Last year, the Disney+ series "Ahsoka" took us to an entirely new galaxy in the "Star Wars" universe. It was there that we found Ezra Bridger, the missing Jedi hero, and Grand Admiral Thrawn, the plotting villain that Ezra disappeared with at the end of "Star Wars Rebels" (but had a long history in "Star Wars" before that). Along with seeing Thrawn's smug blue face in live-action, we also met a new villain named Captain Enoch, a unique golden-faced stormtrooper who leads a new contingent of terrifying stormtroopers known as Night Troopers. Basically zombified versions of the classic white-clad combatants, these troopers have dirty, cracked armor and accents of red, gray, and gold sporadically wrapped, splashed, and cracked on their signature gear.

This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: The Bad Batch" season 3, episode 6 and episode 7, "Infiltration" and "Extraction."
This week brought two brand new episodes of "The Bad Batch," a larger story in the context of the season's overarching narrative. Though the Bad Batch features prominently in these two episodes, dozens of other Clones take center stage as we learn that Captain Rex has been building an entire cadre of Clones to fight the Empire. Rex has even managed to catch one of the mysterious Clone sleeper agents created by the Empire alive. Unable to get any information out of him, however, Rex and his crew have no idea there's a homing beacon inside the Clone, leading the Empire right to them.
Meanwhile, the Bad Batch answers Rex's call, unaware they're being hunted as well. As more and more Clones on both sides of the conflict arrive at Rex's secret hideout,...

Daisy Ridley is set to reprise her role of Rey for a new Star Wars movie directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and the actress shared a few insights about the project while speaking with Deadline.
While Ridley said that she’s still waiting to read a script, she did say that she knows “bit and bobs,” including that there will be “an introduction of new characters.” When asked if any previous characters would be reprising their roles, such as John Boyega as Finn or Adam Driver as the ghost of Kylo Ren, Ridley said she didn’t know. Another character who fans might expect to see is Luke Skywalker, but Mark Hamill hasn’t heard anything. “Everything is confidential,” Hamill said. “So, If I were involved, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. And if I were not involved, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. So, I don’t know.

"Star Wars" is a story for kids. There's no denying that. While the scripts written for the films are not the best or most nuanced ever written, they still offer something unique to audiences. Watching Anakin Skywalker's (Hayden Christensen) journey through the prequels may have been the first time many a kid experienced a character they liked turning to evil. The fallen Jedi redefined "Star Wars" as the prequel era turned the more simplistic good vs evil space fantasy story of the original trilogy into a complex (if not convoluted) tale with political intrigue and themes of corruption.
With the twin falls of Anakin and the Republic, "Star Wars" became a world where evil was not immediately recognizable or cartoonishly obvious, but one that hides in the shadows, in the hearts of good people who do nothing as institutions crumble away. Anakin showed the flaws of the Jedi, the flaws of humans,...

Star Wars officially explained why Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker had a cameo in Disney+'s Ahsoka finale.
Anakin's biggest role came in the fifth chapter as the famed Jedi guided his former Padawan through a series of Clone Wars flashbacks in the World Between Worlds, leading to valuable lessons and the pair even coming to blows.
He would later appear in Episode 7 as a hologram in a pre-recorded training video where he referenced three major The Clone Wars villains before coming to Ahsoka as a Force ghost in the season finale.

While "Star Wars" animation fans like myself will probably always be haunted wondering what might have been had "Ahsoka" been the animated "Star Wars Rebels" sequel series we always longed for, the first season of the live-action continuation we got has left the story of Ahsoka Tano in a decidedly interesting place. Picking things up from "The Mandalorian," the show has Anakin Skywalker's former Padawan (Rosario Dawson) reunite with her estranged pupil, Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), to continue their hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), in the hopes of both preventing him returning to reunite the scattered remnants of the Galactic Empire and recovering their lost friend Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi). Their subsequent adventure takes them to a completely different galaxy far, far away, bringing the pair face-to-face with fallen Jedi, Dathomirian witches, a graveyard of purrgil or "star whale" bones, and even zombie troopers.

Throughout this season of Ahsoka, the planet Peridea and the galaxy it lies in have maintained an intriguing air of mystery. When the Eye of Sion and its crew finally arrive in episode 6 “Far, Far, Away,” it’s revealed that the planet was once the ancient home of the Nightsisters – witchy Force-wielders that Lady Morgan Elsbeth descends from. Baylan Skoll also mentions the childrens stories of Peridea that he grew up hearing in the Jedi Temple to his apprentice Shin Hati before he leaves her in search of a greater power on the planet.
What this greater power is isn’t fully revealed until the final moments of the Ahsoka season finale “The Jedi, The Witch, and The Warlord,” when we see Baylan standing on the stone hand of a massive sculpture, suggesting that the Nightsisters weren’t the only Force-wielders that called...

