Marvel Studios has drastically reduced its output since Bob Iger returned as Disney CEO, with the hope being to get back to quality over quantity. That's led to fewer TV shows on Disney+, but at least two more Marvel Animation titles will reportedly be released this year.
According to What's On Disney Plus (via Toonado.com), the streamer has sent out an updated 2024 slate which names Black Panther spin-off Eyes Of Wakanda and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (previously known as Spider-Man: Freshman Year) as being among the platform's 2024 offerings.
Other Marvel titles mentioned include Hit-Monkey season 2 (a Marvel Television leftover), Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, and Deadpool & Wolverine. Only Hit-Monkey has a confirmed launch date of July 15; the rest are currently undated.
It's interesting that Marvel Zombies isn't listed, as we'd expected that to hit in 2024 as well. It could be that no final decision has been made on the series,...

Rocket Science and CAA Media Finance are launching foreign sales out of Cannes for the John Lee Hancock directed Monsanto starring Glen Powell, Anthony Mackie and Oscar winner Laura Dern.
Monsanto tells the true story of young, untried attorney Brent Wisner (Powell) who takes on a seemingly insurmountable case against the giant U.S. chemical company Monsanto on behalf of Dewayne “Lee” Johnson (Mackie) who used Monsanto’s best-known product Roundup, a wildly financially successful weed and grass pesticide killer, as part of his job as a high school groundskeeper. During the trial, Dr Melinda Rogers (Dern), the chief toxicologist of the Monsanto Company, testifies with certainty that Roundup is safe.
Pic’s screenplay was developed in association with Karl Spoerri’s Zurich Avenue and penned by Michael Wisner, Alexandra Duparc, Ned Benson and Hancock. Producers are Moritz Borman, Eric Kopeloff, Philip Schulz-Deyle and Jon Levin alongside HyperObject Industries’ Adam McKay and Kevin Messick.

Captain America: Brave New World is nine months away from swooping into theaters, but more promo art has surfaced today which reveals that Sam Wilson will don a helmet in the movie.
Given how perfect Sam's Captain America suit in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was, there's already been some disappointment among fans that the hero is now basically wearing his Falcon goggles with Steve Rogers' old suit.
This headgear is another big departure and doesn't look that different from Ant-Man's helmet. However, we see a breathing tube which suggests Sam will wear this during a high-altitude battle of some sort.
There's also a nod to Captain America's "A" on the helmet, though it's relatively subtle.
Marvel Studios runs the risk of this feeling like The Falcon wearing Captain America's suit, and the pressure is on to deliver here with Captain America: Brave New World having to follow in...

Anthony Mackie isn’t complaining about his Marvel career, which has seen him take on the roles of The Falcon and Captain America.
But because the characters are so established, “There’s only so much you can do,” he said.
In an interview with RadioTimes, Mackie was asked about working on Marvel projects vs. Peacock’s Twisted Metal, the latter where he plays John Doe.
Within the MCU, “There’s only so much creativity you can bring to the table because Stan Lee gave us so much content,” Mackie said. “Whereas with [Twisted Metal], it was like, ‘There’s a guy and a girl go.’ So we were really able to build the world around it.”
Mackie’s said Twisted Metal had nothing tied to his character, so it allowed him to try more things. But everyone still managed to “stay true to the characters in the video games.”

When it comes to compelling antagonists in the MCU, it has been a kind of mixed bag, as, for every Killmonger, we have had the likes of Malekith and Whiplash. Fortunately, Daniel Bruhl’s Zemo was one of the more interesting villains the cinematic giant had to offer, who despite lacking any superpower of his own, succeeded in breaking the Avengers.
And while Zemo is still out there in the MCU, Bruhl is seemingly putting his future in the MCU in jeopardy with his upcoming HBO show The Franchise.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Homecoming has been a unique addition to the MCU, which turned into a massive hit, followed by two further sequels. Now, as the film deeply connects to the larger universe, Michael Keaton appeared as Adrian Toomes, who was featured in the installment as a villain, solely because he couldn’t make a living by stealing equipment from past battles involving the Avengers.
Michael Keaton as The Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming
Following this plotline of Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture, fans wondered how a guy like him knew about operating and understanding the mechanics of his flight rig. Thereafter, a theory originated which reasoned why Toomes was so adept at his technology and flight. But while the theory offered a justification, it also created a connection between The Vulture and The Falcon.

