Tyler-James has been involved with several projects that have caught our attention in recent months. The filmmaker has produced the films that turn the popular nursery rhymes Mary Had a Little Lamb and Three Blind Mice into horror stories, and directed The Loch Ness Horror. Now a trailer for a new Tyler-James project has arrived online. This one is a creature feature called Monsternado, and you can check out the trailer in the embed above!
Uncork’d Entertainment will be giving Monsternado a digital and DVD release on November 14th.
Tyler-James directed the film from a screenplay by Derek Miller, who previously wrote episodes of Dads in Parks and It’s Pony. This one has the following synopsis: A tornado, infested with prehistoric monsters, has formed in the Bermuda Triangle, and is making its way towards land. Megalodon, Pterodactyls, Giant Octopuses, Crocodiles, and more attack – now the city must fight to survive against these deadly creatures.

Sleigh Bells have returned with a new song, “Locust Laced,” set to appear on their upcoming album, Texis, out September 10th via Mom + Pop.
“Locust Laced” is classic Sleigh Bells with cranked-to-11 guitar riffs and blown-out electronic percussion raging beneath Alexis Krauss’ sugar-rush vocals as she belts, “I feel like dynamite/I feel like dying tonight!”
The track also arrives with a music video, which Sleigh Bells guitarist Derek Miller co-directed with Nina Ljeti. It finds the band performing on an old-timey country program, but the performance goes steadily haywire...

We all know that Bruce Willis spends most of his acting days appearing in cash-grab cameos in an interminable number of direct to market films; films that pop up on supermarket shelves with Willis’ face front and centre as if he’s the star. Hard Kill is yet another example of this stage in Willis’ oeuvre.
Hard Kill is also yet another Emmett/Furla production, a company who seem to be following the Pm Entertainment model of churning out action movie after action movie, with actors who are either long-term mid-carders or, like Willis, are in the twilight of their career. I’m not complaining. There was, for quite some time, a distinct lack of mid-budget original action movie fare made in the US.

Hard Kill sounds like a fake movie that people in a movie would go and see. The upcoming action thriller stars Bruce Willis as a billionaire tech CEO who’s hired a team of mercs to guard a new, lethal gadget. Things go pear-shaped, though, when Willis’ character’s daughter is kidnapped by terrorists and his security chief Derek Miller (Desperate Housewives’ Jesse Metcalfe) must chase down the baddies, rescue the girl and save the world. The movie is heading to select drive-in theaters and VOD on August 28th and now, a new clip has been released showing masked men firing guns at each other in a warehouse.
I know it’s unfair to judge a film before I’ve seen it, but this is just about the most generic gunfight I’ve ever witnessed. You have a bunch of anonymous masked men firing wildly at one another yet hitting nobody,...

The first time you hear Treats is a shock to the system. From that initial pow-pow airhorn on “Tell ‘Em,” the 2010 debut from indie duo Sleigh Bells is a cause for concern — so abrasive in its mix of heavy-metal guitars, trap hi-hats, punk sneer, and pop enthusiasm that, even at a reasonable volume, it sounds like it’s holding a knife to your speakers. Writer-producer-instrumentalist Derek Miller brings the explosive riffs and chant-like lyrics; vocalist Alexis Krauss brings the cadence and attitude of a SoulCycle coach cheerfully marching you toward hell.

In Derek Miller’s apartment in Williamsburg, there is a poster on the refrigerator door of Larry Bird, the Boston Celtics legend. Bird’s mouth is agape, his right arm fully extended, his body nearly horizontal as he lunges for a basketball that is just beyond the reach of his fingertips. Across the top of the poster is a quotation from Bird: “It makes me sick when I see a guy just watching it go out of bounds.”On a bright fall afternoon, Miller, the guitarist and producer of the indie-pop duo Sleigh Bells, is lounging on his sofa with his bandmate, singer Alexis Krauss. The Bird poster isn’t the only thing that gives the apartment a man-cave feel. Miller is pecking at his MacBook, whose desktop wallpaper is a photo of Michael Jordan. There is a pair of boxing gloves in a corner against a wall. The U.

