If the original Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey, as the exact same movie, had been made in Italy during the ‘70s, it’s just the sort of film Quentin Tarantino would be hailing as a lost masterpiece today.

The makers of Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey 1 & 2 are at work on another twisted take on A.A. Milne’s children’s story.
The prolific low-budget genre labels Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Films have unveiled plans to swing their bloody axe again with Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, a slasher horror pic set to shoot this year ahead of a 2025 release.
“It will be complete carnage. We are heavily influenced by Freddy Vs Jason and The Avengers. We would love to see a horror movie where the villains group together and are going after their survivors. We have some incredible set pieces in mind and some sequences I think will truly shock people,” Jagged Edge producer Rhys Frake-Waterfield said in a statement.

Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble will bring together horror versions of Pooh, Peter Pan, Bambi, & more
Made on a budget of less than $100,000, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (watch it Here) earned more than $6 million during its global release in early 2023, so the sequel Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is set to receive a three-day theatrical run in the United States on March 26, 27, and 28th, courtesy of Fathom Events, ITN Studios, and Jagged Edge Productions. (Tickets can be purchased online at Fathom Events or at participating theatre box offices.) We’ve previously heard that Frake-Waterfield and producer Scott Jeffrey Chambers are planning to create a cinematic universe with the Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey films and other horror movies inspired by children’s stories, like Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, Bambi: The Reckoning, and Pinocchio Unstrung. Now Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios have officially announced that this cinematic universe, which is being referred to as The Twisted Childhood Universe,...

Ah, the magic of the public domain. The arch nemesis of studios and corporations and copyright lawyers everywhere is nothing but a boon to the rest of us, allowing literally anyone to get their hands on famous properties and shamelessly twist and pervert them beyond all recognition. That's precisely what happened with the beloved character of Winnie the Pooh just over two years ago, allowing for a slew of knockoff (and frankly terrible) B-movie horror flicks like "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" and its upcoming sequel. Well, things are about to kick into another gear entirely as an entire shared universe is apparently now in the works.
Just when you thought it was safe to visit the Hundred Acre Wood again. In the bloodiest and most un-family-friendly news we'll probably get this week, Variety revealed that the creative team responsible for "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" is now...

Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 hits theaters March 26, 27, 28th from Fathom Events, a sequel to last year’s viral hit that ended up making nearly $5 million at the box office. ITN Studios & Jagged Edge Productions are all-in on their “Twisted Childhood Universe,” but what’s the end game? As it turns out, they’re planning an Avengers-style mashup.
For starters, the growing “Twisted Childhood Universe” will feature previously announced stand-alone films Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare and Pinocchio Unstrung and introduce new characters such as Sleeping Beauty, The Mad Hatter, and Rabbit from Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey.
All of these characters will come together in Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble in 2025 when the monsters join forces to take down the world.
Blood and Honey 2‘s end credits will feature a first look at the upcoming Poohniverse.
Producer of Jagged Edge Productions Rhys Frake-Waterfield explains, “It will be complete carnage.

Six years after “Avengers: Infinity War,” another film is vying to become the most ambitious crossover event in history, this time in the lower-budget cinematic realm.
The filmmakers behind “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” — the micro-budget slasher that sparked headlines for turning A. A. Milne’s jovial bear into a feral serial killer and made an incredible $5.2 million at the box office after costing under $50,000 to make — have unveiled “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble,” bringing together Pooh and various other beloved children’s characters gone bad.
Where “Avengers: Infinity War” had Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Panther and Thanos, “Poohniverse” — from prolific horror collaborators Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios — will team Winnie the Pooh with murderous versions of figures including Bambi, Tinkerbell, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tigger, Piglet, The Mad Hatter and Sleeping Beauty for an IP-bludgeoning frenzy due for release in 2025. The Star Wars franchise is recognized as one of the most iconic and culturally significant film series ever produced. It has not only achieved mainstream success but has also attained a unique and unparalleled status in the realm of media. Made on a budget of less than $100,000, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey (watch it Here) earned more than $6 million during its global release earlier this year – so of course we’re getting a sequel, which is going by the title Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, very soon. A specific release date hasn’t been announced yet, but today a batch of character posters have arrived online, and you can check those out at the bottom of this article. The posters feature Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Owl, and Tigger.

