their hit series Cobra Kai, a continuation of the Karate Kid film franchise, this month. The cast and crew were heading into production back in May (Netflix even released some table read footage) – but then the writers strike hit, causing filming to shut down. Then came the actors strike, which made sure it stayed shut down a while longer. But both of those strikes are now over, and cast member Courtney Henggeler has revealed that Cobra Kai season 6 is finally going to start filming / resume production next month!
The folks at Screen Rant took the opportunity to ask Henggeler about Cobra Kai when they crossed paths with her at a red carpet event. When they asked for info on what fans can expect from the new season, Henggeler answered, “I wish I knew. I...

When the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai Crane kicks its way onto Netflix, it could leave some questions unanswered in the interest of continuing the story in possible spin-offs. Speaking with Collider‘s Perri Nemiroff, Cobra Kai showrunners Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald said “closure” isn’t part of their grand plan for the Miyagi-verse. This statement is bold in an entertainment landscape where fans typically like things wrapped up with a big, red bow. However, some stories can’t end in a universe with limitless potential.
Hinting at Cobra Kai spin-offs, Hurwitz, Schlossberg, and Heald told Nemiroff, “We will never give actual closure when it comes to anything. We love working in the ‘Cobra Kai’ universe, so there’s always potential to revisit that world. We’re certainly thinking about other ideas within the Miyagi-verse, and it’s only a matter of time before...

"Dexter" is a show with a history almost as tumultuous as that of its titular antihero. The gory crime drama follows Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a blood spatter analyst by day and vigilante serial killer by night. Season 1 of the Showtime drama debuted in 2006 to positive reviews and reigned as the premium channel's highest-rated series for the next four years. Seasons 2 and 4 are widely regarded as the show's best, with the latter boasting a fantastic performance by John Lithgow as the Trinity Killer, one of TV's most terrifying villains. After the departure of showrunner Clyde Phillips, "Dexter" began a downward slide that ran all the way up to its disappointing series finale, frequently remembered as one of the worst of all time. Eight years after Dexter drove his boat into the eye of a hurricane, the serial killer with a heart of gold returned in "Dexter: New Blood," a...

Last Friday, Netflix released a fun vampire slayer action flick called Day Shift (you can read our 7/10 review Here)… and if you watched the movie, you may have noticed that it had a goofy end credits song called “Mowing Down Vamps”, which built a tune around a line spoken by the character played by Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist). The song around Franco’s line was performed by The Bsb Boys (J Young Mdk and Sam Pounds) alongside the film’s star Jamie Foxx (Spider-Man: No Way Home) – and now Foxx has released a video for the song.
The music video, directed by Taylor Chien, features Foxx, Franco, some vampire fights, and a good dose of silliness. You can check it out at the bottom of this article.

Vincent Ngo, top screenwriter and Hollywood script doctor, has set up comedy series “Early Risers” in his native Vietnam. Talent behemoth, Creative Artists Agency (CAA) represents the production company Early Risers Media Group and is handling licensing of the series’ distribution rights.
The show, about the lives of American and European expats living and working in Saigon, is set to begin filming under the direction of Zach Merck at the end of this month.
After a prolonged period of Covid restrictions, “Early Risers” is believed to be the first international television production in Vietnam in over two years. Local production is being run by Ace 1 Pictures.

This Dexter: New Blood review contains spoilers.
Not many shows get a second chance at a finale. But then again, not many shows’ first finales are as bad as Dexter’s was.
After the original Dexter series finale back in 2013 was received, let’s say, less than warmly, Showtime decided to try it again. Following a seven year cool-off period, the network invited original showrunner Clyde Phillips back to envision a new end for Bay Harbor Butcher in the limited series Dexter: New Blood.
Now Dexter: New Blood’s new ending has come and gone and despite mixed fan reaction, it’s hard to argue that it isn’t an improvement…or at least we believe it is. Still, while Dexter: New Blood did an excellent job in wrapping up Dexter’s story once and for all, it left some secondary Dexter characters out in the cold. That’s partly...

The episode marks a departure for “Warrior,” which is set in the 19th century Tong Wars in San Francisco’s Chinatown. Directed by Kevin Tancharoen (“The Flash”) and written by Kenneth Lin (“House of Cards”), the episode’s concept came from showrunner Jonathan Tropper, who wanted to “open up the world” of the series at its midway point.
“When Jonathan and I first spoke … we talked about a lot of Bruce Lee movies, but also just pulp films,” said Tancharoen. “Lots of Tarantino, a little [Robert] Rodriguez here and there.

Two Chinese martial artists walk into a bar…
That may sound like the beginning of a joke, but what results is no laughing matter on Friday’s all-new episode of “Warrior,” the Cinemax series based on a story concept by the late Bruce Lee. Colorfully titled “The Blood and the Shit,” the episode takes a detour from the rest of the season by having Hop Wei members Ah Sahm (Andrew Koji) and Young Jun (Jason Tobin) travel outside of the familiarity of San Francisco’s Chinatown on a stagecoach through the Sierra Nevada. When they’re forced to spend the night with strangers at a frontier saloon in the middle of nowhere, things heat up when a notorious outlaw arrives on the scene.
Directed by Kevin Tancharoen, the episode builds to a violent climax that mixes Old West gunplay and badass kung-fu. The episode also includes guest star C.S. Lee as Lu,...

The rare remake that’s actually a slight improvement on its predecessor, Richard Wong’s “Come as You Are” translates Geoffrey Enthoven’s 2011 Belgian “Hasta la Vista” to middle America. Other changes are less substantial, but this seriocomedy has a less formulaic feel than the original while remaining a crowd-pleasing buddy pic-caper with a soft-pedaled minority empowerment theme. Reception in real-world disabled communities may be somewhat muted by the casting of able-bodied actors in the lead roles. Nonetheless, it’s hard to entirely resist this loosely fact-inspired tale of three physically challenged men road-tripping to Montreal in order to lose their virginity at a “special needs” bordello.