A weak few first episodes for a TV show can often be enough to kill it even if it manages to substantially improve three to four episodes in, and that's exactly what happened to Wedding Band. Admittedly based on something of a gimmick of a premise with each episode seeing the titular group (Brian Austin Green, Peter Cambor, Derek Miller, Harold Perrineau) play a random event covering hit songs in creative and eclectic fashion, Wedding Band evolved into something with genuine comedy potential fairly quickly. As supporting cast Melora Hardin (from Us's The Office) and Jenny Wade gradually began to play bigger parts in the episodes, the exchanges between the six protagonists began to really take off. It's sad, but Wedding Band was a punchy comedy with a great cast that lost its viewers before it could prove it deserved another season.

DC Collectibles is selling this badass statue, which is based on the climactic fight between Batman and Superman from Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. The statue was sculpted by Derek Miller, and it's 11 inches tall. It also features Batman's sidekick Robin hiding in the wreckage beneath the fight. I've always loved that Batman armor design!
The Batman vs. Superman Statue can be purchased for $243.59 on Amazon.

TBS has cancelled Wedding Band after one season. The sitcom ran for 10 episodes on Saturday nights and completed its run this past Saturday at 10pm.
Wedding Band revolves around a group of four adult friends who perform in a wedding band in their spare time. The show features the talents of Brian Austin Green, Derek Miller, Harold Perrineau, Peter Cambor, Jenny Wade, Kathryn Fiore, and Melora Hardin.
The show debuted on November 10th to 1.85 million viewers with a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic. The ratings for subsequent installments were quite a bit lower and fell as low as 937,000 viewers.
While Wedding Band won't be back for a second season, TBS still has several original sitcoms -- Sullivan and Son, Men at Work, and Cougar Town. All of those essentially draw about twice as many viewers as Wedding...

The party is over for "Wedding Band." The TBS musical comedy starring Brian Austin Green aired its final episode on Saturday (Jan. 19) and will not return for a second season on the cable network.
This story of four guys who perform cover songs at weddings may have been doomed from the start. Airing at 10pm on Saturdays -- possibly the worst "prime-time" slot available -- "Wedding Band" never managed to top 2 million total viewers at any point in its run. Only 1.4 million tuned in for the finale (according to The Hollywood Reporter).
Also appearing with Green on the show were a mix of familiar and unfamiliar TV faces. Melora Hardin ("The Office," "Monk"), Harold Perrineau ("Lost"), Jenny Wade ("Reaper," "The Good Guys"), Peter Cambor ("NCIS: Los Angeles") and Derek Miller co-starred in the 10-episode series. Although the show also attracted some big-name guest stars -- including Green's wife Megan Fox -- viewers never followed.

Saturday nights are usually spent going out and trying to find a big adventure full of fun and laughs. But what if you could actually get that from home without leaving your couch? The new hit TBS show Wedding Band is hitting all the right notes with its humor, harmony and out of the box characters that make you feel like a wedding crasher each episode!
Wedding Band focuses on just that, a wedding band named "Mother of the Bride" that's fronted by a lead singer Tommy (Brian Austin Green) who is sexy and he knows it. He is a womanizer, and that's what makes him the most happy (beyond singing of course). He goes by the philosophy that weddings should not just the best night of the bride and groom's lives, but the wedding guests' as well! In order to pull that off, though, you often need to use...

TBS’ motto is “very funny,” but they have yet to prove that they are (until Cougar Town premieres on this station). Their latest attempt at humor comes in the form of Wedding Band, an hour-long dramedy about developmentally arrested men who perform in a band—for weddings, yes, but also for bachelor parties, bar-mitzvahs, and funerals.
Tommy (Brian Austin Green) is a playboy bachelor and lead singer of the band Mother of the Bride. On lead guitar is Eddie (Pete Cambor) a married man who somehow finds time to play gigs while being a stay-at-home dad. His brother Barry (Derek Miller, doing his best Jack Black impersonation) plays the drums yet aspires to do vocals as well. Newbie African-Canadian Stevie (Harold Perrineau, playing the opposite of his Lost character Michael) rounds out the band and acts as the supplemental sidekick when necessary.