The Captain America films have always had a recurring supporting character, that being Steve Rogers’ lifelong friend Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier. Initially presumed dead in the first film, he soon returned as a brainwashed agent of Hydra until he was eventually freed from his mental enslavers. He would go on to appear in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame and would even get a starring role in the Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
But now it seems that the upcoming fourth film, Captain America: Brave New World, will be breaking this tradition as actor Sebastian Stan will apparently not be in the film. Actor Anthony Mackie, known for playing Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon, and now Captain America, stated in a recent interview that he missed Sebastian on set. He said:

After facing issues with their VFX artists and Anthony Mackie calling out the studio’s measures to maintain diversity, Marvel Studios has now found itself embroiled in a legal battle for copyright infringement. The lawsuit has been filed by the digital artist Darius Alas and alleges unauthorized use of his original two-dimensional digital graphic artwork for the Marvel project, Werewolf by Night.

Created by Michael Giacchino, the studio released Warewolf by Night as a TV special in 2022. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Anthony Mackie is one of the primary actors in the present MCU as the new Captain America. Although there is time for this version of Captain America to get his solo venture, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier gave us a glimpse of Sam Wilson in action with the iconic Shield. Interestingly, during the promotional campaign for the Disney+ series, Mackie revealed that he wanted his character to have a romantic sub-plot with Black Widow.

It’s unfortunate, but most streaming shows (and movies for that matter) never get a physical release, but thankfully, Disney has been releasing some of their most popular Marvel and Star Wars shows on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray. Following in the footsteps of Loki season 1, WandaVision, and the first two seasons of The Mandalorian, Disney announced today that they will be releasing collector’s editions of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, Andor, and Obi-Wan Kenobi on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray. Hurray for physical media!

Several Disney+ TV shows, including Andor, are getting physical releases and in 4K too! More on those below.
In the age of streaming, physical media has become a bit of a hot topic. On one hand, digital libraries and streaming services mean that you’ve got an almost endless amount of films and TV shows at your disposal.
However, as Guillermo Del Toro noted, you only truly own a film if you own it physically. There are plenty of great TV shows and films on streaming services that are not available on physical media, but four Disney+ shows are getting 4K Uhd Blu-ray releases so there’s still hope.
Andor, Moon Knight, Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier have been confirmed for 4K Uhd Blu-ray and will be available from 30th April. At the time of writing, it looks like this is US only, with a UK release pending.

“People jump in, you jump in. That’s the rule.” So says one of high schooler Miguel’s punch-happy pals at the start of Hulu’s bawdy comedy flick Miguel Wants to Fight (premiering August 16). But Miguel has never jumped in. That realization is a shock to his three best friends—ex-boxer David (Christian Vunipola), scrappy Cass (Imani Lewis), and sharp-tongued Srini (Suraj Partha)—who swear they’ve seen the guy throw at least one punch. Later, when Miguel gets the upsetting news that he’s moving hours away from Syracuse with his family, he decides to try to get into his first fight instead of telling his friends. Conveniently, he lives in a neighborhood where everyone, and we mean everyone, is always getting into a scrap. “Miguel is surrounded by fighting. That’s something we wanted to enforce, even in the murals that he walks by,” director Oz Rodriguez says.

Ben Affleck was trying to distance himself from his role as Matt Murdock in the critically panned Daredevil, Tobey Maguire was hanging up his Spidey-suit for (seemingly forever) and even Chris Evans was scarred from his role as Johnny Storm in the disappointing Fantastic Four series. And before we saw Affleck dawn the mantle of the world’s greatest detective, before Tobey swung his way back into the spotlight, and before Evans would secure his role as one of the most iconic superheroes of all time- Marvel was Seriously in need of some movie maintenance.

Actor Anthony Mackie, best known for his role as ‘The Falcon’ in Marvel Cinematic Universe, has come to the defense of fellow MCU actor Jonathan Majors, who recently starred as ‘Kang the Conqueror’ in the MCU film ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, after the latter was charged with multiple misdemeanour counts of assault and harassment back in March.
“We’re a country that was built on ‘everyone is innocent until proven guilty,’” Mackie told Inverse when asked about Majors’ alleged assault. “That’s one of the staples of this country. Nothing has been proven about this dude. Nothing.”
He further mentioned, quoted by Variety: “So everyone is innocent until proven guilty. That’s all I can say. It’s crazy where we are as a society. But as a country, everyone is innocent until proven guilty.”

Is Aldous Huxley the new head of Hydra?
Marvel Studios has renamed its fourth First Avenger film “Captain America: Brave New World,” changing the 2024 release’s original title of “Captain America: New World Order.” The May 3 release date has not changed.
“Brave New World” is also the title of Huxley’s altogether too predictive 1932 dystopian novel, set in a futuristic World State. Disney did not explain the reason for the change in its Tuesday morning release, though the phrase “New World Order” carries a whiff of globalist politics that the literary “Brave New World” does not.
The studio also released its first set photo from the movie, currently in production. Harrison Ford and Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson and takes over the mantle of Cap for “Brave New World,” can be seen yukking it up behind the scenes.

