Mayim Bialik has been accused of victim blaming for an op-ed she penned about the allegations of sexual misconduct against Harvey Weinstein.
In the New York Times article titled “Being a Feminist in Harvey Weinstein’s World,” the Big Bang Theory star wrote that she has “experienced the upside of not being a ‘perfect 10.’ ”
“As a proud feminist with little desire to diet, get plastic surgery or hire a personal trainer, I have almost no personal experience with men asking me to meetings in their hotel rooms,” Bialik said. “Those of us in Hollywood who don’t represent an impossible...

Lucy Hale‘s bold brows have become an iconic part of the Pretty Little Liars star’s signature look. While many of us need to fake a fuller brow with the help of eyebrow pencils, pomades and powders, Hale is one of the lucky few that was born with beautiful thick eyebrows. Ever wonder where she gets them from? Well, it looks like bold brows run in the family. Based on Hale’s latest post on Instagram, it looks like the actress inherited her full arches from her dad!

When you think of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's golden era, you probably think of Lucille Ball. The actress was best known for her starring role on the iconic TV show I Love Lucy alongside her real-life husband, Desi Arnaz, but she was so much more than that. In addition to being remarkably beautiful, Lucy was incredibly fierce and determined in a time when those qualities weren't as welcomed in women. She grew up in Jamestown, NY, before fleeing to the city to chase her dreams of performing. She eventually settled in California, where she became a star. Lucy was a boss (albeit sometimes hard to work with), never took no for an answer, and wanted things done her way. She helped pave the way for women in Hollywood and is still such a resilient and positive force in Hollywood (and comedy) today, more than 28 years after her death.

Elizabeth Banks was in Hollywood last night at the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards to receive an honor for excellence in feature directing, and she used her time on stage to put none other than Steven Spielberg on blast.
Criticizing the director for his lack of female characters in lead roles, Banks said, “I went to ‘Indiana Jones’ and ‘Jaws’ and every movie Steven Spielberg ever made…he’s never made a movie with a female lead. Sorry, Steven. I don’t mean to call your ass out, but it’s true.”

It’s important to note that Banks’ statement isn’t completely true. Spielberg’s theatrical feature debut “The Sugarland Express” features Goldie Hawn in the lead role, while other efforts like “The Color Purple” and “The Bfg” were also centered around lead actresses.

If you want to suck the blood of the youth, YouTube is a great place to start: Enter “Mina Murray’s Journal,” a 21st century update of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula,” drawing final blood just in time for Halloween.
Told as a series of vlogs — or video journals, as Mina insists on calling them — the new web series puts Mina Murray center stage, giving her the unfortunate task of visiting Dracula’s mansion in Bucharest, rather than her fiancée (updated to boyfriend) Jonathan. Writer-director James Moran wisely makes use of the novel’s epistolary structure in his adaptation, and the episodes flow naturally between Mina’s vlogs and those made by the three secondary characters: Lucy, Jonathan and Jack. Moran takes liberties with the novel’s plot by centering female characters and playing up Lucy’s romantic interest in Mina, but it’s a welcome revision that honors the spirit of its source material.

Lucille Ball is set for a major biopic, with Cate Blanchett starring as the legendary actress and Aaron Sorkin lined up to write the script.
The movie, which is being produced by Ball's two children Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr, will follow the star's career and 20-year marriage to I Love Lucy co-star Desi Arnaz.
The Wrap was first to report this story.
The story of Lucille Ball has been attempted before with two TV movies: 2003's Lucy and 1991's Lucy & Desi.
As well as famed sitcom I Love Lucy, Ball also starred in The Lucy–Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy and Life with Lucy.
The actress began her career in the late-1920s. She passed away of an abdominal aortic dissection in 1989 at the age of 77.

Here’s an enticing prospect: Cate Blanchett starring as Lucille Ball? It could happen, as production company Escape Artists is looking to put together a biopic package that includes Blanchett starring as the entertainment icon and a script that has Aaron Sorkin’s brand of wordplay. The Hollywood Reporter’s story mentions that Sorkin hasn’t definitely signed on yet, but Ball’s story is surely a tempting draw for the writer, particularly since he could use an outlet to demonstrate he can write great female characters after criticisms on projects such as The Social Network and The Newsroom. The actress and producer was a driving force alongside then husband Desi Arnaz for shows such as I Love Lucy, The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here’s Lucy and Life With Lucy. Before her TV stardom, she worked extensively in film and is still regarded as a comedy legend.