Maybe you don't think of them while you're out there boogeying to "I Will Survive" or doing the chicken dance, but those guys in the wedding band are people, too.
Sometimes they're very funny people, in fact, with entertaining lives, as is the case with the new TBS comedy "Wedding Band," premiering Saturday, Nov. 10. It's about four friends who spend their weekends as wannabe rock gods in their cleverly named group, Mother of the Bride. Brian Austin Green ("Beverly Hills, 90210") plays Tommy, the hunky lead singer who still lives for good times and pretty girls. Then there are Eddie (Peter Cambor), the sometimes responsible husband, father and businessman; Stevie (Harold Perrineau), the studio musician looking for something different; and Barry (Derek Miller), the loose cannon drummer whose energy level puts Jack Black to shame.

Having seen the first couple episodes of this fine new comedy series, the secret ingredient truly is the chemistry of the cast. TBS struck gold when it tapped to star in Wedding Band the talents of Brian Austin Green, Peter Cambor, Harold Perrineau, Derek Miller, Jenny Wade and Melora Hardin. Their layered performances make their characters feel simultaneously hilarious and very real. The show may feature a wedding band, but the genuine musical talent and awesome chemistry that makes this show addictive. Anyone who tunes in will be coming back for more. It is that good – and it is outrageously fun.

This is not a good sign. TBS this morning announced the long-delayed premiere of Wedding Band, giving the hourlong comedy a burnoff Saturday night slot. Wedding Band, from FremantleMedia and Mike Tollin Prods., will launch on Saturday, Nov. 10, eighteen months after it was picked up to series, at 10 Pm. Wedding Band was developed as part of TBS’ 2010 shift from half-hour to hourlong comedies, which produced two series, Franklin & Bash, which migrated to sibling TNT, and Wedding Band. Wedding Band was ordered to series in May 2011. Shortly thereafter, TBS abandoned the hourlong comedy strategy, returning to half-hour sitcoms with Men At Work and Sullivan & Son. Now, with off-network half-hour sitcom The Big Bang Theory firing on all cylinders, TBS’ development and programming is focused entirely on half-hour comedies, making Wedding Band the odd man out. Thus the Saturday time slot in mid-November when many series start to wrap their originals heading...

Cue Brooklyn metal-pop duo Sleigh Bells… because why not, right? On the show's season premiere (airing September 3), Bourdain heads down to Austin to chill with Derek Miller, Alexis Krauss & Co. at their rented SXSW house. Grilled pig, avocado margaritas and, yes, tattoos ensue.

Brooklyn natives Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss of the popular indie rock outfit Sleigh Bells are big Beyonce fans. So are we, so we totally get it. They even had the chance to collaborate (kind of) with the superstar diva last year, and though the fruits of their labor never saw the light of day, the pair not only voiced their desire to work with her again to NME but also recorded a stripped down cover of her smash hit "Irreplaceable" to show how much they adore her.
"Obviously we're massive fans of her and she's a living legend. I'd love to actually work with her someday when I actually get some creative input," Miller, who mans the guitars for Bells, told NME. "I wouldn't say that it [the project] failed, it just feels like it never really happened."

Even if you only know of Sleigh Bells in passing, you probably know that the band's signature sound involves a lot of loud, some might say painful, guitar riffs. (I would say painfully awesome. But it's definitely not the kind of thing that's universally beloved.) But every now and then singer Alexis Krauss and guitarist Derek Miller tone it down a bit, like on "Rill Rill," one of the most popular tracks from their debut album, Treats, if my unscientific polling of friends is any indication. So it's clear the band can do scaled-down quite well. But: how would they do with a cover of Beyonce's "hear me roar" ballad "Irreplaceable"? (You know it: "To the left, to the..." I'll let you mumble the rest quietly to yourself now.) To be honest, that song just [...]...