Ready for another twisted tale? Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey II promises to be bigger, better and bloodier than the first film, with a higher budget allowing for both brand new creature designs and a higher kill count. Jagged Edge Productions previews those new creature designs in a series of character posters today.
Meet the team’s twisted takes on Piglet, Owl and Tigger below, along with the new look for their Winnie the Pooh slasher. The posters were debuted by Dread Central today.
Frake-Waterfield had teased the upcoming sequel last year, “This time Pooh and friends will be leaving the 100 Acre Wood to take their fight to the quiet community of Ashdown!”
Here’s the official synopsis:
“Deep within the 100-Acre-Wood, a destructive rage grows as Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Owl, and Tigger find their home and their lives endangered after Christopher Robin revealed their existence. Not...

Winnie the Pooh entered the public domain in 2022, and director Rhys Frake-Waterfield immediately took full advantage. His 2023 movie "Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey" was a slasher film where an adult Christopher Robin finds himself being hunted down by his old childhood friends, Winnie and Piglet. It's a gory nightmare of a movie made popular by the gimmick of having its killers be the sweet, cuddly characters we've all grown up loving.
The movie was not well-received by critics, mainly because it doesn't offer a whole lot beyond the initial shock value of its premise. As /Film's own Witney Seibold put it in his review, "'Blood and Honey' will disappoint fans of Pooh, fans of irony, and fans of horror. Don't bother." But despite the movie's 3% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it was still a clear-cut financial success, making $5 million at the international box office despite its reported budget of under $100,000. As promised, a sequel to this year’s Winnie the Pooh slasher movie is on the way, and in fact, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is already in production!
The Hollywood Reporter shares the first images from the upcoming Blood and Honey sequel this morning, which preview the return of the murderous incarnation of Pooh.
The sequel will also feature the characters Christopher Robin, Piglet, and Owl.
THR notes, “Currently in production, the sequel comes with a bigger budget, more kills and even an Olivier Award-winning, BAFTA-nominated star in the form of Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral), who has joined the cast.”
“Bigger and Badder. The sequel will feature new creature designs, a new cast, and a high death count,” said writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield. “However, this time Pooh and friends will be leaving the 100 Acre Wood to take their fight to the quiet community of Ashdown!

What does Mycroft actually do in the government? What’s it like to work with Tom Cruise? And is there any Doctor Who role he hasn’t played? Ask all this and more of the actor and writer
If you were going to invite anyone to your fantasy dinner party table, actor and writer Mark Gatiss would be perfect. A horror movie about a cannibalistic Winnie-the-Pooh is making quite an impression overseas.
The film from director Rhys Frake-Waterfield is proving to be an extremely bankabale hit following its debut in Mexico.
Despite having what has been described as an “ultra-low” budget, the film – titled Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey – made just under 1m (£827.4m) at the box office weeks before it’s released in other countries, including the UK, US and Japan.
In Blood and Honey, Winnie and another Milne character, Piglet, go on a “cannibalistic rampage” after being abandoned by Christopher Robin

The Pooh domination has begun.
While all eyes may currently be on Skinamarink as the microbudget horror film of the moment, with a box office approaching 2 million off a 15,000 budget, another movie is already breathing menacingly down its neck.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, the super-low-budget British slasher from director Rhys Frake-Waterfield that became a viral sensation last year for its childhood-bludgeoning premise, released in theaters in Mexico on Jan. 26 and has so far amassed more than 950,000 in that one territory alone over two weekends.
The film is due for release globally on Feb. 15, but its ongoing momentum — one that recently saw it come second on IMDb’s list of the most anticipated films of 2023 — has already seen Fathom Events expand its U.S. launch from what would have been a one-day event to a full launch across some 1,500 sites over at least nine days. It’s also due for theatrical releases in the U.

