Standup comedian Bert Kreischer is set to star in and executive produce “Cabin,” a new Netflix improv comedy series based on Martin Petit’s “Les Pecheurs,” TheWrap has learned exclusively.
Additionally, Kreischer has set his second comedy special for the streaming service, “Bert Kreischer: Hey Big Boy.” The standup event, which is directed by Jeff Tomsic and produced by Jax, will launch March 17.
Here is the logline for “Cabin,” per Netflix:
After years on the grind, Bert Kreischer sets out on a purifying retreat to a remote cabin. But Bert only has one speed. Joined by his celebrity friends, Bert attempts bizarre therapy techniques, intense physical challenges, and ridiculously improvised encounters with nature. There are various ways to tackle the X-Men movies. Here are our suggestions...
It happens so often in Sff fandoms. You have a series, it starts out releasing an original story, then some sequels, then... it all goes a bit wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey, whether through the release of prequels, through introducing a time-travel element to the story that confuses the order of the narrative, or other various narrative shenanigans.
The viewing order of the X-Men film series is especially complicated. The series includes prequels, at least two different timelines, and more internal inconsistencies than you can shake an adamantium (or bone) claw at. So, with the prequel era seemingly coming to a close with the Sophie Turner-led Dark Phoenix, we thought we’d suggest a few different options for approaches to an X-Men movie marathon.

When you boil down the story of Kingsman: The Secret Service to one basic story beat, it's a story about the haves versus the have-nots. Nowhere was this clearer than the conflict between Taron Egerton's Eggsy and Edward Holcroft's Charlie – the former Kingsman recruit that was secretly in on big bad Valentine's master plan. Despite the assumption that Charlie was taken out during the literally mind-blowing finale, it appears that Charlie is still in the game – and coming back for round 2. The return of Eggsy's arch-nemesis was reported by Deadline, as Edward Holcroft has been named as a returning cast member for Kingsman 2. Holcroft is the latest name to have appeared linked to the project, as Halle Berry and Julianne Moore have both also been tipped for key roles in the Matthew Vaughan sequel. His return may confuse audience members who thought that ...

Fox have released the first trailer for Dexter Fletcher’s sophomore directorial effort, Eddie The Eagle, based on the true story of a calamitous British ski jumper with dreams of being an Olympic athlete. The film is produced by Matthew Vaughan’s Marv Films, which makes it little surprise that Taron Egerton is in the lead role considering their recent collaboration on Kingsman: The Secret Service. The trailer looks like a fun underdog story, of which there feels to be startlingly few of late. Have a gander:
Whilst the story feels fairly rote, it’s definitely got a boost in the arm from Hugh Jackman’s involvement as cynical coach Bronson Peary (you can see his character arc coming a mile off). It’s always enjoyable seeing Jackman outside of the adamantium, and he was almost purpose-built for a mentor role.

In some scenarios, you can boil down a whole Hollywood deal to one big game of chicken. For example, take the case of 20th Century Fox and Lionsgate, as they have two projects that require the attention of Kingsman: The Secret Service star Taron Egerton. Both were films were set to film in a window so narrow that one had to win over the other, and it looks like you can score another one for the Kingsman, folks. The Hollywood Reporter broke the good news that the sequel to Matthew Vaughan's wry send up of 70.s era James Bond films has officially secured its leading man's return, and Egerton.s Eggsy will be returning to the world of espionage exactly as planned. Unfortunately for the competition, the production on Robin Hood: Origins had to be pushed back from its February start date. The sequel to Kingsman: The Secret...

Seems as if this Daniel Craig era of James Bond flicks has been about origins and shared histories and secret-secrets tucked nice and deep underneath even more secrets, which for a spy series makes some sense, especially when it seems that it's all about shaking up, not stirring, the psychology/machismo of a figure like Bond. Then why am I totally unengaged with this latest trailer for the Sam Mendes directed Spectre? Maybe it's the oh so self-serious tone that I can rarely take after the perfectly blunt satire Matthew Vaughan and Jane Goldman presented in the So-Bond-It-Hurts Kingsman: The Secret Service. Maybe it's the paint-by-numbers way this trailer plays: Sweeping shot of exotic locale, sleek car, grim speech, desperate measures taken... lather, rinse, repeat. Or maybe it's...

Jason Statham is returning to the genre that first put him on our radar, with a direct sequel to Layer Cake! The movie, adapted from the book Viva La Madness, follows on straight from the events of the 2004 film, and Statham is hoping to get the cameras rolling on it next year. Statham will produce as well as star, and he'll be playing an unnamed drug-dealing hero from the book. Once again Jj Connolly, the author of Layer Cake and Viva La Madness, will be adapting his own work, so expect more of the same dark sense of humour and East London violence. No word on what they intend to do with Daniel Craig's character, although not being familiar with the book, I can't even tell you if he's relevant to the plot. Craig won't be returning, nor will Matthew Vaughan, but I for one am pretty stoked to...

Kingsman: the Secret Service is the fifth directorial effort from director Matthew Vaughan and yet another film that I thoroughly enjoyed. I should mention that I have been a fan of Mark Vaughan’s work since Layer Cake, one of my favorite British gangster movies and Vaughan’s first feature. So I admit I’m a little biased, I loved Kick Ass, I really loved X-Men: First Class, and I was so excited when I heard about this film. Yes, I know I left out Stardust, yes, it’s because I really didn’t like it.
Based on yet another comic by Mark Millar, Kingsman is a breathtaking re-imagination of the whole British spy genre…and then some. Interestingly enough this is not the first Mark Millar project Vaughan has helmed, the first being Kick –Ass 1 (the better one). Vaughan is also credited as “co-plotter” on The Secret Service, the...

