In November, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a federal lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York federal court. Her lawsuit includes graphic claims of sexual assault, physical abuse, and an allegation that Combs, her ex-boyfriend, would force her to have sex with male sex workers while he watched. Ventura’s claims are among the worst, but not the first controversy that the music mogul and entrepreneur has been alleged to be involved in.

From Slick Rick and 2Pac to Shyne and Bobby Shmurda, prison time impacts musical careers, mostly for the worst. Young Stoner Life (Ysl) top dog Young Thug has been incarcerated for more than a year on charges of conspiracy to violate the Rico Act. Yet, in spite of that tragedy and turmoil, he’s here to set the record straight with his first album since 2021’s Punk, assisted by executive producer Metro Boomin and a supporting cast of his A-list rap peers.

Chart-topping rapper NBA Young Boy was found not guilty at his felony gun trial in federal court in Los Angeles on Friday.
The popular and prolific artist, born Kentrell Gaulden, jumped up in celebration when he heard the verdict, then quickly sat down again so the judge could excuse the jury of seven women and five men who returned the unanimous verdict.
“I’m feeling great,” Gaulden told Rolling Stone after hugging his lawyers James Manasseh, André Bélanger, Tanner Woods, Robby Gill, and Andrew Flier seconds after the judge left the bench.

NBA YoungBoy’s fate was dropped in the hands of a federal jury in Los Angeles Thursday after lawyers on both sides said the case accusing the wildly popular rapper of being a felon in possession of a firearm was “simple.”
Prosecutors argued YoungBoy, born Kentrell Gaulden, proved his own guilt when he led LAPD and FBI officers on a high-speed chase through a residential neighborhood called Tarzana, jumped fences, and hid in a backyard minutes before a high-end gun was recovered from the floorboard of his brand-new Mercedes Maybach...

Diddy pulled out all the stops Sunday night for his epic BET Awards performance. In honor of his lifetime achievement award, the icon took us way back to the golden era of the '90s with a star-studded tribute featuring hip-hop and R&b legends like Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, Lil' Kim, Busta Rhymes, The Lox, and Faith Evans, plus a surprise performance from rapper Shyne.
From his Uptown Records days to his iconic Bad Boy run, Diddy's explosive performance was everything fans hoped to see and then some. The music mogul even brought out Bryson Tiller to perform their new single, "Gotta Move On," which they previously performed at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards that Diddy hosted.
But the best moment of the iconic performance was Diddy's sweet closing number of "I'll Be Missing You," which he dedicated to his late ex-partner Kim Porter, Andre Harrell, and The Notorious B.I.G....

At an empty beach bar in Corozal, a shaggy town of a few thousand people just minutes from where northern Belize meets Mexico’s share of the Yucatan Peninsula, waves crash into a jagged, rocky breakwater. It’s 9 p.m., the kitchenis about to close, and the only people left are some young, very loud, and very sober American missionaries. Another languid Caribbean day is winding down, but my dinner companion, Moses Michael Levi “Shyne” Barrow, has no desire to linger over a meal and conversation. He’s shoveling in his fried fish,...

In 1999, the walls started closing in on Sean “Puffy” Combs. Two years prior, his friend and Bad Boy Records superstar, the Notorious B.I.G., was gunned down in California. Puff’s album No Way Out, released a few months after Biggie’s death, bled with genuine grief and sorrow, and Bad Boy seemed like it could be poised to reign for decades. The label’s roster was stacked with many of New York’s most exciting voices — the Lox, Lil Kim, Faith Evans, 112, and Harlem rapper Mase. But by...

Rapper NBA YoungBoy's setting the bar high when it comes to friendship and loyalty ... immortalizing Young Thug with this Sick pendant. We're told YoungBoy reached out to Joe the Jeweler, aka "Shyne," in Philly and requested the custom pendant ... encrusted with 95 carat Vvs diamonds worth around $150k. Shyne needed about 2 months to complete the masterpiece, which btw is a replica of an actual Yt pic. So why Young Thug? YoungBoy considers him a great friend and an idol.

It looks like Shyne's homecoming is on hold for the moment.
The former Bad Boy rapper (born Jamal Barrow) was scheduled to be released from prison Tuesday (October 6) after serving more than nine years of a 10-year sentence in connection with the 2001 Club New York shooting involving Diddy and Jennifer Lopez.
But his release is now under review, as representatives for the rapper revealed to MTV News that the Brooklyn Mc is being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an unspecified facility in Western New York State. Officials are determining whether or not to deport the rapper, who was born in Belize, a rep explained.
"Shyne is currently in federal custody while his future immigration status is determined," the rep said in a message to MTV News.