I've heard of just about every kind of killer animal movie in my time, from hordes of ravenous rats to the mutton monsters of "Black Sheep," but a killer deer is a new one. According to Dread Central, the team behind the demented "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" are tackling the beloved story of "Bambi," but with their signature sickening twist. ITN Studios and Jagged Eye Productions will be making "Bambi: The Reckoning," giving the story of the fawn who loses his mother a horror update.

No beloved childhood character is safe. If transforming Winne the Pooh into a slasher villain wasn’t enough for you, then you should prepare yourself for The Mean One, a “violent slasher parody” inspired by Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The unofficial take on the Christmas classic will actually be released in theaters as Atlas Film Distribution announced today that the Grinch horror movie would hit theaters in the U.S. on December 9th.

It was previously reported that The Mean One would be released online for free, which was understandable given its unofficial status, but it would appear that they’re embracing the parody aspect of the production. Directed by Steven Lamorte with a script by Flip and Finn Kobler, The Mean One stars David Howard Thornton (Terrifier 2) as “a hairy, green-skinned grump in a Santa suit,...

When author A. A. Milne and illustrator E. H. Shepard created their 1926 children's book "Winnie-the-Pooh," one assumes it never crossed their minds that the titular character and his neighbors in the Hundred Acre Wood would be re-imagined as sadistic killers nearly 100 years later.
Inspired by the real-life teddy bear and other toy animals owned by A.A. Milne's son Christopher Robin Milne, the "Winnie the Pooh" franchise was synonymous with wholesome family entertainment up until 2022. Spanning books, stage plays, radio shows, films, and TV series both animated and live-action, "Winnie the Pooh" centers on the daily activities of the titular honey-loving bear. A naive yet gentle creature, Pooh spends most of his time learning valuable life lessons while getting in and out of trouble with his friends. Their ranks include the plucky Piglet, anxious Rabbit, downbeat Eeyore, boisterous Tigger, and their sole human companion: An ever-patient, soft-spoken boy by the name of Christopher Robin.

When a major studio film goes viral before its release, it can be something of a mixed blessing. Has it taken off online because it’s being widely ridiculed? Have hundreds of thousands of people across the world gone on social media to relentlessly mock the weird appearance of your anthropomorphic ring-loving blue hedgehog or pour scorn over your decision to hire Chris Pratt to voice your mustached, dungaree-wearing Italian plumber? All publicity may reportedly be good publicity, but any unexpected noise will almost certainly have the number-crunchers fearing a potential box office hiccup.

After A.A. Milne’s beloved children’s classic Winnie-the-Pooh entered the public domain at the beginning of the year, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield was quick to jump on the opportunity by transforming the iconic characters of the Hundred Acre Wood into slasher villains. It seems that Frake-Waterfield isn’t done mining our public domain childhoods, as THR reports that his next project will be a twisted horror take on Peter Pan.
We don’t know much about the Peter Pan horror movie, only that it will be titled Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare. As for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, the upcoming film has gotten quite a lot of attention since it was first announced. In fact, the increased interest has enabled Rhys Frake-Waterfield to expand the production with additional shots as well as develop a Blood and Honey sequel. The movie will also be released across hundreds of theaters across the U.

In fact, the increased interest has enabled Rhys Frake-Waterfield to expand the production with additional shots as well as develop a Blood and Honey sequel. The movie will also be released across hundreds of theaters across the U.

