Wildling Pictures has launched a new TV division focusing high-end drama, kids, YA and family content.
The Toronto-based production company, whose feature film output includes Iris Apatow starrer “Young Wether” and David Bowie biopic “Stardust,” have unveiled their first scripted TV slate as part of the expansion.
Highlights include screen adaptations of novels “A Death at The Party” by Amy Stuart and “Clara Voyant” by Rachelle Delaney.
In “A Death at The Party” protagonist Nadine is in the middle of throwing a garden party when she finds herself face to face with a dead body in the basement. She soon embarks on a hunt for the truth. Screenwriter Joanne Sarazen (“Tammy’s Always Dying”) will adapt the novel into a series.
Delaney’s “Clara Voyant” is a coming-of-age about wannabe journalist and astrologer Clara, who is crushed when her student newspaper assigns her the horoscopes beat… until she realizes that she is actually clairvoyant.

Since breaking into Hollywood in 1999, Michael Cera has made a name for himself with roles in "Arrested Development," "Superbad," and "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World." The actor also won everyone over with his recent performance of Allan in Greta Gerwig's "Barbie." Despite being a huge star, Cera prefers to keep a low profile when it comes to his personal life. Although we know Cera is married to a woman named Nadine, we don't know much about their relationship. Details about Cera's wife, like her last name, also remain a mystery.
In fact, the couple is so low-key that they kept the birth of their first child a secret for months. Fans first became aware of their baby in March 2022 after Cera's "Life & Beth" costar, Amy Schumer, accidentally let it slip in their joint interview with Entertainment Tonight. While talking about her son, Gene, Schumer noted, "Michael has a baby,...

Michael Cera has acted in some of Hollywood's biggest comedies, with "Juno," "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World," and "Superbad" among his popular movies. Outside of his roles in film, Cera has also starred in a number of notable TV shows, including "Arrested Development" and most recently, the Hulu comedy drama series, "Life & Beth," alongside Amy Schumer. Despite the star's extensive acting résumé and connection to several A-list celebrities, Cera prefers to keep his life out of the spotlight, especially when it comes to those he has dated.
In terms of relationships, the "Barbie" actor has only been linked to two people in the public eye: his "Scott Pilgrim" costar Aubrey Plaza and his wife, Nadine, whom he married sometime before or around March 2018, per People. In the fall of 2021, they privately welcomed a son, but news of his son's birth was made public when Schumer revealed it accidentally in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

“The story itself is just so compelling… it’s all about healing,” shares Caroline B. Marx about what drew her to the new Hulu series “UnPrisoned,” which centers on a daughter attempting to reconcile with her father after his 17-year prison sentence. The costume designer appreciated that the show is “based on reality” — it draws inspiration from the life of creator Tracy McMillan — and that it is “socially relevant.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.
Kerry Washington stars as Paige, a relationship therapist who welcomes her father Edwin (Delroy Lindo) into her home despite the effects his incarceration had on her as a child. Marx collaborated closely with the actress to pick the color palate of Paige’s fashion, which McMillan had described to her as “Minneapolis but by way of Brooklyn.” The creator conceived of Paige as a “hipster but she’s adulting now,” but Tracy herself “doesn’t wear color at all,...

Welcome to Fiscal Spotlight, a special monthly round up of projects—at all stages of production—working their way through Film Independent’s Fiscal Sponsorship pipeline.

Over the past year there’s been a bumper crop of Lgbtqia+ films spanning the entire breadth of the cinematic medium–from unsettling dramas like Tár and The Whale, to uproarious rom-coms Fire Island and Bros, to incisive and arresting documentaries like Nelly & Nadine and Jimmy in Saigon (the latter a previous Film Independent Fiscal Spotlight subject.) Happily, this year doesn’t seem to be letting its foot off the gas one gay inch, with a robust pipeline of diverse queer content in imminent release and under development under the umbrella of Film Independent’s Artist Development.
Take the three projects we’re showing off in this month’s column. Here we have a narrative short, autobiographical feature and feature-length documentary. One is a drama,...

Shifting the action to where the Lakeshore Strangler grew up was a stroke of genius.
Chucky Season 2 Episode 2 picked up with Jake, Devon, and Lexy trying to come to terms with their past, all while knowing that Chucky could pop up at any moment.
It's hard to understand the emotional toll that would take on an adult, never mind a teenager, but this trio will stick together through thick and thin.
I figured they would all be split up when they arrived at this mysterious location, so I was shocked to find out that Devon and Jake got to share a room.
Then again, that development probably means they'll be split up when the staff finds out they're in a relationship.
Lexy sharing with Nadine is probably a recipe for disaster. We don't know much about her beyond the fact that she's been locked up for years.
But it's hard...
