Watching the show Toddlers and Tiaras is bound to make some folks cringe and even cause their blood to boil a bit since the whole idea of dressing kids up to make them look ‘sexier’ is bound to irk a lot of parents. But whatever the long-term effects are it would appear that they haven’t really touched Eden Wood, one of the stars of the show, since she’s been doing quite well since her time on the program. From being a runway model to having her own show for a season and maintaining a 4.0 Gpa in school it sounds

Review by Peter BelsitoFor the past 25 years acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Lauren Greenfield has travelled the world, documenting with ethnographic precision and an artist’s sensitivity a vast range of cultural movements and moments.
Yet, after so much seeking and searching, she realized that much of her work pointed at one uniting phenomenon: wealth culture. With her new film, Generation Wealth, she puts the pieces of her life’s work together for in an incendiary investigation into the pathologies that have created the richest society the world has ever seen.
Spanning consumerism, beauty, gender, body commodification, aging and more, Greenfield has created a comprehensive cautionary tale about a culture heading straight for the cliff’s edge. Generation Wealth, simultaneously a deeply personal journey, rigorous historical essay, and raucously entertaining expose, bears witness to the global boom-bust economy, the corrupted American Dream and the human costs of capitalism, narcissism and greed.

Tonight on Toddlers & Tiaras, former star Eden Wood is back as a judge — and she’s All grown up. The 11-year-old became a sensation after she first appeared on the TLC show back in 2009. At the time she was just four, and she captured the public’s imagination with her unimaginably cute looks. She retired from pageants when she was just six, but was so popular that she later starred in her own spin-off show Eden’s World, where she helped other potential child beauty queens compete in pageants. She also later starred as Darla in Universal Pictures’ direct-to-video movie The...read more...

"The things that I loved most was just getting on stage and performing, and showing everybody what I can do," Eden recalls. "It was such a great experience that led into all this other stuff that I've done."
While she has fond memories of dominating the pageant circuit, she says there's one part she can do without.

You've heard of "momagers," but how about "momsters"?
Former "Toddler & Tiaras" star Eden Wood's mother Mickie Wood is being called just that and more by her daughter's former manager, who has written a "tell all" book that contains some disturbing allegations.
Heather Ryan alleges in her self-published e-book, "Unleashing A Momster: A Look Behind The Curtain At The Tragic Life of America's Most Successful Child Pageant Star," that Eden endured verbal abuse and physical neglect at the hands of her mother.
Mickie Wood told The Huffington Post in a statement, "These allegations are untrue and I am very sad and disappointed that Eden's former manager would be publishing such false and defamatory material."
According to Star magazine (May 6, print issue), Ryan writes that Mickie turned out to be "lying, jealous, demanding and evil to the core." She goes on to claim that her former employer put pageant competitions above Eden's health,...

No, these moms don’t ingest inedible substances, modify their bodies or stockpile rations for the apocalypse or the hell of it like their category brethren. But their propensity for putting false teeth, hair and eyelashes, tons of makeup and awfully grown-up costumes worth several mortgage payments on their little bitty kids helped Toddlers & Tiaras take our “Most Extreme” crown. The series made a minor star of pageant stand-out Eden Wood, and a pop culture phenomenon of Alana Thompson — Aka “Honey Boo Boo Child” — who scored herself her own TLC series even if she never took home the [...]...

A common refrain of stage moms on the TLC reality show Toddlers & Tiaras is that the glitz pageants they put their kids through are a great way to build their confidence, and provide a path to make their make-up slathered toddler a star. Toddlers & Tiaras's Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson has become the series latest breakout figure with her own hit reality show that has spurred heated debates on TV and online, but before there was Honey Boo Boo, there was Eden Wood. Wood is former a pint-sized pageant girl (she retired at age 6) who won numerous titles.several which were featured on Toddlers & Tiaras--and has her own self-named reality spin-off series Eden's World. And now she's taking her next step to stardom with a starring role in a new Little Rascals movie. Check out Eden in action below: Universal's Home Entertainment division is producing a straight-to-dvd movie that will...

Universal has announced plans to once again update The Little Rascals, the series of Hal Roach-produced Our Gang shorts that so lifted the spirits of the nation in the early 20th century with their hilarious, adorable exploitation of child labor. Fittingly, the only confirmed star as yet for this, the first revival of the franchise since Penelope Spheeris' 1994 film, is 7-year-old Eden Wood, who was whelped in the same Toddlers & Tiaras mill that produced Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Unfortunately, while Wood's own spinoff, Eden's World, similarly succeeded in providing the all-important schadenfreude that comes from watching ...

While the aggressively discomforting exploits seen within TLC's reality show “Toddlers and Tiaras” only continues to grow in popularity, it may require a moment to remember other children-centered projects that don't immediately elicit a worried reaction. However, thanks surely to the success of 'Tiaras,' one of its most prominent starlets will lead a new "The Little Rascals" remake, just shy of twenty years after Penelope Spheeris' 1994 film. THR reports Eden Wood, Aka The One That Isn't Honey Boo Boo, has signed on to portray the role of Darla in the latest “Little Rascals” film, derived originally from producer Hal Roach's '20s and '30s B&W shorts. Wood, who like Ms. Boo was featured in her own spin-off entitled “Eden's World,” will count the part as her first cinematic foray, letting Dtv director Alex Zamm (“Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2”) attempt to scrounge some magic from...

Remaking The Little Rascals is certainly an idea. But bringing in Toddlers & Tiaras's 7-year-old Eden Wood — star of her own spin-off, Eden’s World — as the eye of Spanky's affection? Well, that's another thing. Luckily for those whose blood is currently rising to a rage-boil, this new work of cinema is a straight-to-dvd endeavor and therefore probably easily avoidable. Or easily embraceable — no judgment. As in, don't tell anyone you bought this, and then no one will judge you.