You better have his honey because Winnie the Pooh is coming from you.
The gruesome trailer for Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s twisted take on childhood classic Winnie the Pooh revealed the bear’s true animalistic tendencies. “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” centers on Pooh (Craig David Dowsett) and Piglet (Chris Cordell), who have survived years without food as Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon) grew up and forgot about them. The duo gorge on Eeyore, only for Christopher to then introduce them to his new wife without realizing they have gotten “increasingly hungry and feral” since he was away.
“They get enraged when they see him, and all of their hatred that they’ve built up over the years unleashes and they go on this rampage,” director Frake-Waterfield explained during Dread Central’s “Development Hell” podcast. “It’s definitely Pooh and Piglet — it’s not just two people in a mask. Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh, willy, silly, old bear is coming for you! One imagines that the filmmakers behind Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey would absolutely love to include lyrics like those above in their new Winnie the Pooh slasher movie. It’d be as if Disneyland’s Main Street intersected with Freddy Kreuger’s Elm! However, for much of the same reason that “Winnie-the-Pooh” is nigh unrecognizable in the Blood and Honey trailer, there’s a reason you’ll never hear the above riff on the iconic song in the new movie: the filmmakers behind Blood and Honey legally aren’t allowed to use it.
Indeed, the below Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey trailer hit the internet like a ton of bricks Wednesday morning when it revealed relatively modest (and formulaic) scares going down in the Hundred Acre Wood, with Winnie and his pal Piglet hunting and seemingly...

Not even Christopher Robin is safe from a feral Winnie the Pooh in the first trailer for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.
As previously reported, the direct-to-vod slasher flick will see the “tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff” take an extremely dark turn after being abandoned by a college-aged Christopher Robin. Because he and Piglet have had to fend for themselves in Christopher’s absence, “they’ve essentially become feral, so they’ve gone back to their animal roots” and are “no longer tame,” writer/director Rhys Waterfield told our sister pub Variety. “They’re like a vicious...

Despite the word “Ends” literally being in the title, John Carpenter is saying the next Halloween movie might not be the final film in the franchise after all.
“In a recent interview with The New Yorker, Halloween franchise creator John Carpenter claims that Halloween Ends may not be the last installment. The trailer for Halloween Ends debuted last month, giving die-hard fans a teaser of what to expect for the upcoming film. Carpenter, who is behind the slasher saga, spoke about potentially growing the franchise and adding more sequels. He told the publication, ‘If a movie makes enough money, you can be assured that it will [get a sequel].’ When asked if Halloween Ends would be the final film in the franchise, Carpenter did not give a definitive answer, ‘I will have to see how much money it makes!'”

Pooh and Piglet get into a bloody mess in the upcoming honey-filled indie horror flick Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.
A nearly two-minute trailer dropped on Wednesday of director Rhys Waterfield’s unexpected and now anticipated horror retelling of A. A. Milne’s 1926 famed collection of children’s short stories.
In the first look, Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon) has returned to the 100-acre wood to introduce his soon-to-be-wife Mary (Paula Coiz) to his anthropomorphic animal childhood friends. But the place where he once played with the likes of Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and more, has become a dark, abandoned nightmare.
Despite Mary’s pleas for them to leave, Christopher declares, “I really need to find out what’s happened here.” What he discovers is the frightening outcome of years of abandonment. As Christopher’s visits became more infrequent, his friends grew more hungry.

A.A. Milne’s 1926 children’s book Winnie-the-Pooh and the characters in it lapsed into the public domain at the start of this year – and as soon as that happened, writer/director Rhys Frake-Waterfield was right there to take advantage of their public domain status. For his feature debut, Frake-Waterfield has dropped the iconic characters of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet into a slasher called Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. A trailer for the film has now been released, and you can watch it in the embed above.
Frake-Waterfield explained to Variety that Pooh and Piglet

Because they’ve had to fend for themselves so much, they’ve essentially become feral. So they’ve gone back to their animal roots.

Earlier this year, the internet went absolutely nuts when a series of images from an upcoming horror movie started making the rounds. They depicted Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, the beloved creations of one Mr. A.A. Milne, going on a murderous rampage in a low-budget horror film. The most shocking part? This was a very real movie that is indeed coming our way sooner rather than later. As further evidence of that, the first trailer for "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey" has arrived!
To say the very least of it, this is not your Disney-fied version of Pooh bear and his pals. This is a low-budget, grizzly, B horror movie take on the character that is only being made possible because the early works of Milne entered the public domain recently. Let's take a gander.