Sleigh Bells are a Brooklyn duo consisting of guitarist Derek Miller and lead singer Alexis Krauss. Their differing musical background explains the contrasting sound of their sophomore effort, Reign Of Terror, with Miller being the ex-guitarist of hardcore band Poison The Well and Krauss having her basis solely in pop music. This unusual combination created an interesting atmosphere on their first album which came somewhat out of left-field, but fans now know what to expect from Sleigh Bells, meaning they had to pull something special out of the bag to live up to the hype on the second album. Unfortunately, they’ve definitely fallen short of the mark.
Before I start criticising the album, there are some strong points to it. Firstly, it sounds huge. The production quality is top notch, and the influence of 80s arena rock bands like Def Leppard are obvious due to...

TNT and TBS, which staged their Upfront presentation today in New York, are making bold moves to bolster their remarkably strong foundations in original programming. The networks are developing extensive new lineups of scripted and unscripted series and making a new push into half-hour comedy in partnership with some of the top talents in the industry, from award-winning actors to acclaimed producers, writers and best-selling authors.

New York — A typical Sleigh Bells show pretty much matriculates into a sweaty body-slamming, grunting contest. But hordes of college girls decked themselves out in black spandex leggings and wayfarers anyway, before cramming into Webster Hall Wednesday night. Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller, who are still toddlers musically coming off their first album Treats a year ago, held the stage like they owned it with their cranked bass notes and heavy metal treble.
They stomped, punched and whipped the crowd into a frenzy, but there were still lingering appetites at the end of the set, which lasted less than an hour. It makes sense to have veteran act Css co-headline for this very reason; Sleigh Bells have the chops to light up the crowd, but their song arsenal isn't deep enough to truly headline a venue like Webster Hall all by themselves.

Exclusive: I hear TBS is close to giving a series order to hourlong pilot The Wedding Band starring Brian Austin Green, Peter Cambor and Harold Perrineau. I also hear that the network's other two one-hour pilots, Ron Shelton's Hound Dogs and the Dean Devlin-produced Brain Trust, are not going forward. Along with the broadcast networks, TNT and TBS are also prepping for their upfront presentation next week. TBS is expected to officially unveil The Wedding Band at the Turner presentation Wednesday. The Wedding Band, from writers and executive producers Josh Lobis and Darin Moiselle (South Park), FremantleMedia and Mike Tollin's Tollin Prods., follows a group of guys performing in a wedding band, anchored by two lifelong best friends -- perennial bachelor Tommy (Brian Austin Green) and Eddie (Peter Cambor), a married father of two. Co-starring in the pilot are Lost alum Perrineau, Kathryn Fiore, Jenny Wade and Derek Miller.

This Canadian PSA for skin cancer awareness sends a powerful message about what it means to be an adult, reflecting on the past and realizing there’s so much you needed to say before it was too late. It features a cast of survivors openly addressing themselves when they were 16, and it’s pretty inspirational. And while it’s 5 minutes long, but kind of hard to tear yourself away from, thanks especially to the very hot guy who is a part of it. Take a look: This campaign is sort of like the reverse “It Gets Better” campaign for cancer awareness. Like, “Hey kids! Enjoy your lives while you still have it, because eventually you will succumb to the single disease taking away more lives than anything else.” It’s a powerful PSA certainly, and has made me especially paranoid about moles on the soles of my feet. Though let...

A lot can happen in a year. In 2010, Alexis Krauss and her bandmate Derek Miller (otherwise known as Sleigh Bells) attended Austin's South By Southwest music festival as one of the most hyped bands, even though they had only been together for a few months. They earned high praise for their electric live shows (of which there were many) and left with the highest honor one may earn from a stint at SXSW: Even more buzz.
Sleigh Bells are returning to Austin this year, this time with an LP (2010's excellent Treats), a handful of tours and — perhaps most importantly — some mtvU Woodie nominations under their belt. In addition to their chances of collecting an award for Breaking Woodie, Krauss and Miller will make their television debut at Wednesday night' (March 16) Woodies broadcast, as they'll be performing "Riot Rhythm" at the show.