The rule of thumb in screenwriting is never to directly reference, even whimsically, a film which you are attempting to tribute or homage, for fear the comparison will leave your film lacking. Kingsman: the Secret Service makes numerous references to Bond and classic-era spy films, and not only holds its own against them, but could inspire a resurgence of the bigger than life style of espionage films
Kingsman: The Secret Service
Directed by Matthew Vaughan
Script by Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughan, from the comic by Mark Millar, Matthew Vaughan and Dave Gibbons
Starring Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Samuel L. Jackson
Mark Millar is doing a damn fine job of creating brilliant little stand-alone comic mini-series that tell a coherent story, and are at the same time far from the standard fare of superhero titles. They are also almost tailor-made for adaptation into films for those very reasons. His high-action...

Alex Garland’s sci-fi drama judges edges Matthew Vaughn’s spy thriller.
Sci-fi drama Ex Machina has taken the lead on social media in the UK after a week on release, just a hair ahead of new release Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Alex Gardand’s tale of artificial intelligence generated 6,659 comments from Jan 22-28 across social media, news, forums and blogs, according to Way To Blue.
Matthew Vaughan’s spy adventure, starring Colin Firth, was just behind with 6,645 comments.
However, while Ex Machina saw 23.5% of comments expressing intent to view, Kingsman managed 26.8%.
Other films opening this week that proved popular included Disney animation Big Hero 6, with close to 3,200 comments, and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice, with more than 1,900 comments.
On its second week of release, Johnny Depp comedy caper Mortdecai drew more than 3,900 comments, just 18.7% of which expressed intent to view.
Of the movies coming soon, Aardman Animations’ Shaun the Sheep Movie drew 2,450 comments, beating...

If you've managed to lift your head out of the awards season hoopla, you might have already heard the buzz brewing for "Kingsman: The Secret Service." There have been a handful of advance screenings popping up, and reaction has been very positive from those who got to see it early. The excitement of general audiences and critics don't always match up, but when it comes to the latest from director Matthew Vaughan and comic book creator Mark Millar, it looks like the duo have another edgy, hit concoction on their hands. The first reviews for 'Kingsman' have landed and they are positive across the board. It's a bit surprising given that Fox had pushed the movie out of its original fall release date into early 2015, and that the movie itself — a violent, tongue-in-cheek riff on the spy genre starring Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson — doesn't exactly scream critic bait.

There's some serious partying going on one late October evening in a remote area outside of Toronto. From a distance, a fire pit's glow cascades over the area. Loud music interrupts the midnight silence. Clanging beer bottles and glasses contribute to the festive atmosphere. Male voices can be heard and so can .... growling?
This is no human get-together. Mere steps away, a feral pack of werewolves is celebrating merrily around the charred body of a victim as it roasts on a spit. The werewolf predators sit on tree stumps as they rip into their human meal and take swigs of alcohol. A tent stands in the background next to a large table. But the true showstopper on-site is a throne with deer bones adorning the top.
All of a sudden, alpha werewolf Connor (Jason Momoa) slowly stands up from his crouched position, cocks his head and looks around. All the...

Before I Go to Sleep has released a new trailer.
Nicole Kidman stars in Rowan Joffe's psychological thriller as a woman suffering from recurring amnesia.
Christine wakes every day with no knowledge of who she is, and only a series of videos and clues exist to help her fill in the gaps.
She finds herself caught between the man claiming to be her husband (Colin Firth) and her psychologist (Mark Strong), both of whom may not want her to solve the riddle of her trauma.
Kidman was most recently seen in Grace of Monaco.
Strong and Firth starred together in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and will be seen again in Matthew Vaughan's upcoming Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Before I Go to Sleep will be released on September 5 in the UK and September 12 in the Us.

X-Men: Days of Future Past co-writer Simon Kinberg gave some spoilerish details on his newly released film and also offered up some more details about about the next films in the franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse and Gambit. I absolutely loved what was done with Days of Future Past. That movie was awesome and is easily the best X-Men movie so far.

The final moments of X-Men: Days of Future Past is a heartwarming, geek-out worthy sequence in which it is revealed that the X-Men timeline has been altered drastically and previously deceased characters, namely Cyclops and Jean Grey, have been brought back to life. When Vulture asked producer/screenwriter Simon Kinberg if the character rebirths were always planned, he responded: "I went back recently — like two days ago, because I've been in Baton Rouge and my brain's been in Fantastic Four — I put my brain back into Days of Future Past, and I looked at my original outline for the movie, which was dated exactly two years before we're premiering the movie: May 10th, 2012. The original outline, the first thing anyone read — the studio, the producers, anyone — it was something me and Matthew Vaughan worked on together. In that original outline, the characters that come back at the...

A cold-eyed stare which could stop you in your tracks and a deeply unnerving grimace are just two of the characteristics which made Michael Ironside the go-to villain in eighties and nineties genre cinema. Ironside has a whopping 200-plus acting credits to his name, and similar to the likes of Lance Henriksen and Rutger Hauer, he’s cultivated a respected fanbase over the decades, many of whom came to appreciate him during the golden era of the video shop. His latest role is alongside Dominic Purcell in Ice Soldiers, out next week on DVD.
His popularity from those decades was very much affirmed when he was recently cast in cameo roles by A-list Hollywood directors McG and Matthew Vaughan, adding fun metatexual moments in their X-Men and Terminator movies. He returns this week in new DVD thriller Ice Soldiers and we’ve taken the opportunity to look back at some of his most memorable roles.