The first official trailer of the forthcoming slasher film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey has been released, turning the usual animated cuddly bear into a murderous hunter.
It was first announced in May – to mixed fan reactions – that the beloved childhood character would receive a sinister makeover from director Rhys Waterfield.
In the newest trailer, Christopher Robin (Nikolai Leon) can be seen returning to the 100 Acre Woods to reunite with his “friends” Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore.
However, after having “been abandoned” they “ have turned wild” and are now on the prowl.
Scenes cut between an eerie message written in blood on a cabin window warning a group of girls to “get out”, Pooh hitting a girl in the head with a sledgehammer, and blood streaming down another girl’s face.
“We used to be friends, why are you doing this?” Christopher Robin asks. “I would have never left I swear.

"Why are you doing this?! Please!!" Time for something extra crazy. An official trailer has been unveiled for the film known as Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, a twisted and violent slasher horror involving everyone's favorite bear. This ain't Disney's Pooh, this is straight out of Hell, and it's quite freaky. How did they make this movie, you ask?! Well, Winnie the Pooh, created by author A.A. Milne and illustrator E.H. Shepard, went into the public domain this year meaning anyone can adapt and use the character any way they wish right now. Blood and Honey follows the lovable Pooh and Piglet as they go on a rampage after Christopher Robin abandons them. It stars Amber Doig-Thorne, Maria Taylor, May Kelly, Danielle Scott, and Craig David Dowsett as the vengeful. This seems like your standard slasher flick spiced up with some Winnie the Pooh madness. Maybe this will be fun to watch?...

"In dark times, small things remind us of our humanity." Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for a movie titled White Bird: A Wonder Story, which is actually a sort-of sequel, more of a spin-off, from the Wonder movie a few years ago starring Jacob Tremblay & Julia Roberts. Based on the graphic novel of the same name, this one tells a harrowing WWII survival story. The film is about Julian as he meets his French grandmother, then going back in time as Grandmère tells her heartrending story: how she, a young Jewish girl, was hidden by a family in a Nazi-occupied French village during World War II; how the boy she and her classmates once shunned became her savior and best friend. From Marc Forster (director of Finding Neverland and Christopher Robin) White Bird, like Wonder before it, is an emotional story about the ways that even in the most harrowing circumstances,...

When people aspire to succeed, it can sometimes result in quite incredible tales of fighting the odds to achieve victory. However, some stories of real-life achievement are not always as clear cut and blissful in their nature. And back in the mid-20s, when Winnie-the-Pooh was first released into a post-WW2 world, the story of its author A. A. Milne and its inspiration (his young son Christopher Robin Milne and his Teddy Edward) went a little lost, as the books and the character became some of the most cherished in all of children’s literature. In fact, I was not aware at all of the details of the story behind 100-Acre Wood and Winnie The Pooh and his friends but this new film from Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn) arrives to tell that very tale…and not everything is as sweet as honey that’s for sure.

The sunlight is dappled with darkness in the story of AA Milne’s famous creation and its effect on the son who inspired him
With its bittersweet interweaving of fact and fantasy, youthful innocence and adult trauma, this tale of the creation of a children’s classic could have been called Saving Mr Milne. Like Mary Poppins, Winnie-the-Pooh occupies a sacred space in our hearts and anyone wishing to co-opt some of that magic must tread very lightly indeed. Director Simon Curtis’s movie could easily have tripped (like Piglet) and burst its balloon as it evokes a dappled glade of happiness surrounded by the monstrous spectres of two world wars. Instead, it skips nimbly between light and dark, war and peace, like a young boy finding his way through an English wood, albeit one drenched with shafts of sugary, Spielbergian light.

The story of AA Milne’s difficult relationship with his son is a bizarrely clenched and twee heritage drama that wallows in misery
The John Lewis Christmas TV ad has come early and it’s a nightmare. Domhnall Gleeson and Margot Robbie put on fraightfully upmarket English accents and stand around like tailor’s dummies in this bizarrely clenched and infantilised tragedy-twee heritage drama about AA Milne’s fraught relationship with his son Christopher Robin.
The poor, bewildered little moppet got roped into the Winnie the Pooh publicity machine as the books’ popularity exploded in the 1920s.