Over the years, Diplo has worked with everyone from Thom Yorke to Spank Rock (and, of course, M.I.A.) so perhaps it should come as no surprise that, for his next collaboration, he's chosen to work with none other than Beyoncé. Oh, and electro-slammers Sleigh Bells, too. It all makes sense, in some bizarre way.
This is according to Dip himself, who posted a message — and a remix of the Sleigh Bells track "Tell 'Em" — on his blog, in which he let it be known that he, his production partner Switch and Sleigh Bells' songwriter/guitarist Derek Miller just wrapped sessions for Beyoncé's follow-up to I Am ... We got a lot of TV casting news going on today so let’s get to it. A few names I haven’t heard in awhile are making the rounds such as Adrian Pasdar from Heroes, he is showing up on an episode of Castle. Adrian Pasdar is heading to ‘Castle.’ The ‘Heroes’ star will play an Eric Fallon, an FBI agent who assists the NYPD during a terrorist threat. Look for Pasdar in the Feb. 21 and 28 episodes. [TVLine]

In a slew of casting news coming out on Friday, December 17, Matt Dillon and Brian Austin Green's names have popped out. The former is heading to "Modern Family" as a guest star while the latter is the star of a new TBS pilot "The Wedding Band".
Dillon would play Julie Bowen's character's ex boyfriend. According to EW, Claire's ex has a new galpal and Claire is probably not going to like her because it's Claire's mom, DeDe Pritchett. This means Shelley Long will reprise her role as DeDe. No other details including air date have been announced.
The casting, at the same time, proves that Claire and Phil have in the past dated attractive people before finding each other and getting married. Judy Greer previously dropped by to play Phil's ex Denise.
Meanwhile, Green is going to team up with "Lost" alum Harold Perrineau in the hourlong comedy...

Treats, the full-length debut of Brooklyn duo Sleigh Bells, was birthed into a post-audiophile world. The group’s guitarist-songwriter-producer Derek Miller could’ve reacted to this fact by crafting a meticulous, highly orchestrated LP along the lines of acclaimed efforts by his borough-mates Grizzly Bear or Dirty Projectors. Instead, Miller flipped the script. Apparently he feels that if even the most fervent Sleigh Bells fan is going to bump Treats on tinny laptop speakers rather than a decent stereo system, it might as well sound like it’s pushing into the red either way. The blown-out sonics of tracks like ...

Sleigh Bells ring, are you listening? Treats, the debut effort from noise-rock newcomers Sleigh Bells, is the logical conclusion of the loudness war; it manages to challenge basic assumptions of how music can (and should) sound. You either buy the Brookyln duo’s central conceit or you don’t: bombastic synth-rock for bombast’s sake, with mixing cranked so high your speakers sound like they’re about to combust. It’s a preposterous juxtposition—Alexis Krauss’ way-past-sweet vocals as the sugary glaze on Derek Miller’s gritty and serrated riffing and beats—until the soaring power chords of opener and single “Tell ‘Em” kick off the album with...

Toronto -- Tina Keeper ("North of 60"), Don Burnstick, Jennifer Baxter and Blues musician Derek Miller have joined the second season cast of the Canadian TV soap "Cashing In" from Animiki See Digital Productions and Buffalo Gal Pictures.
They join a returning cast for the Aptn half-hour dramedy about a fictional First Nations-run gambling palace in Manitoba that includes Eric Schweig, Wesley French, Karen Holness, Glen Gould and Sarah Podemski.
The comic series has found cult status by portraying aboriginal Canadians as sexy and wealthy in a modern casino setting, rather than telling traditional stories in Canada's Great White North.

Some people cringe when you refer to the web as a development ground (or minor leagues) for TV. And rightly so, the moniker is too limiting for what amounts to a super-fragemented online community of millions of avid surfers. Not every web series is meant for TV. That doesn't stop network development execs from scouring video sites for the latest tweet-worthy vids. With tonight's premiere of Secret Girlfriend on Comedy Central, we have the latest data point to test the development lab theory. What started as a mobile phone series, that was later released as a web series through Atomic Wedgie, was able to catch the eye of development execs enough to order up six half-hour episodes. The show's creators, Jay Rondot and Ross Novie, have been at the online content game for a while, finding some success with their series The Rascal for Sony's Crackle as well as the...