Despite losing to Grand Admiral Thrawn and getting stranded on Peridia for the foreseeable future, Ahsoka and Sabine still somehow manage to end things on a high note. They’ve both learned from each other and grown throughout the season, and now they’re truly ready to believe in themselves and trust in each other. It’s really no surprise that Sabine is finally able to use the Force once she’s strengthened her connection with Ahsoka, who makes a master’s promise to always have her padawan’s back, no matter what.
It’s why despite everything that’s happened, Ahsoka and Sabine seem very much at peace with their grim circumstances at the end of the season. “Ezra is where he needs to be, and so are we,” Ahsoka tells her apprentice as they walk off to join their new friends,...

The Ahsoka finale, “The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord,” invites many questions. What exactly is the deal with the zombie Night Troopers? Why would a witch need a sword? What has been motivating ex-Jedi Baylan Skoll? Why does Grand Admiral Thrawn look so much like Elon Musk, when actor Lars Mikkelsen in real life does not resemble the owner of the social media network formerly known as Twitter?
Most importantly, though, is this: Exactly...

A lot transpires in the season 1 finale of "Ahsoka," which ends with a long-awaited homecoming, mingled with the ominous promise of a frightening masterplan in motion. Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) find a way to strengthen their bond while making sure that Ezra (Eman Esfandi) finally returns home, although they're unable to stop Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) from escaping to Dathomir. There are questions that still need answering, including the reason why Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) abandoned his padawan and chose to walk away in the heat of battle, only to appear standing on top of a pair of statues that resemble the Argonath from "The Lord of the Rings." While Baylan's motivations were shrouded in mystery from the get-go, the appearance of these statues makes matters more convoluted.

Perhaps no other film has shaped Hollywood like "Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope" has since 1977, which is not bad for a movie whose crew regarded it as a joke during production. George Lucas' epic saga of space wizards, space fascists, and plucky everyday heroes long ago in a galaxy far, far away was ground-breaking in its VFX, yet its story looked to the past. Drawing from a myriad of sources across different cultures and genres, Lucas wove a fairy tale as elemental as any in its depiction of the eternal war between the forces of darkness and light.
Due to its success, the cast of "Star Wars" would forever be associated first and foremost with their roles in the film, sometimes to the chagrin of the actors who had led long and illustrious careers before that. For the likes of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels,...

This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: Ahsoka" episode 8 — "The Jedi, The Witch, and the Warlord."
Well, the season finale of "Ahsoka" is somehow already here, and it definitely left us wanting more. That's not to say that episode 8, "The Jedi, The Witch and The Warlord," was lackluster or anticlimactic, necessarily. There was plenty of action and intrigue as Ahsoka teamed up with Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren on the planet Peridea to try and prevent Thrawn and his army of death troopers from escaping out of exile. Now that Thrawn has finally been introduced into live-action after appearing in "Star Wars Rebels" and multiple novels by Timothy Zahn, he was finally given the spotlight he truly deserves. Then, the credits rolled.
As the last few minutes of the finale came to pass, multiple threads popped up that were all incredibly compelling, suggesting that there is much more to come.

Spoiler Alert: This recap contains spoilers from the Season 1 finale of Disney+/Lucasfilm’s Ahsoka, directed by Rick Famuyiwa and written by Dave Filoni.
Heading into tonight’s Season 1 finale of Ahsoka, fans knew we were flying to a cliffhanger; that Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) would make the jump to hyperspace via the space loop while some portion of Ahsoka and friends would be left behind without a prayer in the midst of the green tundra tumbleweeds of Peridea in a galaxy far, far away.
What didn’t happen in this episode were any major cameos from Star Wars canon dramatis personae of yore, i.e., Princess Leia or Luke Skywalker or Boba Fett or Baby Yoda. No, we got our fill of that with C-3Po in the last episode, when he appeared to defend Hera’s rogue mission before the snarky Galactic council.
Where do we go from here?...

Disney’s Ahsoka premiered its seventh episode today, and it showcases a reunion between two of the fan-favorite characters in the show. The previous episode witnessed Sabine Wren finally meeting Ezra Bridgers, years after his disappearance, but she was still worried about Ahsoka. Moreover, Thrawn had sent his scouts Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati on the lookout for the Jedi and had instructed them to eliminate both when the chance arose. This episode ties up a lot of loose ends, but it leaves a lot more questions unanswered.

This post contains spoilers for episode 7 of "Ahsoka," "Dreams and Madness."
"A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack," Master Yoda advises a young Luke Skywalker in "The Empire Strikes Back." This line seems to be the foundation for the reason why the Jedi do not use the Force to fight as often as they can, and rely on their trusty lightsabers to do the job instead. However, during exceptional circumstances, some Jedi (and Sith) have relied upon a somewhat unique hand-to-hand force combat style to ward off foes. In the latest episode of "Ahsoka," Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) uses a similar combat style, relying solely on the Force to fend off an attack on his Noti friends, while Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) promptly takes the enemies down with her blaster and lightsaber.