Legacy has been part of superhero storytelling, almost from the beginning. When one character can no longer maintain their super-moniker, they pass it on to another, creating a chain of heroes with different takes on the same identity. Traditionally, legacy heroes have been more of a DC Comics thing than a Marvel thing, resulting in more Flashes than Thors. But with its ever-expanding live-action universe, the MCU is embracing the legacy concept as new actors take on established names.
We’ve already seen glimpses of this with Jane Foster becoming Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder and Shuri stepping in as Black Panther after the death of her brother T’Challa, as well as potential legacy characters with Kate Bishop’s Hawkeye and Yelena Belova’s White Widow.
But Sam Wilson’s path to becoming Captain America has been underway for some time, ever since the elderly Steve Rogers handed...

In Marlowe, he’ll go noir as he attempts to fill the shoes of one of the most storied private eyes in history: a character who’s been played by some of the biggest actors in Hollywood history.

This article contains major MCU spoilers
It’s been a wild ride in a post-Thanos world, and in the aftermath of the Blip, it’s a very different Marvel Cinematic Universe. We can’t believe it’s been three years since Avengers: Endgame dusted the Mad Titan, but since then we’ve had everything from multiple Spider-Men to the Multiverse, a black Captain America to a female Thor, Egyptian gods to Celestials, and everything in between.
Without a typical Avengers movie to tie everything together, critics feel Phase 4 of the MCU missed the mark on some levels. Still, we’ve got to hand it to Kevin Feige, he packed a lot in. Now that Ryan Coogler has had the honor of closing this chapter with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it’s time to look back at the best and worst moments of the MCU Phase 4.

The ubiquitous Marvel Cinematic Universe has reached a critical mass where it is almost unavoidable. Like a supermassive black hole, it's going to keep absorbing every actor of repute until everybody has a part to play in the world of the Avengers. Because of this, nearly every actor worth their salt has been in a Marvel movie at some point or another by now. It's almost a rite of passage in stardom. While most people have generally positive experiences, there certainly have been those, like Christian Bale, who has spoken out about their lack of enjoyment in working for the Marvel content machine.

This article contains spoilers for episode 8 of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Captain America: Civil War
Not only does She Hulk: Attorney at Law use its “lawyer show” premise to bring Matt Murdock and his alter-ego Daredevil further into the fold of the MCU, but it also uses the courtroom to officially reveal the status of what is arguably the Avengers’ second biggest conflict after Thanos. In Murdock’s defense of superhero costume designer Luke Jacobson (Griffin Matthews) during the penultimate episode of the season, he briefly mentions that the Sokovia Accords have been repealed.
Before Baron Zemo’s (Daniel Brühl) master plan is revealed in Captain America: Civil War, the Avengers are already divided on whether or not they should sign the Sokovia Accords. The new Captain America has been christened. In Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers handed his shield off to Sam Wilson aka The Falcon. In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson officially adopted the moniker Captain America. Recently, Marvel Studios’ fearless leader Kevin Feige announced the future projects of the next phases of the MCU. One of them is the new spin-off/sequel, Captain America: New World Order.
Mackie recently spoke with Variety on his new cause and what the future holds for Cap. When asked about how much input he’s able to contribute to the new film, Mackie had this to say,
They’re definitely very inclusive. When we did The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, [writer] Malcolm Spellman and I talked at length about what that character was turning into, what we wanted him to be, what we wanted that narrative to be. Now with Malcolm writing this Captain America,...

Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passed on his shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) in Avengers: Endgame, bringing Captain America’s arc to a well-deserved conclusion. The events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier found Wilson taking on the mantle of Captain America as it explored the implications of a Black man being given that role. Anthony Mackie will be bringing his version of Cap to the big screen with Captain America: New World Order, but there are bound to be comparisons between the two heroes.

Back at Comic-Con, Disney & Marvel Studios revealed that a Thunderbolts movie would be hitting theatres on July 26th, 2024, and now, at D23, we’ve gotten an official cast list. Sebastian Stan leads the adventure as The Winter Soldier and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, aka the new Black Widow. Her adopted dad, David Harbour’s Red Guardian, is along for the ride, as is Olga Kurylenko’s Taskmaster, but the rest of the team is where it gets really interesting. Wyatt Russell’s John Walker (aka US Agent) from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, and Hannah John Kamen’s Ghost from Ant-Man and the Wasp make up the rest of the team. At the D23 panel, Stan joked about Winter Soldier is the most stable member of the group.
In the comics, the Thunderbolts are a team of anti-heroes consisting of mostly reformed supervillains.