This Star Wars: Ahsoka article contains spoilers.
From the beginning of the series, Ahsoka has been building up to the potential return of Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger, both of whom went missing at the end of Star Wars: Rebels. Episode 6 finally saw these characters return as Lady Morgan Elsbeth, Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, and Sabine Wren arrive at Peridea, the ancestral home of the Nightsisters and the planet that Thrawn and Ezra have been calling home for the last 10 years.
But now that we know they’re alive, an important question still remains – who will make it back home? With only two episodes left this season, and Ahsoka closing in on the planet, a major confrontation feels imminent between the former Jedi and Thrawn, a man whose return to forever change the trajectory of the New Republic.
With the fate of not one, but two galaxies hanging in the balance,...

Will Anakin Skywalker show up again in Disney+’s Ahsoka? Already-released footage may hold clues to the famed Jedi’s return.
Ahsoka has ticked a lot of boxes for Star Wars fans on the whole. But the episode that seemed to please audiences the most was Chapter 5, “Master and Apprentice,” where Hayden Christensen reprised Anakin Skywalker to teach Tano one more lesson.
The reaction to Chrstensen’s comeback as Skywalker went through the roof, and many have pondered whether lightning could strike twice with another guest spot from Anakin.

Ahsoka star Ariana Greenblatt, who played the titular Jedi in flashbacks, discussed her desire for a live-action Clone Wars show with co-star Hayden Christensen.
Fans of the much-loved animated program Star Wars: The Clone Wars got a special treat in Episode 5 of Ahsoka. The fifth installment of the hit Disney+ series contained extended flashbacks to the actual Clone Wars era, complete with younger versions of Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker.
Narratively speaking, these flashbacks served to teach the show’s title character one final Jedi lesson. But the reaction from fans to this visit to the ever-popular era in the franchise was through the roof.

“Something calls to me. Can’t you hear it? Something stirs here. Can’t you see it?” That line, uttered by the late actor Ray Stevenson in “Ahsoka” episode six, set the minds of “Star Wars” fans racing. Viewers have long been clued in to the fact that Stevenson’s character Baylan Skoll has his own secret agenda that doesn’t involve his tenuous allies Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto) or Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). Now that Baylan has reached Peridia, a mysterious planet in a distant galaxy, his secret plan might just be the biggest bombshell that the Disney+ series will drop on fans.
Baylan’s ambitions came into sharper focus this episode during a short conversation between the Force-user and his apprentice Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno). After she asks her master if he misses the fallen Jedi order, he scoffs. “I miss the idea of it, but not the truth,...

This post contains spoilers for "Ahsoka" episode 6, "Far, Far Away."
In "Ahsoka," Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) made a strong first impression when he slaughtered the crew of a New Republic vessel after posing as a Jedi with his disciple, Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno). This is not a case of basic impersonation, as Baylan used to be a Jedi while the Jedi Order thrived, and became disillusioned after surviving The Purge, turning into a mercenary-for-hire in later years. While Baylan and Shin are not Jedi, it is tricky to categorize them as Sith, especially after today's episode, where the former Jedi talks about his grand plan to end cyclical violence in the galaxy. While speaking about the ebb and flow of power, and the rise and fall of fascistic empires, Baylan expresses his desire to be something more by creating a galaxy devoid of this violent ouroboros.

Ahsoka Episode 6 saw Eman Esfandi‘s proper debut as a recast of Star Wars Rebels' Ezra Bridger.
It was an exciting prospect for fans to see what Rosario Dawson's titular Jedi has been up to since her cameo appearance in The Mandalorian Season 2 ahead of Ahsoka. But part of the promise of the series was getting to catch up with characters from the beloved animated Rebels series.
While audiences had seen the likes of Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and Grand Admiral Thrawn in the lead-up to the series, one name that had remained shrouded in mystery was the spunky, young Jedi Ezra Bridger.

This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: Ahsoka" episode 6 — "Far, Far Away"
In this episode of "Ahsoka," the Eye of Scion makes its way to Peridea, the fabled homeland of Witches of Dathomir and the graveyard of the purrgil an entire galaxy away. The Great Mother, a witch of Dathomir, greets Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto), Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson), Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno), and Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo). They were sending dreams and messages to Morgan Elsbeth to help her find her way to this planet and rescue Thrawn from his exile. Grand Admiral Thrawn arrives with great pomp aboard his Star Destroyer, the Chimera. As per his deal with the witches, he is transferring cargo for them and this will take three days. In the meantime, Thrawn is willing to honor Baylan Skoll's agreement with Sabine Wren and gives her what she needs to search for Ezra in the wasteland of Peridea.

Contains spoilers for Ahsoka S1, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, The Clone Wars, and non-canon Star Wars Legends novels
Galaxy-hopping space-whales’s Mando-verse series Ahsoka hasn’t been afraid to really dig into the nooks and crannies of Star Wars lore, increasingly drawing on both Rebels and The Clone Wars deep cuts as the season progresses. And so, as we collectively try and process the show’s epic fifth chapter, ‘The Shadow Warrior’, it’s important that we take a moment to talk about the two – yes, two – rare Force powers we get to see in this week’s episode.
Are you all swotted up on the sacred Jedi texts (Aka the Canon and Legends novels)? How’s your working knowledge of PlayStation voyages to the galaxy far, far away? If your answer to any of the above is “Eh?”, then fear not. As a wise Master Yoda once said,...
